USB 2.0 to DVI Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920x1080)

This USB 2.0 Graphic Adapter allows you to quickly and easily add an additional monitor to your desktop or laptop. The connected monitor can be configured to either clone your primary screen or extend the Windows® desktop, allowing visibility of more applications at the same time.

The driver uses very few computer resources and offers a vast array of screen resolutions and color depths. This ensures that there is little difference in performance between a directly connected screen and a screen connected through the USB 2.0 Graphic Adapter.

It supports up to six simultaneous displays, including widescreen displays, extending your both desktop and your horizons. It operates at a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 (4:3) or 1920x1080 (16:9). A 3.5mm Stereo TRS to RCA audio adapter is included, which attaches directly to the converter to provide support for 2.1-channel audio output.

    Beware
I know I'm not the only one who has this problem as there are other people in the forums for the drivers that run it having the same issue.

Installed the latest drivers and went through lots of tech support with the people who write the driver but it seems it's the product not the drivers but that took so long I'm past my return window.

Obviously they aren't all faulty or people wouldn't have such negative reviews but beware because I just have a 60 dollar piece of garbage now.

    PROS: Has great features
    Easy to hook up

    CONS: Mine Doesn't work.
Screen just turns on and off repeatedly.

    5/5
Overall, this works very well and is nearly seamless. As expected, there is a bit of lag, but it's very useful for anything other than video. I would definitely recommend this with that one caveat.

PROS: Works very well, and virtually no setup (besides downloading drivers) on Mac. Good image quality, easy to use. Audio quality is fine.

CONS: A bit laggy not going to work for 1080p video.

Quick and Easy to set up
Great product. I have already recommended this product to others.

    PROS: Connected quick and easy.

CONS: I would reeally like to see one that can be switched between two PC's.

    Works perfect
Works right out of the box... If you have windows7 the drivers install as soon as you plug the device into the usb.. took about two minutes and my hdtv and two monitors was working..

PROS: No lag, light weight, easy to use right out the box

CONS: the device feels a little cheap. It look like it would be heavier than what it is and the screws on the adapters are plastic and feel cheap also the device gets a little warm... BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER!

    Works and Works Great!
I got these device not really sure if it were going to work well or not. To my surprise it not only works but works beyond expectation. I have used the hulu app on it and does not stutter along like I thought it would. I may possibly buy more of this just to add some more displays to my setup. I am currently using this with a Late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro. I also suggest that you look for the beta displaylink drivers on displaylinks website. After installing those drivers and not the one on the CD the device displayed a full 1920 x 1080 image on my screen with rotation and OpenGL still working. Tested Expose and everything and all is well. If you look at the pictures the display that is turned 90 degrees is being controlled by this usb to dvi device.

    Excellent Product
This is a superb product that I use to connect my computer to my LG 47" LCD TV. I use this during meetings to show clients their projects. I use this unit on Windows 7 Ultimate, x64 and have no problems outside of occassional driver bugs or flakiness.

I run 4 computer monitors across 2 XFX ATI video cards, and didn't have room for a 5th monitor and 3rd video card. So I was shown this solution by a Monoprice rep in Live Support/Chat and discovered it would be the perfect solution to connect my computer to the LG TV via USB. So I purchased this and 50' VGA cable, since most LCD TVs have standard PC VGA connections. The adapters in the product box allowed me to connect the unit via USB, then connect the VGA cable to the other end and run it the TV 40' away where the clients would be seated. It blows them away to see their project on the widescreen.

Note of advice: If you're setting up like I did, make sure you do the math on what additional cables you'll need and what lengths you'll need. Also, the driver software should be downloaded from the website mentioned on the product page or from support. The software has its bugs, but they're working on it, so get the latest version, not the one on the CD. On that note, you'll need to jigger with the software and settings to get everything right, depending on your TV/monitor, its resolution and settings, etc. Once you do this, save the settings, and you're good to go within a few mouse clicks, whether connecting or unconnecting the unit.

As usual, Monoprice is just awesome for cables and oddities like this unit. I usually buy computer stuff from NewEgg, but Mono gets my business when possible due to their pricing and awesome next day shipping to NV.

Great device serves its purpose for great price wish it had DC Adapter included
I bought this adapter to add a third monitor to my laptop for work. I have a main display that is 24 inches then my laptop LCD next to it then a 19 inch display next to it that is plugged into the USB adapter. This has worked great for my purposes. I do wish they provided a DC adapter with the device which would likely solve the issue I see when the usb port its plugged into is lacking power. I love that it comes with all the adapters makes it a very useful device very happy with the purchase but again wish I had the DC adapter.

PROS: - Works great with macbook pro mid 2010 using dvi
    - Compatible with Mountain Lion OS latest
    - Has been working fine since my purchase on 7/11/2012

CONS: - Doesn't come with a power adapter but has a port for one
    - Won't work properly if connected to a USB port that doesn't have enough power *Note: Likely addressed if I had a DC adapter but can't verify that since I don't have one*
    - Requires driver for mac osx though haven't had any issues with it so not a huge deal.
    - mac osx will not make the monitor available during boot as it would for a monitor plugged in to the native DisplayPort which is understandable but should be noted.
    - When power is lacking on device lag and video issues will be seen on external monitor.
    - Has a bit of lag even with power but still good enough for most things

    USB to DVI display adapter
I inherited a Dell XPS One (you know the one with no video display out). It is crazy that Dell wouldn't consider that people at these machines would want to extend or duplicate the desktop. So, after looking I decided to try this one. Yep, it just plugs into one of the four USB ports on the back of the machine. Sure enough, it works. Windows 7 recognized and configured it as an extended or duplicated display. No recognizable lag time. No funky start up issues. Back to work.

PROS: Simple to setup. Small (it is about the size of an Apple iPhone 4). Includes and accommodates different video display types (it is out of the gate with DVI, but includes both VGA, and HDMI adapters). Can accomodate sound (although I haven't needed or used that feature). Cheap. Monoprice shipped fast. Bus powered (no external power cord or brick for this).

    Works great!...WOW!
What a great way to add an HDMI port to a laptop / desktop that doesn't have one!

Just download and install the latest drivers FIRST from the displaylink website, and then just plug the unit into any USB 2.0 port. BAM!....It works!....Right click in the task bar, and change the settings to your likings.

I found to really get things smooth, download (at your own risk) the BETA version of Adobe flash 10.1.3. This helps offload some of the memory req's from the video memory to the CPU processor which helps smooth out / speed up playback when streaming over the internet. I highly recommend this product, and will def. buy more...
