6ft 32AWG Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable - White

Connect your DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort sources and devices with this bi-directional cable from Monoprice!

This cable has a standard sized DisplayPort (DP) connector on one end and a Mini DisplayPort (MDP) connector on the other. The cable is bi-directional, which means that you can use a DP source with a MDP monitor or a MDP source with a DP monitor.

The conductors are made of pure copper and the connectors are gold-plated for improved connectivity and corrosion resistance. Additionally, it is well-shielded to prevent stray electromagnetic (EM) and radio frequency (RF) signals from interfering with your data.

Important Note! This cable supports the DisplayPort version 1.1, which does not support audio and has a maximum data transmission rate of 8.64 Gbps.

    Incorrectly Designed, Buyer Beware!
I bought one of these cables for use with a MacMini (brand new) and Dell U3011 30" monitor (brand new). It worked for about a day, and then the DisplayPort connection no longer would provide a video signal to the monitor, whereas the other ports continued to work. I did some research and found that DisplayPort cables, including the one that came with the monitor, normally have no connection on pin 20, which is designed to provide power to unpowered external devices from both monitors and computers. If you connect the two with pin 20, they fight to control the voltage on the line, and if you turn one of the devices off, the other will try to power it via the DisplayPort connector. Imagine trying to turn on your 30" monitor via your computer. It is a recipe for disaster. Go to the DisplayPort web site and read about pin 20, or look for the NEC warning notice about this issue. Hopefully I'll save someone the trouble that I'm still going through trying to resolve this and get my components repaired. MonoPrice did send me another cable same issue.

    PROS: Looks good, inexpensive.

CONS: Incorrectly designed and could damage your computer, monitor, or both.

I bought a Dell U2412M (24") monitor for my MacBook Pro. Initially I had it hooked up via a DVI cable with a DVI-to-mini-DisplayPort adapter (purchased from Monoprice). Some of the fonts didn't render as nicely as I'd have liked. Since the monitor had a DisplayPort connection I decided to order this cable and connect my MacBook with that to see if the font rendering was better. I didn't expect there to be a difference, based on what I know and have read about video cables/connectors/etc., but for as cheap as this cable is I figured it was worth a shot. I was surprised to see that the font rendering, while not as nice I would have preferred, was noticeably better. I don't know if it was the quality of the Monoprice cable to the stock one from Dell, or if there was a loss of fidelity from the adapter, or what. But the cable works better than I'd expected and I'd definitely recommend it.

    PROS: Inexpensive, direct connection

CONS: The white cord coming out of the bottom of a black monitor is a tad unsightly.

iMac 27" and PC all on one monitor!
Bought this cable to connect my PC to my new iMac 27". Now I have the both of best world (MAC and PC) all on one very beautiful 27" monitor. This cable works perfectly for what I needed it to do, and as always you can't beat the price from Monoprice. I just wish Monoprice had a distribution centre in Canada (so for my bigger orders I wouldn't have to worry about customs fees). Great product and great price, not much else to say about this item.

    Provides 2560x1600 to Dell U3011
I am using this to connect my late 2012 Mac min to a Dell U3011 display and I am able to get full 2560x1600 resolution. This cable is probably the cheapest way to get this resolution on a large display.

PROS: Works! Provides 2560x1600 resolution using just this cable.
    Inexpensive.

    CONS: None.

    Great cable for Dell monitor
This cable works perfectly and I love that I don't have a big dongle hanging from macbook pro. I'm using it with Dell 2408WFP.

Works well with HP LP2475W and MacBook
I use this cable to connect my aluminum MacBook (late 2008 model) to an HP LP2475w monitor running at 1920x1200x60. Works perfectly, no issues at all, other than the cable being a little stiff.

Well, I'm blown away!!! I've had my cable for about a week now. It replaced a single link DVI-D cable on a Mac Pro with an ATI 4870 video card. My Monitor is an HP ZR24w (1920 X 1200 resolution). My only trepidation with this cable is that it looked so thin when I opened the package. BUT, it works GREAT. The picture seems better than with my old DVI cable. Most other cables and adapters on the market cost substantially more than this cable. I've seen them for over $100.00. This cable is a bit over $6.00 with shipping. How can they do this? MonoPrice you've won me over!

PROS: It Flat Out Works - Can't ask for more than that.

CONS: I'd like the cable to be a little thicker (heavier in gauge).

    Does the job
Now achieving native display resolution with several ASUS monitors hooked up to Mac Minis and a Mac Pro, something that wasn't happening with DVI adapters.

PROS: Inexpensive of course, it's Monoprice after all!

Works perfectly connecting my March09 Macbook Pro to my Dell 2408WFP monitor via the Displayport connector. Much better than the bulky miniDP-DVI adapter.
