5 PAIRS Of High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Closed Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the closed screw type and can accept bare wire or spades. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

This multi-pack includes five pairs of plugs, perfect for connecting the satellite and center channel speakers in a 5.1 channel setup.

    • Can accept bare wire or spades
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes FIVE pairs (10 plugs total)

how do you connect cable to banana plugs ?
    A shopper on Jan 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: From what I remember you unscrew the two pieces run the wire through the outer sleeve and fold it around a gas line pipe fitting where win the two connections get tight and make the connection. It's been a while since I looked them up, but I do remember liking them, I just wish I had better wire. I hope that helps. These were my favorite of four different sets I tried. However, they are not the nicest set on the market I'm sure. Just better than the three others I tried.

Not a tight fit - can be fixed, though
I bought these to fit in Monoprice product 3326: Banana wallplate. For most of the banana plugs, the connection between the banana plug and the wallplate is loose where they fall out due to gravity. Inspection show the four tangs on each banana plug to be not spread apart enough and are too compressed so they don't contact the post properly. The quality of this component is not consistent. I took a small, flat-head screwdriver and on each banana plug, I wedged the screwdriver into each of the four tangs to spread them out more so that they grab more when connected into the post in the wallplate. After this modification, they work just fine.

    PROS: Price
    Overall product is good

CONS: Quality of contacts is not consistent...requires modification

Simple solution to a messy cable problem
I have been wanting to upgrade to banana plugs for quite some time. Both my receive and my speakers accept banana plugs so I put these on both ends of each speaker cable. The plugs were extremely easy to install and have really cleaned up the mess that used to exist at the back of my receiver. I used to hate to have to move the receiver because I had to unscrew all of the connections, remove the speaker wire, move the components, replace the wires (positive wires coming in from the top and negative up from the bottom) and screw them all back in. Now it is just unplug, move and plug in.

    PROS: The price.
    The quality.
The videos (even though you really don't need the videos for these).

CONS: Really none to speak of assuming you know what you are ordering and why you are ordering them.

I purchased these plugs primarily for my HT setup in my house. I also have a big screen projector and receiver to show outdoor movies in my yard a couple times a year. When I first started to assemble the plugs on to the speaker wires, it took a few tries before I was able to consistently fold the correct length of wire over the inner barrel. No problem, I figured it out after a little trial and error.

The thread in pins though, are a problem. Every time that I pull one of the plugs from the speakers or receiver, one or both pins is slightly loose. Finger tight doesn't stay tight, and there are no flat areas where you could use a small wrench.

This became a bigger issue the last time I set up the outdoor movie. When I was laying out the speaker wires, one of the pins unthreaded completely and dropped into the grass, never to be seen again. I was able to go back to my in house HT wiring and use one of those pins, but now I have one plug that is essentially useless.

I am considering using a dab of glue to hold the pins in place, but I don't want to cause any interference issues. The other possibility is to find a very small rubber o-ring to place at the top of the threads to create tension on the threads.

Overall, a good product, but the loose pins definitely take a couple points off the review score.

    PROS: Straightforward design

    Low price

    No special tools needed (except...)

CONS: Thread in pin cannot be tightened

Clean look, Perfect fit, Great value
I bought these banana plugs to use in the installation of a 5.1 system for my mother-in-law's house. She is very particular about appearances with these sorts of things so I wanted her to have the best looking system I could put together for her.

While you will hardly ever see the back of the speaker, back of the receiver, etc., it was important for everything to have a clean look.

These banana plugs are a snap to install on the wire and make connection to the binding posts a half-second install. For the low/moderate power of the system, I used these plugs with Monoprice 16awg speaker wire.

The clean look and function of these banana plugs compliment the Polk Audio speakers and Denon receiver very well. My mother-in-law was very impressed with how professional everything looked.

    PROS: easy to assemble

    easy to connect

    very clean look

CONS: perhaps a little longer than necessary

    Worked great
These are a great way to provide a clean, professional look to any installation. They work perfectly with the keystone banana plug jacks (and are in my opinion necessary to prevent shorts) Great price, great product.

    PROS: Worked perfectly

    CONS: None

Excellent Quality at an Incredible Price
I have used banana clips from Advent, Monster and several others. For the quality, these cannot be beat! They are solidly made and easy to install. I have had no issues out of these clips at all! They worked so well, I purchased three more packs for my other audio needs in my house!

    PROS: Easy to install.

Work well with larger gauge wires.

    CONS: None.

    Audio Bling
These plugs perfectly match my new gold grill! They even transmit audio signals better than my braces back in Jr. High.

    CONS: Not diamonds

    Easy to Install, Work Great
They seem to work just fine. I haven't had any problems so far and they were fairly quick to install. My only problem was that with the 7.1 distribution plate Monoprice sells, having a bannana plug on either won't fit 100%. One side or the other will get pushed out a little bit. This shouldn't be a huge issue, but I imagine if you are taking them in and out all the time it might be possible for the plugs on the other end (in the wall) to fall out which would be a hassle.

PROS: Pretty easy to install, no stray strands hanging out.

CONS: They seem to be too long for their own wall plates
