Not what was expected
|
Pros: case fits the iPad Mini.
Case Looks nice.
Price
Cons: case did not latch
case did not have a magnet to turn off the iPad mini
case would not fully wrap around.
I was excited about this as I have the same case for my iPad 4 and it works great. However this case aside from looking like the iPad case does not act anything like the iPad case. This case would not latch. I assume that is because the metal latch was not properly adjusted at the factory. Also it did not have a magnet!! So the device did not shut off when closed. (I tested with the apple case I have and it turned off and came to life properly) I think this is one of the key items that makes iPad nice is the magnet shut off and awaken.
Overall if those two items were corrected and a hand strp was added I think this would be just as good a case as the case for the iPad 4 that I got from Monoprice.

Thank you. The case was replaced and the new case does latch. However I would suggest adding that the case does not have a magnet.

Great Case
|
Pros: Great case! Cheap and provides stand for watching movies and videos
High Quality and matches anything the high priced options can do

Now that's a decent case
|
Pros: The case is a nice, leather, or imitation, and fully covers the Ipad in a minimalistic way. It fits nice and snug and unhinges to allow it to stand on its own at a few different angles.
Cons: Needed to be worked in to function comfortably.
I like the look and the feel of the case. The front cover folds to the back for normal use and the cover can also be positioned to allow the ipad to stand on its own at a couple different angles. As for working it in, I had an issue with the cover not comfortably resting against the back of the ipad when in use. To remedy this, instead of waiting for it to be naturally broken in, I put a pencil in the fold, held it tight against the back of the case, and heated the case with a heat gun. This stretched it out slightly and made the case function much better.

Gret case for a great price!
|
Pros: Very nice looking case, feels nice and sturdy too. Offers good protection for your iPad mini.
Two viewing angles are very useful, and the case holds the iPad in place nicely.
Clips that hold the iPad in place seem to hold it nice and tightly.
Pulling the bottom of the iPad out of the clips to stand it up is fairly easy, and doesn't seem to be wrecking or bending the clips at all.
Clips closed securely.
Cons: As previous reviewers have said, holding the iPad with the cover folded all the way back in a little bit uncomfortable, but it's not that bad really, you do tend to get used to it.
Unclipping the two clips that hold the iPad in to stand it up seems to have created very minor scratches on the metal aroun the edge of the iPad, but unless you're fanatical about not having any scratches, this really shouldn't deter anyone from using this case.
No magnet to wake up or put to sleep the iPad.
An all around excellent case. I've recommended it to friends already, you really can't beat it for the price!

Beautiful case. Heavy duty. Just as good as the $40 ones sold in stores. I highly recommend.

Description is not accurate
|
Pros: The case is decent value and is thick enough that it should protect well.
Cons: There is no hand strap like the description suggests (see other reviews as well).
The real problem, though, is that the lid does not close tight enough to put the iPad to sleep because of the flaps at the top and bottom.
I've love Monoprice and the value that they offer. I just think that an honest review is warranted and this product is not all that it could be. I've only had the covers for a few hours and i think that the flaps could be trimmed which might help the problem.
You are getting what you pay for in this case (no pun intended).

Ok Case, not as good as competitors
|
Pros: Nice leather, feels solid, folio style that lets you stand it in landscape
Cons: No band to hold the cover open as stated in description. Cover will not fold flat, see review.
I really wanted to like this case as much as my iPad case, but there a a few issues that really disappoint me. First was the issue pointed out by a previous review, that there isn't a band to hold the cover open as stated in the description, please change this to reflect the real product. The second is what annoys me the most. When you open the case, the lid will not fold around the back and lay flat. When this is done, the cover sits at about a 30 degree angle off the back of the iPad. This makes it really awkward to hold when the cover flipped to the back.
Other than these issues, the case is of solid design and food materials. I wish the design was a little more thought out, if it had I would have no complaints. Looking back, I probably would have chosen a different case for the mini had I known about the issue with the cover.

disapointed

Pros: Great case but too bad it isnt the product they describe.
Cons: Product is missing the hand strap, the elastic strap to hold the front cover open when folded all the way back and the binding is too small so the front cover will not even open all the way allowing you to fold it all the way back it only folds 2/3's of the way before binding and bending.
I bought this case because I have the same one for my iPad 2 and I love it, all I wanted was that case 'smaller'. I really hope this is a manufacturing over-site that will be fixed ASAP!

New mini iPad user
|
Pros: It is very sturdy. I think it will do a good job of protecting my ipap. Cheaper than other similar cases.
