    Does not charge fast
The original USB spec called for a cable that can allow up to 0.5A of current to be drawn. I tested this cable with a USB ammeter and it could barely charge my phone at 0.45A. Other cables were able to let my phone draw up to 1A. I would suggest getting a bigger wire (24AWG) if you want to charge your phone.

PROS: It is a USB data cable

CONS: Meets the 0.5A USB spec

nice cable, well made, but minimizes amps = slow charging.
I wouldn't get this cable knowing the current is limited. Unfortunately I bought 5 of them and all 5 have the same limits. I wish they displayed this current limiting information on their pages.

    PROS: cable looks well made

CONS: this cable only allows 800 ma according to my S4 (using Current Widget) So if you are needing this for a rapid charge look at a different cable. My OEM Samsung cable allows 1200 ma and more when the screen is off)

Slow Charging Cable - DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT QUICK CHARGE
Do not buy this cable if you intend on charging your phone quickly. None of the reviews I read when I was researching mentioned charge speed. Now it seems like everyone is commenting on it. If you want a cheap usb cable for charging/data this will work however, it will charge your phone extremely slow. For example, my Nexus 5 said 43 minutes remaining until fully charged (approx 88% battery life left). When I hooked it up to the factory cable it would only take 11 minutes. I will be trying a 28/24 awg cable to see if they work better.

    PROS: Typical monoprice price/quality.

    CONS: Slow charge

Will not charge at full current
I put a charger on a Kill-A-Watt power measurement device, and simply switching out the EOM cable for this cable dropped the power consumed by the charger (and therefore the charging current) by half. Maximum power consumed was 5 watts, which translates into 1 Amp (1000mA) of charging current. My charger is rated at 2 Amps, so charging will take twice as long with this cable than the OEM cable.

    PROS: Cheap

CONS: Won't support full charge rate.

These are crap for charging phones.
Wow. I never thought I would say this about Monoprice, but this is bad. Really bad. Not sure if these few I got were a bad batch, but this is unusable for the main reason I bought them charging phones. It can be on the charger for 2+ hours and only get 12 percent battery on a 3500 mA android phone. It's not the wall charger because it operates fine with my old (almost frayed) cord, it's not the phone because it charges great with some others, but wow. This is crap. Build quality seems fine.

Monoprice has a name I thought I could trust, with glowing reviews from multiple people's whom I respect, I thought I would be in good hands. Nope. Maybe the premium ones are better, but after being burned by the regulars, I'm not sure if I wanna try, and if I do, it's gonna be a LONG time.

    PROS: Build Quality
    No branding
    Shipping speed
Got them on sale (14 cents cheaper)

CONS: Dreadful charge times. (Ampere, an app that trys to saying a max of 150mA, and sits at 20mA)
Waste of money and my time.

    1/5
Purchased 6 cables for my daughters Kindle Fire. One cable arrived non functional the remaining 5 cables all failed within two weeks. The all seemed to fail at the micro USB connector.

I have been a customer of Monoprice for many years and purchased many product, these cables do not meet the quality I have come to expect from Monoprice.

PROS: When they work, they work well, but they won't work for long.

CONS: Not durable and received one DOA cable.

    Great Cable
For $0.82, you can't beat this cable. I see a lot of reviews saying that the cables are of a low build quality and the connector breaks easily or that it charges the phone slow. I've been using this and the 10ft cable for the past 6 months and haven't had a problem.

Holding the connector in my fingers, I don't understand how someone could break it besides being careless and dropping their phone with the cable attached, or somehow pulling on the cable at a bad angle and bending the connector. I've tripped on the cable and sent my phone flying off my bed and across the floor the cable wasn't phased and didn't even come unconnected. Maybe they redesigned it and I have a new version? Either way, the thing is really solid in the plastic casing surrounding it and I have much more expensive cables that aren't this solid.

As far as this cable charging the phone slow, that's going to be caused by the power adapter that the cable is plugged into, not the cable itself. The cable merely transfers whatever amount of electricity your charger is putting out. If you have a problem with your phone charging slowly, you need to get a higher output power adapter/charger. A lot only put out 500mah or less, look for one that puts out more than 500mah. I have one that puts out 850mah, and another that puts out 1A, though that much output is hard on your phones battery and can shorten its life. That much output is more suited for tablets, but you can use it to rapid charge your phone.

If 6ft is the length you are looking for, buy this cable. The worst that could happen is it breaks and you're out 4/5ths the cost of a dollar menu hamburger and end up buying something else. Best-case scenario is you spend 4/5ths the cost of a dollar menu hamburger and are happily satisfied with it like I am.

    PROS: Super cheap, length, quality

    CONS: I didn't buy more

    Great cables
I've ordered from monoprice for years and the cables they provide are of good quality and you can't beat the price.

PROS: Does what it needs to do: charges my phone, allows me to transfer data to/from my phone

    CONS: None
