    4-Port USB 3.0 HUB w/ AC Adapter - 5V/3.8A

Maintain SuperSpeed connectivity for all your external USB devices with this 4-port USB 3.0 Hub from Monoprice!

This hub features four USB 3.0 ports, which are capable of reaching speeds of up to 5.0 Gbps, while at the same time maintaining full backwards compatibility with USB 3.0/1.1/1.0 devices. It comes with a 5 VDC, 3.8A power supply, allowing it to provide the full 900mA power output required for self-powered devices (e.g., 2.5" portable hard drives) on all four ports.

The hub measures only 4.5" wide, 1" high, and 2.8" deep. It features power and activity LEDs on the front, so you can always know the status of your connections. It uses a USB 3.0 micro-B connector for the connection from the computer, so it can only be connected to a USB 3.0 port.

    Great price, good hub.
Good little USB hub. Nice that it includes the power adapter and USB 3.0 cable as well.
I found the USB 3.0 cable too short, another foot on it would be great.

I have had occasional drops with this unit, but they appear to have been related to initial setup.

This is based on the Via Labs 812 chipset, rather than the more common 810, or 811 chipset. This could potentially be an issue in terms of post sale service, and firmware updates as I do not believe Monoprice is the actual manufacturer of this unit. With the D-Link USB hub I have (810 based), I can use the 810 firmware from a different brand of USB hub though as D-Link stopped supporting it.

    PROS: Price
    Speed (more than 200MB/s over USB 3.0 to a 2-HDD RAID-0).
Power ( More than enough power to charge an iPhone and iPad)

    CONS: Occasional drop outs.
USB cable may be too short.

    lasted one year
The hub had only one drive connected to it behind another hub. Everything on the other hub worked fine but this one kept dropping and losing my drive with three partitions. I plugged the drive into another hub and it worked just fine didn't lose the connection once. So take your chances. Mine lasted one year. I have two others of different brands and they work just fine.

Although most stuff from Monoprice has been good to me this is the exception.

    PROS: works

    CONS: stops working

    Yup, It's a USB 3.0 Hub
It's quite hard for me to get wildly worked up about this hub. I mean, It's a USB 3.0 Hub.

It has power. It has a nice long cable for plugging it into your machine and putting this on your desk. It works every time. Basically the review to me on this would either be a 1 or a 10. It does exactly what it's advertised to do, and it does it for a lot less than every other one I saw out there. I'm happy.

PROS: It's a USB 3.0 hub with power.

It does the hub thing really well

CONS: It doesn't plug itself in.

Couldn't get working with Raspberry Pi.
I saw the 7 port USB hub that was compatible with Raspberry Pi, but I didn't need as many ports. So I ended up buying this four port USB adapter. I tried tinkering around with it, and couldn't get it to work. The Raspberry Pi is able to run off the hub, but is unable to recognize the USB Mouse, Keyboard, or any other device. I have also tried powering the Raspberry Pi unit separately with still no luck. If anyone was able to get this device working with Pi, it would be great to see how you got it working, as this is a perfect sized/styled unit.

PROS: Nice USB hub if you want to use with Windows 7. Nice looking design, and good quality.

CONS: Couldn't get working with Raspberry Pi.

Pretty good hub, had to get it replaced
The product performs as expected, its compact, fast, and honestly I've had it on for a few months now and it still works. I even dropped it a couple of times by tugging on the cord when getting up and it is still fine. However this is the second one I got, the first one died after about a month. Monoprice did replace it promptly though and it seems to me like it might have been a one off, just bad luck.

    PROS: Good speeds

    Provide power

    Port becomes loose - AVOID
Ordered it two years ago, returned one in for a replacement, and the second one just broke today. Once the port becomes loose, my computer will no longer recognize the devices plugged into the hub, making the usb port pretty much worthless (it can still provide power to the devices via the AC adapter - big whoop.)

PROS: Was decent while it worked

CONS: USB 3 port in the back (connecting it to the computer) becomes loose VERY easily.

    Good USB 3.0 Hub
Bought this with skepticism after buying a dud from eBay. This turned out to be much better and totally reliable so far. I keep two USB 3.0 external HDs (WD) and a Kingston USB 3.0 card reader and has worked flawlessly at amazing speed. I'm happy to learn about monoprice from a co-worker.

PROS: Works well with my late 2012 iMac.

    CONS: None so far.

    5/5
As a note to the reviewer from Corvallis, OR on this note:
"Cons: proprietary USB-3 cord with plug - can't be reused for other products."
FYI, That's a USB 3.0 micro cable that came with it. It is not proprietary. It is a standardized cable, and is used on such devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4.

PROS: Looks nice, comes with Micro USB3.0 cable for data transfer/charging supported devices.
