seems to work, but a little odd
a review on another color of this hub says 5V 2A is recommended. I believe this is based on 4 ports times 500mA per port is 2000mA total, or 2A. you can use any 5V supply with more than 500mA as long as you don't plug in enough to exceed what your supply is rated for.

additionally, the power supply appears to expect "tip positive" which is the most common kind.

PROS: Small, option for external power. also works as multi-port USB charger if you use external power and don't plug into a computer.

CONS: doesn't come with power adapter or documentation for power requirements.

Don't Waste Your Time or Money
I'll start by saying I'm a longtime customer and am generally very satisfied with my purchases. This item, however, is a loser, and you should not buy it.

I bought two of these in different colors, one for myself, one for my father. Performance for both was erratic from the get-go. Both units had trouble sustaining connections for input devices (a keyboard in one case, a mini tablet for Chinese character input in the other). We had to plug and unplug the devices multiple times to get a working connection (and this had to be repeated every time the computer was restarted). The devices then often stopped working for no discernible reason, or when another device (usually a flash drive) was plugged into hub. It got so frustrating, we gave up and just plugged the input devices directly into the computer.

Connections to flash drives and hard drives that had their own power sources (not USB powered drives, I knew this hub was not intended to support those) also spontaneously failed so that the drives would be improperly ejected without warning. After about a week, one of the hubs failed completely, and nothing plugged into it connects to the computer.

Have already started the process of returning the items for a refund. They are small, attractive, and inexpensive, and I really hoped they would get the job done, but they don't. They're junk. I feel Monoprice needs to start improving quality control on products that have an electronic component, as more often than not, I've had problems with such items, and am unlikely to buy anything with an electronic component again. If I could give a zero rating, I would.

    PROS: None.

CONS: Erratic performance, failure after one week.

    Simple & Works
Simple, compact design seems like it would hold up well to normal use. I appreciate that there is a socket for an AC adaptor, but there is no indication either on the unit itself or the packaging, or the Monoprice website stating what voltage or polarity plug to use. It's a thoughtful feature, but not terribly useful if it isn't supported.

    PROS: Small. Works.

CONS: No indication of what type of AC adaptor to use.

    Response from Monoprice
    Hi Greg,

I apologize for the lack of information. PID 10067 uses a 5V, 2A adapter. 3.5mm OD 1mm ID . Without the adapter, the total power is 500mAh for 4 ports. With the 5V 2A adapter, each port is about 500mAh. Thank you for your feedback and hope this helps!

    Terrible Product
This little cube USB hub literally fell apart in my hands when I plugged a USB cable into it. The green cover came away from the black end pieces. So I held it together and plugged in all the cables, only to discover that only two of the four USB ports worked. All-in-all, it is a terrible product. For the price, it was not even worth returning.

    PROS: Small, light

    CONS: Poorly constructed, unreliable.

Truly sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered with PID 10067. Would you be able to send a photo of the cube? Have you tried different USB cables for the ports or connecting to different devices? Does the issue remain? Please let me know so that I may further assist you.
