The Monoprice MP-DSS4 4-Channel A/B Speaker Selector allows you to route your stereo speaker output to four different rooms or speaker zones within your home. The selector includes both A and B stereo speaker inputs and a single stereo output for each of the four zones. Each zone can be turned on or off using an oblong push button on the front panel and each zone can be selected independently to output either the A or B input channel using small round buttons next to each on/off switch.

The selector includes built-in impedance matching circuitry designed to protect your amplifier from overload and damage by ensuring that the load is never reduced below 5 ohms, no matter how many speaker zones are selected. The protection circuitry can be turned on or off using an oblong shaped push-button on the right side of the front panel. With the protection circuitry enabled, the selector can handle up to 70 watts per channel, while it can handle up to 140 watts per channel when the protection is disabled.

The selector is made of metal, with a powder-black finish. Hard rubber feet help protect the mounting surface from scratches, while ensuring that cooling air can flow under the unit. The speaker connections on the back panel can accept speaker wire as large as 14 AWG. A packet of pre-printed label stickers allows you to readily indentify each output zone.

WARNING! Do not disable the protection circuitry unless you are using other impedance matching equipment, such as impedance matching volume controls, for each connected speaker zone.
