HD Antenna
|
Pros: Arrived before site had said it was in transit. Easy install. Great Quality for price.
Cons: Nothing.
Just moved and needed local channels only. In LA/OC have picked up 120+ channels, some of the HD ones are equal to my old dish service. Getting another one for back room.

Pros: Another high quality Monoprice item. Comes with all you need for a short run install. Inside or out. I liked the flexible base. I mounted it in the attic on a stud facing an angle, my antenna went verticle. Nice
Cons: Cannot think of any!
I am going to buy two more, works that well! Just get it!

Nothing will help me....
|
Pros: Price, ease of setup
Unfortunately for me I am blocked from the signal transmitters by a mountain, so regardless of how well this product may work, I can't get a signal. Seems like a good quality item, but regardless of the quality it doesn't work for me.

Works great
|
Pros: Works great. Comes with everything you would want in an antenna (mounting kit, coax cable, amplifier, etc.). Looks great (small and stylish).
I receive all but 2 channels I wanted and I think that's because I have trees in the way. I'm using mine outside mounted about 10-15 feet down from the peak of my lower roof and my house sits lower than the house the antenna is pointed towards. I'm about 20 miles from most of the HD transmitters.

Works better than expected
|
Pros: Small, light and very easy to install. Comes with all the supplies you would need for an installation.
Cons: Only comes with a ten foot length of coaxial cable. I bought an additional 50' through monoprice so that I could do a proper outdoor installation.
This antenna works great! When it first arrived I set it up on top of the entertainment center, about six feet high, and only received around 10 channels. I wasn't too impressed since http://www.antennaweb.org said we should be receiving at least 19 stations. Since I had always intended for the antenna to be outside so I decided to reserve judgement and I am glad I did! I zip tied it to a vent pipe on the roof and ran 50' of coaxial cable inside. I now get 46 channels!

Works great
|
Pros: Gets a great signal
Cons: Had to run a longer cable to get it where I want
I mounted it 50 feet away from the TV and it still works great. Signal is strong and I am about 40 miles from Portland OR. Open sky's around me though. Was able to get off cable with this and love it. Would buy it again, even ordered one for my parents' house since they have signal issues, helped them too.

Please ignore "thisoldhaunt"
|
I'm sorry, I just had to refute thisoldhaunt's review (directly below mine). His review does a disservice to this product and to consumers who are genuinely in need of a quality HD antenna. He put it IN HIS FREEZER, and he expects others to treat him as a credible source of information?
This antenna is nothing short of fantastic. For $22, there is no reason not to buy this. Stop reading the reviews now, just buy it. Seriously. You'll thank me later. Mine pulls in a ridiculous number of stations (close to 30). Saves me $80/mo in the cable service I don't have to pay for anymore. Thank you Monoprice.

HDTV - Piece of Junk
|
Hi,
The antenna is just awful. I had rabbit ears that pre-date my 5 year old HD TV that worked significantly better. TV could only locate a couple of channel in the Detroit market with this antenna.
Just for the heck of it I put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and brought it out. I thunked it with my index finger and it cracked. Not very durable for an OUTDOOR antenna. I do not think it would hold up very well in Michigan.
It is to much trouble to return it and the cost to ship is why I freeze tested it.
Anyways, go to a garage sale and find yourself a very old pair of rabbit ears. It will work better, at least in the Northern Detroit suburbs. Just for reference I am less than 10 miles away from all HD sources.

HDTV w/o cable or satelite
|
Although I have satelite TV, I didn't want to pay the extra for HD TV. Aside from the 3 major networks, their aren't that many other channels with HD about which I care. So I opt'd for the HDTV antenna. This this the least expensive and simplest solution. I have it hooked up to my Samsung 55" HDTV and it works great. I not only get the 3 network stations in HD but, each network has 1 or more additional channels that I receive with this antenna that I don't get through my satelite service. I also get to additional public service channels in my area. I'm thoroughly satisfied. The antenna was priced low and was delivered quickly.

Great buy!
|
I used to watch local channels with a bit of snow here or there, but it was acceptable under analog. After the digital transition, my reception have been cutting in and out constantly which makes TV viewing both painful and impossible. Not to mention that I can only receive PBS after the transition.
I know better than going cheap on the converter box. I bought the DTVpal-plus which is supposed to be the top model. As it turns out, that didn't help with the reception.
After much problem with the rabbit ears reception, I've been blaiming it on the converter box. In fact, I was about to throw both the TV and the converter box out the window.
I purchased the monoprice in/outdoors antenna without much expectation as I've tried everything from adjusting the rabbit ears in every angle possible to hanging aluminum foils all over it.
After installing the monoprice outdoors antenner on the side of my house, all my channels came through perfectly. No more cutting in and out. I feel as though I have cable now without the monthly fee.
I'll be ordering more as backup.
Frankly, I was expecting the monoprice outdoors antenna to be bigger when it arrived, but it does a great job in a small package.
Definitely recommend it over giving in to paying cable. The best $20 bucks I've ever spend!
Very happy!!!

Great Antenna!!
|
For the price this is one of the best Antennas you can buy. I use it in Toronto, Canada and have it pointing at the CN-Tower. I currently pick up around 15 channels, most in nice HD which is better then rogers/bell offerings since they compress their HD signal so its never as good as OTA
For anybody that's looking to give it a try dont even think twice about it. For $20 its worth it even if it did not work its only $20.
Its also built pretty well and should last a long time.
A+

Picks up stations up to 50 miles away from indoors! Just submitted order to get a second one. Digital stations can be a pain because it is all or nothing, but once they get locked in, it looks amazing. The amp on this antenna and price are worth it compared to ones at the discount stores.

Hooked it up right out of the box - works fine with no issues. very powerful.
Due to my laziness and where my room is in the rented house i have yet to mount it outside. If i do i would get 2 extra channels in my area, but since their both home shopping and one is a spanish speaking station, i can do without.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a HDTV indoor outdoor antenna.

FOR 22 BUCKS YOU CANT BEAT THIS GREAT LITTLE ANTENNA. I PUT IT ON THE ROOF ON MY OLD DISH ANTENNA BRACKET IN MILLSBORO DE. 19966 AND I PICK UP 15 STATIONS WITH 3 TVS HOOKED UP. IT BEATS PAYING FOR CABLE OR THE DISH! I HAVE ANOTHER 1 IN THE BACK BEDROOM WHERE ITS TOO FAR TO REACH THE ANTENNA ON THE ROOF AND IT PICKS UP 7 STATIONS. I WILL BE RUNNING CABLE TO THE ROOF ANTENNA AND IT WILL HAVE 4 TVS HOOKED UP AND I AM SURE IT WILL DO FINE!!! MY BOYS LOVE IT CAUSE WE GET THE PHILLIES WHERE YOU CANT GET THEM WITH CABLE OR THE DISH. TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT.

Great product
|
The antenna works as promised with no issues. I get as many channels I would expect and I even have the antenna tucked away in a book room closet. The bendable stem lets you angle the antenna where you need it. Also, the mounting is easy and can be done in any direction due to the aforementioned stem. I went for this level of antenna because I wanted the best quality that could give me the greatest advantage at pulling in stations. This is not a tiny antenna so mounting this behind some TVs may be difficult. In my situation I was mounting this in a makeshift AV closet so the size was not a problem.

Another success story
|
Since I don't have the technology background to comment on its design, I can only say that the antenna works great in my house showing all the channels that I couldn't see in the past. However, it does require electrical power (comes with an adapter ostensibly to boost the signal) in order to work so keep that in mind when thinking about where to place the antenna.

Free TV!!
|
I can honestly say this was one of the best purchases I've ever made. The antenna showed up and I was very skeptical because of its size and weight (doesn't hardly weigh a thing). I hooked it up, mounted it on the side of my house about 20 ft off the ground (very easy to do) and pointed it in the general direction I found using antennaweb.org. I then scanned for channels on my new Vizio HD TV and it found 45 channels. The HD channels are crystal clear and remained clear through a nasty storm we had the other night. I haven't had to touch it since.
I highly recommend this antenna to anyone who wants to ditch their cable/satellite TV. We're going to save a ton of money with this one! Like $950 a year!

WOW!
|
OK, here is the story...... Bought our first HDTV, a 52 inch Sony Z series. We live in the NY capital area. DO NOT LIKE our cable company (TWALBANY) to put it mildly. So I bought this little antenna as just one more source of input. I installed it in the attic of a two story house. (also bought a 50 foot RG6 cable) And WOW ! All local channels in HD + channels from western MA and half way to NY City. 26 in all + the TV guide channel from sony. 10 Min. install ,,,,,,,, Everything was in the box, even a very cool flex mounting system. Well worth the very little money it cost.

Works Great
|
I live about 15-16 miles away from the signals in KC. I am in SE Kansas City. This antenna is at ground level going though 2 inside walls and an exterior wall. Without the amplifier I pulled down about 15 channels. With the provided inline amplifier I pulled down ALL of the ATSC over the air channels. Windows media center 7 has full signal on all channels! GREAT purchase!
go to http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/Address.aspx to see what channels your ATSC tuner can pull down and what direction you need to point the antenna.

Lovin free HDTV

This antenna is almost the exact same one I bought at Radio Shack for $60. The day after the Radioshack purchase I saw this antenna on monoprice and figured I would compare the quality. The verdict? Same product with just some cosmetic differences. Same performance too. I returned the other product to Radioshack and pocketed the $30 I saved. I got the major channels I wanted and even found some I didn't know existed but now love. I get more channels than my neighbor who has an antenna mounted on his roof. Glad I started with this model.

WOW
|
I was very skeptical about the performance of this little replacement to my huge 1970's terrestrial antenna. All I can say is WOW. With my previous antenna, I had to rotate the antenna to pick up different channels. This turned out to be kind of an issue when shows would come on right after each other on different channels.
After installing this on the pole where the last antenna was (about 40' up) and randomly aiming it down the street, I get every conceivable channel in the area - even channels from over 40 miles away!
The best bang for the buck in such a tiny package.

I live in a rural area, nearly 40 miles from where the signals are generated. After I installed it outside on the eve of my house, and checked the channels, I receive a 90+ signal for all my local channels. There were even additional channels that I didn't know were out there. I recommend this antenna to everyone looking for a small simple install for "free" tv. Thank you Monoprice!

Works great, had it 4 months. Installed it indoors, out of sight behind the tv cabinet. I was able to aim it using the signal strength meter function on my tv.Even though it has to see thru several walls of my house, and it is only at knee level, the signal strength is excellent.

In a word, amazing! Very Small! Replaced rabbit ears with an amp. Getting San Diego AND LA signals from one antenna! Married it to the 100' quad shield (white) cable. Just stuck it on the balcony.... I will put it on the roof later. Amazing how small this unit is... Wind loading will NOT be an issue.

Suprised how well it works!
|
Tried this antenna both in the suburbs of Houston (Porter, Tx.) and San Diego (Poway,Ca.). To receive most all of area stations it should be mounted outdoors (it is quite a small powered antenna) and directed towards the transmitting towers. In the Ca. location it was mounted temporarily behind a screen in an upstairs open window. One has to play a bit with the orientation of the antenna to get the strongest reception on the maximum number of stations. Also found that by mounting the antenna horizontally one network station's reception improved dramatically while not causing any problems with the other stations. Definitely a great cost effective antenna for reception of over-the-air digital/HD signals.

This is a great antenna. I use it indoors and picks up all local stations except for one (because the tower is very far away) very well.

Very pleased with this antenna. Before I found this I had thought of making my own but now I don't need to. This picked up all the locals with no problems. I tried several from Radio Shack and Walmart before I settled on this one.

Good Things...
|
...really do come in small packages and at a great price!! My mom needed a new antenna and DTV box and being a good son I got her both and connected them up for her. Being in a townhome without an external antenna made reception difficult, but this great Monoprice antenna took that challenge and demolished it. I put the antenna in my old room on the second floor facing Chicago, which is a good 50+ miles away and plugged in the in-line amp. What we got was 35 clear channels and a very very happy mom!! I back fed the signal through the old cable connection in my room, put the antenna in the window and disconnected the splitter that the old Comcast cable came through outside. I installed an in-line coupler after putting on fresh compression F-connectors outside and wrapped this in a few layers of electrical tape to weather proof it. I re-did the F-connectors in the house and got an even stronger signal plus one more channel for a total of 36. Mom says thank you Monoprice!!

Buy this and save money
|
About the same product they sell at radio shack and pay half as much. Works great, brings in towers 150 to 200 miles away with no problem. I live in rural town with no close towers and everything works. I have mounted the antenna on the roof, you really need to when you don't live in a city, I have at least a 50 foot cable run to the tv.

Too small and too inexpensive to work this well.
|
The antenna is too small and too inexpensive to work as well as it does. I have it mounted outside on my roof and it pulls in all but one DTV station in my area. The station that's missing is independent and may not be broadcasting. Add me to the list of impressed and satisfied customers.

This Tiny Things Works
|
I hooked this up in my mother in-law's apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Her old roof antenna was only able to receive VHF signals. I attached this to a Pico Macom UVSJ UHF-VHF Band Separator-Combiner, and am using the UHF signal from this antenna, along with the VHF signal from the old roof antenna.
With this setup, I am able to receive all the local channels perfectly. I have this antenna sitting, indoors, on a window sill. My mother in-law is about 9 miles away from the Empire State Building and has a direct line of site.
This is one great product.

I live in the core of Toronto. With some adjusting I got 18 channels. It did take me a few try's but that is to be expected! The picture quality is sharper than the compressed cable box channels. Point this baby towards the CN Tower and you will get the most channels.

Talk about fast shipping
|
I placed my order on 3/1/2010 at 1:05PM for this antenna. During check out I was presented with several shipping options, one option was for Overnight Shipping for only $6.00US. Yeah right I thought to myself, like I can really get this overnighted for only $6.00. Well I went for it even though I had my doubts.
I went home that night, ate dinner, walked the dog, watched some Battlestar Galactica and went to bed. This morning 3/2/2010 at 9am I arrive at my office, sit down at my desk and on my desk is a brown shipping box. I think to myself there is just no way this is my new antenna. Sure enough. Monoprice had my new antenna in my hands in less then 20 hours. Monoprice, you people are freaking amazing. Amazing web page, amazing prices, amazing shipping rates and just outstanding products.
I have to be honest. You had my heart the first time I bought a 25-foot S-Video Cable for less then $10USD.
Thank you!

I wasn't expecting much with this antenna, as I have been disappointed before on similar models. However, my reception DID improve with the powered version of this antenna, just from using it inside, near a window. I have not tried it outside yet, but I am certain the reception would be even better using that option.

Excellent HD Antenna
|
Receives all majot networks with the antenna setup inside in the middle of my home. I am very anxious to set it up outside come spring to see if I get any more channels. I have two NBCs, 2 ABCs, a CBS, and four public access channels (Net1, 2, 3). Highly recommend this product.
Plus enjoy the horrible English instructions! Not that they are needed, it is easy to setup, like connecting a cable box.

Having read all the crazed reviews, I ordered one and just got this in the mail today. I hooked it up outside in my backyard on top of my fence which stands no more than 7 feet! This is really great since I live in a two story house and I only mounted this on my fence and receiving 22 channels in allall local channels come in really smoothly! Usually the worst channels I could never get are PBS and ABC but even with this it comes in really nice and no problems at all! I'm definitely gonna go back to Fry's electronics tomorrow and return a recently brought RCA HDTV antenna, which is really crap! So far I have tried three different antennas and I'm really happy with this one. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends!

great antenna

I tested this unit out on my RV as I do a good deal of camping. about 1/2 the campgrounds I visit offer cable but for thoes that dont the digital transition has been nothing but a thorn in my side. Now with most RV's comming standard with flat screen a good digital antenna is needed when cable is not provided. I tried this out in my back yard in Central NJ without mounting it just laying it up on the roof of the rig and I was blown away!! 23 channels was not what I was expecting. The unit is small, light and nicely designed. Just another outstanding product!!

There's nothing special about this antenna: It's cheap, durable, and it just works. I do like the feature of powering the antenna through the coax. Because I mount the antenna outside, this was the only way to go.

HD Channels
|
I just purchased Antenna and hooked it up last night. My house is in a low area and has always had problems receiving signals. Placed inside I received 9 channels all digital but no HD. As soon as I installed outside I received 16 channels and 6 being HD including all locals. This was a great buy and performed better than expected.

Good Quality
|
I only got 2 channels with this and I live in the Downtown area of Toronto, however I believe the lack of channels is due to nothing but apartments in my way and no high/clear sight. Other then that I left this antenna outside not attached to anything since Oct. It has been blown around my entire balcony, frozen to the ground, rain on and just generally taken a beaten. It still hasn't cracked/broken and when I tested it a few weeks back at another location it still worked!! So all I can say is that this is a pretty good quality antenna for the price.

The other reviewers were right! I was about to make myself the DYI one when I saw on one of the money saving website recommending this. I was very apprehensive about it but decided that if it did work I would've save myself a lot of time and frustration (have three kids - youngest is 1yr old so time is a precious commodity for me). I am so glad I ordered it and am kicking myself for not ordering more since the price shot back up $7. As one of the reviewers said I am now able to get at least thirty extra channels and probably more if I bother to look at the HD antennae website for the best direction to point it. I'm hoping that it'll go on sale again so I can pick one up for my family and relatives. C'mon MONOPRICE...I'm begging pretty please!!!??? :)

Amazing Antenna
|
Based on positive reviews I decided to give this antenna a try. I live in a dinky little town in South Carolina, out in farm country. I connected the antenna to a 27" Vizio HDTV in my 2nd story bedroom and set it on the dresser with my TV - behind vertical blinds, behind a sliding glass door. When I ran the channel scan on the TV it found 41 digital channels! 41!!! Needless to say, I highly recommend this antenna.

Had to exercise some patience waiting for delivery in Canada. Was worth the wait. Much smaller than I anticipated. Hooked it up the same night. Left it on the floor of my basement. After scanning I got 10 analog/8 digital ...well beyond what I had with an indoor 50db Phillips antenna.
Set it up outside this weekend - temporarily in my front garden. I am upto 12 analog/ 20 digital with good signal strength, stable picture. Getting most available channels apart from fringe channels identified by tvfool. The analog channels are also coming in with fairly decent reception.
Highly recommend this antenna - given the price.

Just Awesome!!
|
Great/ SUPERB antenna for our new Sony Bravia! My Initial plan was to install this outdoors for the best reception, but since it was snowing that weekend during the project install, I tried "installing" it on top of an indoor coat closet and you know what, it worked great! Got all the available HD broadcast in our area in one scan. Now it stays indoors which should prolong the life of the antenna. Not that it was poorly constructed, it is actually ruggedly constructed and I believe would withstand the elements. It actually is a pity putting this outdoor because it is packaged so great that it is not out of place indoors.
Being amplified was a plus, 'cause I didn't know it was, but it just gave it that additional boost of reception. And how the amplifier unit can be positioned anywhere in series with the antenna cable is great. Unlike those that are hardwired near the antenna plate.

Great product
|
Have Direct TV with HD in family room, but not in the bedroom on the new 32" Vizio so bought this to at least get the local channels. Was not confident as our 'view' of the TV antennas on the 3000' mountain to the south is blocked by a smaller mountain and forest- but... hooked it up, switched TV input to Cable Antenna and hit search. Found 19 channels! Have full hd on all locals plus PBS, FOX, and others. This with it just sitting on the dresser next to the TV. Will put it on the roof when the weather breaks and see what else comes in. Great product!!

Small foot print, yet gets a good enough signal
|
Just thought I write a small review as I was impressed with this little guy. I have owned it for about 4 weeks and I am fairly happy with it. I am in Ajax, Canada, about 50km east of the CN Tower. When I tried to use this antenna indoors, I didn't have much luck. Then I placed it out on the side of the house, and waw .. I pulled in at least 6 HD channels no problem. Due to my location, I have to make a choice, either point it south, and get buffalo/niagara or south west to get local CN tower channels. So, it is direction specific.
Summary: Pros: Good reception, small foot print and has a level of elegance to it (yes, that is subjective) Cons: Angle of reception is not very wide
Hope this helps.

HDTV Antenna works remarkably well
|
When I first looked at this antenna I was encouraged by all the 10 star ratings, but a bit apprehensive at the 1 star ratings (I wish they wouldn't bunch all of the 10 star ratings first. I think it is more important to see recent ratings, especially if the product changes over time). When I first received the unit, I was bit underwhelmed as it is fairly small and I didn't see how it could work very well. That said I have to admit I am pretty impressed with this. I only have it installed inside for now (Minnesota winters tend to be a bit brutal for working on a snow covered roof in January), but I already receive three times the channels I did on my old rabbit ears, and that's with it laying on the floor in front of my TV. I am looking forward to getting it installed outside when weather permits. I live in a southern suburb of the Twin Cities and the broadcast towers are in a northern suburb. According to Antennaweb.org I am about 23 miles from the broadcast towers where most of the channels are broadcast from. This antenna performed much better than a power boosted Phillips antenna that I paid $40 for (and hastily returned). I don't usually give glowing reviews for service as I believe most vendors do their best to get orders to you. However, this is the first time I have ever ordered from Monoprice and I am very impressed with the speed of service. They had the order filled and UPS tracking info entered on the same day I placed the order. Their prices are excellant compared to other web sites and the quality of the product is very good. I will definitely use them again.

2nd times a charm
|
I had originally purchased 2 of these for my home many months ago and returned them because of horrible interference I was getting on 90% of the channels. I believe the problem was that I was using them inside.
It was on sale and decided to try it again. This time I installed it outside thus connecting the antenna to all of the televisions in my house. Let me say this. We could not get NBC in our home with any antenna we tried and even went online to AntennaWeb.com and found out it would not be possible for us to get the channel unless we purchased a very powerful antenna. Well low and behold we get NBC and every other antenna channel we can get crystal clear on our our HDTVs.

|
I have a TV below grade in my basement and could only get 4 channels to come in with an amplified RCA antenna. So I bought this antenna and I now recieve 22. I installed this antenna in my basement aimed out a window, so I was very surprised when I also got reception from stations who's towers are 34 and 38 miles away respectively. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to any of my family and friends. Thanks monoprice.

I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada and with this antenna I am able to get all the HD & analog channels in my city crystal clear, well worth the money. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS ANTENNA, IT IS GREAT, YOU'LL BE HAPPY. P.S. I presently get 14 analog and 6 HD channels...not bad and I'm sure once all channels go digital in Canada, I will receive more.

Amazing!
|
I was a skeptic. But I'm sold now! This is a great deal on a great product. Simple to hook up, and everything included. Monoprice shipped quickly. I now get all the networks in HD... they are perfectly clear. This antenna is very lightweight and comes with mounting hardware for a variety of mounting options. Mine is just laying behind the set! And I still am getting great reception!

Fantastic HD Antena
|
Fantastic Antena. I'm in SoCal Orange County area and the antena picked up 80+ channels INSIDE the house. I placed the antena inside the house by the window and I was amazed at how many channels it found. Eventually, the antena will go outside, but I was totally blown away with the images in our HD LCD TV.
Like the other poster said, I am getting 80-85% of the channels I currently get with Time Warner HD box. Monoprice had a special and for 16 bucks, you cannot beat the price nor service. Got it next day for 5 bucks shipping!
Great company, great product.

remarkable performance
|
I can't believe how well this antenna works. I live on the north shore of long island (kings park). I am about 40 miles from the transmitters. I get NBC (NY and CT), FOX (NY and CT), ABC (CT) and many others. My friend has a big old school style winegard and gets the same channels I do!!!! I faced the antenna what would seam 180 degrees off. I got the best reception with the face pointed away from the towers. I am pointed towards the CT stations BTW. You cannot beat this antenna for the price!!!! I just noticed it is on sale. It's a steal!!!
You really need to play with the direction and placement of the antenna. It will work well for you. I promise.
Monoprice!!!!!!!

Great Antenna for the Bucks
|
Great antenna. Mounted it on the outside wall on the south side of my house. Turned it toward the southwest in accordance antennaweb.org for he best reception for my address. I live in the city of Lansing, Mi. I am getting all local channels plus 3 more that are 41 miles (Fox66 Saginaw), (CH 41,& 43 Battle Creek) I blocked out (Ch 31 Ann Arbor) all the same ION programming as CH 43 giving me a total of 21 overall diff. channels including the sub channels or 27 channels with repeats and no additional adjustments needed. I disconnected the not so comcastic cable from the house and patched the this antenna into the existing system with 3 TVs connected and all are receiving very good reception. I am now free of yet another bill. Thanks! Great antenna for the money!

Much Better than the first one from HomeDepot
|
Purchased one from Home depot that didn't work nearly as good as the Monoprice one. I think it was a Phillips ($55). With the new one I picked up 31 channels. More than happy with it.

it is a real joy to review this product. We were having a real problem receiving signals from several of our local channels after the switch over. We ordered this product because my youngest son had purchased one and was very pleased with it. We are absolutely amazed at the difference in our reception. We not only get the channels we were getting before the switch over, but many new channels that we had never been able to receive. We ordered this product for our other son as one of his Christmas gifts. We would highly suggest that anyone that needs a new antenna for improved reception, ORDER THIS ONE !!

Antenna works great
|
I mounted this on the outside of our house, on the north side of the chimney. It took only a few minutes to install. Compared to our indoor amplified antenna's, this one is far superior. Only downside is that there is a signal amplifier that needs to be connected to a power outlet on the inside of the house. I hooked it up to a splitter and ran cable through the rest of the house. All available signals came in at maximum signal strength. Something that never happened with the other indoor antennas. For an inexpensive solution to poor digital reception, I would recommend this. FYI - I am about 30 miles from most antennas. W.Fargo, ND

cable/satellite replacement
|
I have not mounted the antenna yet but I did hook it up to the TV for a test drive. I screwed the cable to the TV 'F' connector and plugged in the booster. I set the TV input to antenna. I held the antenna by hand in the middle of the room and picked up nothing. So I stepped about 5 feet to the back door and balanced the antenna on the back glass door knob with the antenna pointing in the general direction of my local station towers. I pushed the auto program button on the TV remote and picked up 21 channels. The picture is amazing. I recieved local channels in 720P and 1080i. The picture, being uncompressed, is better than the same channel Di$h Network satellite signal. I imagine the antenna will pick up more channels when I have the time to mount it permanently outside. The mount can be used on a horizontal or vertical surface and the antenna will swivel horizontally on the mount allowing for adjustment . The antenna is small and lightweight and is unobtrusive. As usual, price and shipping from Monoprice is fast and hassle free.
