Great product, but needs a name change
|
Pros: Inexpensive, decent quality for various office equipment uses
You can use them on an old CRT TV?
Cons: Do not use on screens, laptops, LCD, Plasma, etc
Better off using PID 5177 or 5175 (even the Monoprice Admin said so)
Worth the ~1.50$ and are great for general office surfaces. They do not tear any more than other wipes coming out of a similar container, and the dampness is sufficient
Given the chemicals used in these, I would not recommend them for cleaning screens. Previous feedback from Monoprice recommends, PID 5177 or 5175, for cleaning screens
MONOPRICE - I would suggest changing the name of this product, it should not be "Screen Cleaning Wipes". Even the name on the container says, "Multi-Surface Cleaning Wipes", and nowhere on the container does it mention using on a screen (safe or not)
I suggest the above with all the heartfelt consumer optimism from one of your biggest fans -)

Good for genearl cleaning NOT screens
|
Pros: Works well for general cleaning
Cons: Terrible for screen cleaning..............
I should have read the reviews before I bought these to clean my TV. Good for wiping off the frame and other areas. NOT good for cleaning the screen.

|
Pros: cleans keyboards good, i bought 2 units, was a great price
Cons: does a bad job on compurter screens. and they dry out to fast.

Hello,
Sorry to hear that the wipes didnt work well for the screen. They dont always work well on the actual screen itself but meant more for the bezel or outer surface of the computer or television screens. For using on the actual screens you may want to consder our LCD screen cleaners like PID 5177 or 5175, just to name a few. I have posted links for both below for your convenience.

Excellent Wipes
|
Pros: - Thick weaved wipe
- Good amount of cleaning solution per wipe
- Unbeatable price

Bought these for my cubicle area at work, and was thoroughly impressed.
Summary of the Pros:
The wipes are a nice thick weaved material, which shouldn't be an issue in an office environment, but I like my stuff to be durable. They are moistened with a good amount of cleaning solution per wipe, to sort of quantify, my desk holds a mid-size computer tower, two 19" widescreen monitors, keyboard, two mice and a 17" widescreen laptop. I was able to clean my entire desk surface, the monitor stands, the mice, and the keyboard with one wipe and it was STILL moist when I was done. Also, no tearing, and got the dirt up and locked away into the wipe. The price for these is just as good as the wipes you can buy at the store by certain disinfectant companies (Cl*r*x or Ly**l) but they can be safely used on the aforementioned office items without leaving a film anywhere.
Summary of the Cons:
This item comes in the now-standard cylindrical plastic container with the pop-top lid and the little feeder (as seen in the product photos) like any product of this type today. When feeding the wipes through initially, I did tear a few, and pulled a couple more out than I'd like. The initial tearing does not occur once you get the wipes fed comfortably through the opening, and I'm guessing it was more user error than container failure that caused me to feed more than one wipe through initially (I've done this before with other brands, so I'm inclined to think it was me). As for the item description, Monoprice, I'm used to a lot more detail than what is listed. I took a guess on this product from what I could infer from the little detail given, and was rewarded with exactly what I wanted.
Info Others May Want:
- These wipes seem to be alcohol-based, so given that knowledge, I would discourage anyone from using them on LCD/Plasma screens unless you want to risk ruining the finish of those screens.
- They do not leave a film or a residual odor, the only odor is while using them and while the cleaning solution has not fully dried off the cleaned surface
- The seals on the plastic container seem fairly airtight (I cannot speak to possible drying out of the wipes as I have only had this product opened for 2 days as of writing this review)
