Drawing Tablet
Pros: One of the best writing tablets I've ever owned... This actually replace my Wacom.. Yeah crazy huh, anyway this work perfect for my design.. both video and graphic design. The best part is this thing actual drawing surface area is 10 inches! Some of the best out there are only 4" or at the most 8" and cost an arm and leg or two..

Cons: I don't use all the buttons, I wouldn't consider that a con though... it's added security for later :)

absolutely worth it
Pros: -you'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper tablet
-i don't have experience with other tablets, but this one performs well, IMO.
-the hotkeys on the left can be very useful

Cons: -the stylus is comes with feels a little cheap, though ordering a replacement was very inexpensive.
-installing the driver was a bit of a hassle, but not too bad. just google it.
- not all the programs i use recognized the hotkeys

a tablet not without some flaws, but one that performs admirably for its price. i recommend it for any begginer

Great Tablet for Beginning and Intermediate Artrists
I ordered this for my artist fiance who wanted to try another avenue in illustrating. He loves it. He says it's easy to adapt to and the programs were easy to install. He enjoys it thoroughly.

Excellent
Pros: Responsive
High Resolution
Cheap

Cons: No tilt sensitivity.

Quarter of the price of an equivalent Wacom. Pen feels a bit cheap, but everything else is fantastic.

Nice Tablet, not so great software
Pros: The price blew the competition out of the water. Works just fine, no problems yet.

Cons: The drivers available for the tablet aren't great. There could be more customization with the pressure sensitivity.

All in all its a good buy.

Pros: Very responsive and indicative of a real drawing apparatus.

Cons: Had a little trouble getting the drivers installed correctly, but may have been fault on my part. Wasn't compatible with Paint Tool SAI, but had Photoshop and worked fine.

Pretty good
Pros: Works great. I didn't have any troubles installing the drivers. I don't use the hotkeys, but it's nice that they are there. Nice and big.

Cons: It's bigger than i was expecting. Takes up a lot of room on my desk. Guess I should have paid more attention to the size.

See Pros and Cons. I would highly recommend this for the price over a Wacom or anything more expensive because for what I know it does the exact same thing. Great product.

Monoprice tablet w/ 16 hot-cells, and 8 hot-keys.
Pros: great price, delivered early, customized hot-keys, trackable shipping, HUGE workspace, 5 foot long cord, works as advertised

Cons: limited hot-key customization

Since this is my very first graphics tablet I will not try to compare this product with other brand names. I have owned my tablet for over a month now and have spent a lot of time going through the functions of the hot-keys, and hot-cells, and programming them to my needs.
Before buying this product I made sure to exhaust all the research possibilities I could find so I knew what I was getting into. There seemed to be countless reviews involving difficult driver install/set-ups, flimsy pen issues, and lack of tech support. Even though the negative reviews way outnumbered the positive reviews, I figured it was still worth the risk. I am very pleased to report that I have had none of the commonly negative issues. It appears that the driver issues have been resolved, as the instructions that came with my tablet were the opposite of what I found on Youtube, and most reviews.
Regarding the pen issues, I ordered the upgraded pen for ten bucks due to the reviews I've read. There are only 3 differences between the up-graded pen and the "stock" pen. 1.) the stock pen is a "push together" pen whereas the the upgraded is screw together 2.) the upgraded is 3/4 of an inch shorter than the stock pen 3.) (biggest issue with me) the stock pen has 2 buttons that protrude outside the barrel of the pen making them easy to locate without having to look, whereas the upgraded pens buttons are flush with the barrel of the pen and without any texture to aid in locating the buttons without having to look. I have remedied this with a couple dabs of silicone on the buttons. In short, I don't man-handle the stock pen like a caveman so other than having a back-up pen always at the ready I don't find it's necessary to buy the upgrade.
Regarding the tech support issue. I have had zero problems with functionality so I cannot advise on this issue. However, I will add that there is nothing out there to aid in customizing the hot-keys other than the vague user manual found at the Uc logic website, and good 'ol trial and error.
The only con I have is that the the 8 hot-keys can only perform 1 specified action regardless of which application/window you happen to have up front. For example, the +/zoom in button It would be awesome if this would control the zoom in while using my art program, and then increase the volume of my music while using multimedia. Sadly, the buttons cannot perform similar/like functions. It's either one or the other. I've found the best you can do is set a button to wheel up which will either zoom in, or scroll up much the same as a mouse wheel would do. That's all I've got, my apologies for the lengthy review. It is not my aim to be the most liked review, but the most accurate so I hope this helped.
Some resources you may want to consider are youtube, uc logic(drivers and user manuals), deviantart, retailmenot (for monopice coupons), and of course the reviews found here.

Pros: Low price, relative ease of use, great for any digital artist

Cons: Aside from a lack of art programs included in the set, not much

I wanted a digital tablet for the longest time, and this is the first tablet in my price range (I am what you call a starving artist). It caught my eye, and after reading a lot about it, including positive and negative reviews about the product (most of the negative comments came from folks who were already devoted to the majority brand on the market place), I bought it. Considering this was my first tablet purchase, I was amazed of how fluid it was to work with. I kind of wished there were some art programs included with the product (I had a few freeware products like MyPaint as well as bought some other programs that worked well with it like Manga Studio EX and SketchBook Pro), but it works better than I expected it to.

I'm just hoping the cord doesn't snag down the line. It's sturdy now, but I'm worried years down the line that may not be.

In the end, I dig it, and I recommend it.

Life saver!
Pros: Good Quality
Lighting fast shipping!
Easy installation!

I felt compelled to write a review because I saw so many reviews that talked about difficult installation. Before I received my order I was dreading the thought of having to spend hours installing it. Well I am pleased to say that after I received my graphic pad, the install took about 2 minutes! Im using Windows 7 64 bit. I dont know if they updated the drivers or not but I am soooo happy I ordered it! It works great. I also ordered the stylus upgrade and I really like it. I am so happy that Monoprice (odd name but whatever) has made this tool available to people at such a reasonable price! Thank you Monoprice :)

Great and inexpensive.
Pros: Great size, good drawing surface, buttons, works in Ubuntu

Cons: Pen is flimsy

Now that I've got this thing set up, I'm loving it. It's responsive and clean, nice smooth lines, very little wobbling.

Setting it up in Ubuntu was a bit of a trial for me, because I'm not very savvy. But with lots of googling, I was able to. Here are some rough instructions for anyone else doing it:

1. You have to manually upgrade to a newer kernel. I went with 3.8.2. Then the pen, pen buttons, and pressure sensitivity will work.
2. To get the side buttons working, you'll need to find out what they are and then map them to other keys. First run xev in terminal and go through each one. Then use xmodmap to remap each button to whatever you like.
3. The buttons along the top don't work. So it goes.

Hope that's helpful to somebody!

Pros: low price, hot keys and buttons, complete customization, light weight, large work space, very sensitive

Cons: none

For the average user of graphics tablets, I don't think anything can beat the Monoprice tablet range. I bought the 10x6.25 and splurged on getting the one with hot keys. Honestly, I wasn't sure how much I'd end up using the keys, but I thought I'd give it a try. The complete customizability of the hot keys and buttons is completely amazing, though. I changed a few around from their presets, but it was fast and simple, and they work perfectly. While there are a few compatibility issues with GIMP (since I am currently too poor to own a real program) but they are minor at worst, such as the zoom in and zoom out buttons not responding, or the "undo" key being over the close window button of the program itself. I didn't find either of these things to be difficult to overcome, and Monoprice reviews clearly stated that certain things were incompatible with GIMP from the beginning.

The tablet itself is very sensitive. I haven't had any problems or glitches with it. It has worked properly from the moment I opened the box and installed the software. I was worried that my ancient Wacom tablet drivers were going to cause problems (as some reviews warned me) but they were no problem whatsoever. I assume my Wacom was either too old for the drivers to be an issue, or this is a problem Monoprice has fixed.

Monoprice makes a good tablet, people. It's just my own experience, I know, but from what I can see these tablets are top notch with a low, low price tag. Shipping was ridiculously fast, too. Good product all around!

This tablet is boss
Pros: I am a beginner, this tablet is great. It was very easy to set up and just as easy to use. I have seen a lot of people complaining that the stylus was too flimsy, I felt like it was just right. Light, but durable. I feel like this is a fantastic item, and I am glad that I bought this instead of a higher priced item that would be the same thing in the long run. Also love the hot key buttons, being able to zoom in and out on the tablet makes life a lot easier.

Cons: Not too many cons. Only one for me, and this could have been something that I did wrong. The stylus is far too sensitive. Anytime I even get *near* the tablet, it starts making lines where I don't want them. Also, I keep having the right click function be activated when my fingers are nowhere near that part of the stylus. I've consigned myself to using the tablet for the sketch and then using my mouse to clean it up. I'm sure it's probably my fault.

All in all, I would high recommend this product.

mine doesn't work properly anymore
Pros: Looks good and worked ok when I first got it

Cons: Doesn't work properly - see my review for details.

After about a month, mine stopped working. Tech support was unable to offer a solution, and monoprice refused to pay for return shipping. So now it sits on a shelf!
Thanks monoprice.

The details
I purchased one of these about six months ago. There were a number of installation issues, but other than that it seemed to be working OK... for about a month, that is!
Then it began acting up. When I'd move the pen in one direction, it would go in the opposite direction on the screen. This persisted. I tried it on 5 different systems, both windows and mac. I emailed and chatted for days with tech support about the issue without success until finally I said, this is enough, I want a replacement.

By that time, I had gone past the 30 guarantee period, and I was told that I would have to pay for shipping! I checked into the shipping costs, and I was shocked. I live in Canada, so the return shipping costs nearly as much as the tablet itself!

Since Monoprice has refused to pay for return shipping, the product now sits on a shelf. I no longer use it. Thanks for a bum deal monoprice! I think I'll go shopping elsewhere.

Review on 10x6.25" Graphics Tablet w/ 8 Hot Key
Pros: The tablet pen is the best tablet pen I have ever used- I would say that the pressure sensitivity is greater than any Wacom tablet that I have used before. I was very happy to find that the tablet pen also comes with extra nibs.

Cons: When I use a hotkey, sometimes the tablet will not work properly afterwards and will not let me control+z in certain programs- but only after I have pressed a hotkey button.
Also, the driver disc that came with the tablet was completely useless- after I took the process step by step exactly as the instructions said and installed the tablet driver on my computer, the tablet would not work properly, even though I had taken all of the Wacom software that I had left over from a previous tablet completely off my computer. I uninstalled the driver, turned off the computer, and re-installed the driver again about three different times, and the tablet would still not work. After that, I eventually found help on an online forum on DeviantART about Monoprice tablets, and I followed a link and downloaded another driver for the tablet from another website. When I tried again, my tablet finally started working.

A very good quality tablet with extremely high pressure sensitivity and useful hotkeys- would recommend to any digital artist/animator. However, I did have a lot of trouble with the tablet to start off with and hope that the trouble I had with my tablet driver file from the disc the tablet came with was a one-off faulty product.

Tablet on Mac Mountain Lion
Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing major

Very nice, works excellent. No issues with stock drivers as others have had - just make sure battery is making contact with the terminals inside the stylus. Blue LED on tablet blinks once when plugged into USB port - then every time you touch stylus to surface of tablet. DO NOT USE USB HUB for connection, as lines on my drawings would be a bit jaggy after doing so.

Many happy photo edits and drawings.

BTW, Monoprice has been most excellent with me in the past. Great people make a great company!

not happy
Pros: cheap, works as good as a Wacom when it isnt acting like a dumbass

Cons: cheap, has issues with smooth cursor movement at slow speeds

While using the tablet with my laptop, cursor movements are jerky and sometimes not recognized. I have to press down with more force when I want to click on things. I can’t very well draw with it, as you can imagine. I get fed up with it after a few disconnected, badly drawn lines.

It didnt occur right away for me, but I noticed this problem within a day of using my brand new Monoprice Graphics Tablet. Sometimes the cursor is smooth, but often I randomly get instances stutter-y, jerky, imprecise movement for indeterminate amounts of time. As a matter of fact, this problem is acting up on me right now as I type this..

I was already immediately let-down by this thing’s lack of a “mouse mode”, but that was a known “issue” that I just plain neglected to realize and, in the end, is only a problem on a subjective level. This issue with jittery cursor movement, however, is not subjective and needs fixing.

This product does NOT live up to the hype.

Pros: Very versatile, large pad, and is very sensitive to touch. Bought it as a gift and they love it and have produced some very nice works so far.

Cons: Trouble matching it up with computer and getting it to work took a few hours but then after that there were no problems at all.

Great product for a great price. The hotkeys work and just make navigating around while keeping work open very easy.

Superb
Pros: Accuracy
Customizable hot zone and buttons
Price
Works with Lightroom4 and CS6
Easy installation on OSX
Latest included drivers ARE customizable for OSX

Cons: No cover. Surface scratches, but purely cosmetic
Can't speak to the pen. I read previous reviews and ordered upgrade pen 8297 at the same time.

Can't be more pleased with this purchase. Killer price!

I was a bit concerned about the lack of OSX support that I read in previous reviews, but the disk that came with mine installed with no problems (OSX 10.7.5 on my MBP). Pressure sensitivity, buttons and hot zones, etc fully customizable by the "TabletSetting" app installed in ~Applications/PenTabletSetting

Worked out of the box (after driver install above of course) with Lightroom4 and CS6. Works with GIMP 2.6.12 as a mouse, but if I spelunked GIMP's settings I could probably find where to activate pressure sensitivity but I don't use GIMP much anymore.

It is a large tablet, so that means it needs a chunk of desk real estate, and lots of movement of your hand and forearm to get from side to side and corner to corner. Not a con....that was my choice. I might downsize if I did it over again though.

Don't think, buy. You won't be disappointed.

Great hardware, questionable software
Pros: Great price, size is perfect, access to entire drawing surface in settings, great response time and resolution

Cons: Hard to install, driver conflicts with MS tablet drivers

I decided to give the Monoprice branded tablets a try instead of the more expensive Wacom Intuos 5 medium. The build quality for the macro buttons is a little weak, but the tablet itself is rather solid. The drawing surface is bigger than the $200+ Intuos 5 medium and although it only has half the pressure sensitivity levels, it should be plenty sufficient for drawing and CAD work for all but the most demanding professionals.

My biggest complaint is the software installation. On Windows 7 x64, it took me a couple hours to get the tablet installed and fully working. I followed the easy installation guide step by step, but once I plugged in the tablet, Windows decided to forego the pre-installed drivers from the CD and instead downloaded drivers from Windows update. This caused the tablet to be treated like a generic tablet/mouse which meant the hot keys weren't working correctly and the pressure sensitivity was disabled. It took me nearly an hour to identify the cause of the problem and at least another hour to clean my computer of the incorrect drivers and then re-install the provided software and the tablet while keeping my computer from downloading new drivers from Microsoft. This is likely more Microsoft's fault than Monoprice's, but there should be instructions to disable and/or cancel automatic driver downloads prior to installing the tablet in the manual. This would have saved me quite a bit of time. Once I had gotten the computer to use the correct drivers, I had full pressure sensitivity in all my programs.

Overall great product, would highly recommend!

Pros: Price
Functionality
Size

Cons: Don't use DHL Express if you are expecting a 'guarenteed 2 day delivery'

Works great for the price. Some of the software that comes with it doesn't work with windows 7, but I was aware of that before I ordered it. For my purpose I should have ordered the one without the additional buttons. Pen feels 'flimsy' but it works fine. Don't use DHL Express if you are expecting a 'guarenteed 2 day delivery'. Mine took a week after it indicated it was sitting in a different city for a few days with no activity. Do not know how long it would have taken if I hadn't phoned and asked why it wasn't being shipped.

Monoprice Graphics Tablet
Pros: Works somewhat and took over 3 weeks to get here. I blame the post office as it was over the holidays. Works wit Photoshop Cs5, Paint Shop Pro. Haven't got it to work with paint.net (my Favorite Paint Program) but it is probably a config option and will work wit it some more today.

Cons: Desperately need 64bit Driver for windows 7 Pro and Ultimate. Does not work with the 3d Programs I use such as 3ds Max, Lightwave, Carrara and Daz Studio. All 64 bit programs.

I like the feel of the pen on the board as well as all the function keys both on the left side and across the top. Good product and if it had the 64bit driver for Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate.

Pros: lightweight, high sensitivity

Cons: sort of loud?

This tablet is fantastic. I was a bit dubious of the low price tag but took a chance and got it anyway. It shipped very quickly and worked perfectly right out of the box. This is my very first traditional tablet (I had a Gateway tablet PC before this, which I could draw directly on the screen of), and I was worried it would be strange or difficult to use, but it feels very natural and I was used to it within minuets.

I use this tablet daily and so far have had no issues. It's a very durable tablet, despite being so thin and lightweight.

It's very sensitive, which I adore. I'm able to create fine details and light lines very easily, and it's easy to get just the look I want in my pen strokes when drawing. I was a bit nervous at first to press harder to get darker/more solid lines (because I've never had a tablet like this and didn't want to damage it) but this tablet can definitely handle it and has no marks or anything so far, even when I do press hard.

The drawing area has a very slight toothy texture to it, which can be a tad noisy if you're using the pen intensely due to how the nip rubs against it. (Scratch your nails against your laptop trackpad or against a desk it's like that.) It's not that bad, and it's not something I even notice unless I think about it/music I'm listening to goes silent or something, but that's literally the only con I can think of.

Overall I think this is a great tablet for both casual users and for people who want a serious drawing tablet for their art, as I use mine in both ways and have not been let down yet.

Good but go to Sleep too quickly
Pros: Very sensitive and the 8 shortcut buttons are very useless. Well built.

Cons: Seems to go to sleep in a few minutes and not 30mins. I need to Double Tap it to wake the "pen" up.
At first, I thought it might be a battery connection problem.

First hour of using it and it is replacing my 12 year old Wacom (which is starting to behave strangely and no more new driver for it on OS X 10.8.2).

Functionality, it is working fine. I use it for PS and FCP and both seems to be working alright with it.

Only problem is it goes to this sleep mode very quickly and I cannot find anywhere to adjust the setting for this. It will be very troublesome because I want it to go to sleep at least only after 30mins of inactivity.

It went to sleep while I am writing this short review!! Is that normal?

If you ever think lowcost is low quality...YOU ARE WRONG
Pros: easy to use, thin, light, good pen sensitivity, hot-keys, programmable, works in WIN 7, works with CS5 and CS6

Cons: none so far

Man I love this tablet! Monoprice has really fast shipping. The tablet works perfectly with my Photoshop CS6 and my older CS5 with no issues, I am running WIN 7. Pen sensitivity is great. A graphics tablet is the way to go, and if you aren't sure of this then order this one...you won't be disappointed. My advice is to use this instead of your mouse so that you quickly become familiar with it.

Quality product serves it purpose.
Pros: Fantastic product for the price. Don't know why I waited so long to get one.

Cons: Function buttons are hard to press. If you use them a lot then your fingers might hurt at the end. The stock pen is cheaply made but it is working for me without any issue.

Sure you can spend 15 times more on a Wacom ... but why would you?? This tablet does the job. I bought it during a Monoprice promo at a rock bottom price and very happy with it. I use it with Photoshop CS6 all the time and it is a real time saver. If you are new with graphing tablets then at the beginning you have to get used to using one. But once you see the benefit of one, then you will become lot less dependent on a mouse.

Adequate
Pros: - Large workspace
- Hotkeys
- Just about as good if not better than a decent Wacom tablet

Cons: - Questionably faulty drivers
- Flimsy pen, that will from time to time, get stuck and only produce straight lines

This tablet was pretty much what I had expected, for the price I cannot complain because it certainly is a bargain and worth every penny.
The size is something that pornstars envy, and the hotkeys are pretty damn useful.
The only flaw in this product shows itself after you unplug it for the first time. The pen either drags like it just took a 10 ton shit, or the cursor hides in the corner like an emo kid on valentines day.
I quite literally have to uninstall the driver, restart my computer, reinstall it, and restart again to make it workably functional after unplugging it, granted that my computer doesn't get a wild hair up it's ass and try to automatically install it's own useless driver. *shudder*
On top of that, the pen upon its own accord will occasionally decide to draw straight lines... however this can be corrected by moving the nib with your teeth.

7/10 For it's faults, this is a pretty good tablet.
Wacom doesn't get much competition on the tablet market so that certainly makes this the little tablet that could.

Good buy
Pros: Great packageing and received in good condition. Good size to work with. Easy install and no problems in using. I am enjoying the operation of this tablet.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Good value for dollar spent.

i like it
Pros: Basic but still has the feel that i can go much farther then if i spent the bucko bucks for something with a fancy name.
I love the shortcuts

Cons: ummm don't like the stock pen.
Shortcut settings don't save on mac or i can't figure out how to. No big deal but i use my shortcuts alot.

I've been wanting to try my hand at digital artwork for a while now. I looked at the other brands and was floored by the prices some people are paying. Then when i was buying cables and junk from mono one day i saw this one on the home page. I said "This thing has to be crap at this price." I read every review and realized that there maybe something to it. So i bought it, not from here but amazon. Free shipping and no tax trumped the five dollars cheaper on the base price. When i got it in i hooked it to my mac book and started playing around with it on sketchbook. I have never had this much fun drawing and i'm getting better every time i practice. I can't draw with pencil and paper real well, damn erasers suck. But this even if you just do it for fun your not breaking the bank, but not leaving you like okay i've hit the limit on this. Mine did scratch but it doesn't effect how the pen glides on the surface. I don't care if it's not pretty, i want it to work and not cost me my my left leg. This does all that. Very happy and you should buy it.... right now.... seriously... buy the thing already or ill come to your house and make you buy it.... you know you want it!

2 monitors + Paint Tool SAI = DOESN'T WORK
Pros: Seems good for its size.
Hot keys can be held down for their function (like spacebar with the hand), non-obtrusive popup window with customizable text tells you what the function you just activated was
Pen is not too wright and a good size for someone with large hands like myself.
Seems sturdy enough.
Specs on pressure seem to be as advertised

Cons: WACOM tablet drivers MUST be uninstalled prior to using this, I found out the hard way. Otherwise the tablet driver config would not load.
Contains no documentation about product support, or where to find new drivers, which would be confusing to a less resourceful user.
MASSIVE DEALBREAKER ISSUE with Paint Tool SAI See below.

Multi-monitor + Paint Tool SAI users beware, this tablet is not for you.
Paint Tool SAI seems to have an issue where it maps itself to both monitors even though it only uses one. This is problematic as the tablet driver's monitor restriction DOESN'T override Paint Tool SAI, meaning whenever the program is in focus the tablet forgets its mapping restrictions and uses both monitors.

Now I don't know if this is a problem with the driver (last updated in 2011) or Paint Tool SAI (last update in 2008), but it doesn't matter as I highly doubt either will update to fix the problem. SAI's misc.ini file recognizes a problem with Wacom screen mapping in one of its settings, but my Wacom Babmboo Capture did not have this problem. Regardless of where the issue is, Wacom seem to have approached tablet driver monitor mapping in the last 4 years since SAI updated in a way that resolved the problem.

'But Sue!' you say, 'The tablet is great! Just disable your other monitor when you want to draw! You use Win7, its not hard and a similarly sized Intuos5 costs $435 on Amazon. Is it really worth spending that much just to have this piddly functionality?' At that point, maybe yes, because I like to entertain myself on the second monitor while drawing. The monitor cost $150, its added usefulness adds some variable worth, SAI cost $70. Not only that, I could probably expect that I would encounter some future issues with the unlikely never-to-be-updated driver software, and I don't to forever gimped just because my new easel is too small and doesn't play nice with my box of brushes. At least a Wacom WILL be supported for years to come, and I know that they will make sure it works well for the most number of people because you paid em the big bucks to do it. I know there are Wacom haters out there... but 'You get what you pay for' holds some kernel of truth, sometimes. Maybe it does here.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic. I mean yeah, maybe they WILL update the tablet driver. They want it to be Win8 compatible, right? Sure, maybe, but even if they do, whats the chance they will fix this issue? Probably slim, and I can't bank my $50 I spent on it. I would contact Monoprice for support, but I don't honestly think they can help me here since they aren't the driver programmers and the tablet is not faulty. I know this wont affect everyone. I am just the rare person that it doesn't quite work for, so I just have to shrug and say 'Well, it just sucks to be me I guess." Gonna have to return it and hope other people with this same niche problem see my post and can save themselves some grief too.

Good product, but a roll of the dice.
Pros: High quality tablet for less than $50. Responsive, well built with a good surface for drawing.

Cons: Had to RMA first one, would like the top menu to be blank so I can just add the name of whatever I've programmed to it (so instead of email, I might make it extrusion in zbrush, but it's still an email symbol on the tablet). For that matter, having a surface that tape likes so I can attach my own menu would be nice too.

First one had really bad jitter that made drawing impossible. Tried reinstalling drivers, different ports, etc. Finally RMA'd. The Monoprice RMA process is better than newegg - they paid for me to ship it back to them! Just received my new tablet, and it is jitter free so far. Great service on Monoprice's part!

Excellent Product
Pros: The tablet works really well, it is very accurate and set up was easy.

Cons: The driver that came with the tablet was out of date, but 60 secs with the on-line tech support pointed me in the right direction and after a quick download all is running smoothly.

A great product for an even better price. If you are interested in digital painting or drawing but don't want to splash out on anything expensive, this is a great first tablet.

Good Drawing Tablet
Pros: Accurate Sensitive Useful tool

Cons: App support for most updated apps

I bought one and then another one. It seems to be a good product however I am far from a power user for this type of product. I do some very minor photo editing and drawing and I find it a helpful tool. My 12 year old geek really loves it on the IMac

Pros: Great value, performance competitive with Wacom Intuos

Cons: Driver support patchy
Build quality leaves more to be desired

Tablet worked great system-wide. Must install Wacom drivers for Adobe applications to recognize that a tablet is connected, but worked great in CS5. Unfortunately Illustrator CS6 didn't work at all, and ultimately I sold this and bought an Intuos 5.

Still, a great tablet for beginner digital artists.

Preliminary review
Pros: Large drawing area for the price. Excellent specs for the price (better then Wacom Bamboo). Pressure sensitivity - excellent in programs that support the drivers

Cons: None so far

I needed to replace an old Wacom tablet that I put many miles on. This tablet is larger then my old Wacom - I like the size!. I also like the lightly textured drawing surface. The old Wacom had a smooth surface that always bothered me (I am a traditional artist as well as digital and always disliked the smooth plastic for drawing on).
I am working on a PC with Win 7. So far one program I tested does not support the drivers My Paint - a decent open source paint program. For those who use Art Rage - works great.
I am a freelance artist and do some digital painting, and odd photo manip work. I here a lot of talk about beginner tablet for anything not Wacom Intous. This is not really so. Yes premium tablets have advantages, but it is that artist wielding the instrument that makes most of the difference. This tablet looks more then capable for pro work. If you are on a tight budget - this sure looks like the best deal out there. I have other expenditures (need ram, a new printer) and do other work that does not require a tablet - so my decision was based on need vs. specs and the fact that I figured it would at least equal my old Wacom (It exceeds it easily). I will check back in to add to the review after I get it into my workflow and can offer more feedback.

by Uberzilla
Update review after 3 months of use. I have put some heavy use on the tablet with more then acceptable results. The only issue appears to be that the drivers which work flawlessly on my older WinXP system have a tendency to glitch on Win7. It is not a big issue. I merely have to unplug and plug tablet back in and open the tablet driver panel and select the pressure setting dialog tab. Once I do this the tablet starts working. I know that this would probably be fixed by reloading the drivers, or correcting a glitch in my system.
That is it for the bad ...now the good:
I purchased another tablet with better pressure sensitivity. It is actually a better feeling tablet, but I mostly this Monoprice tablet. The reason: The pressure range is very efficient. In other words the full 1024 ps range is very easy to get. On the better tablet, once I get past 1870 ps range (it's full range is 2048), I am really pressing hard. Bottom line is that the HA60 just gets the job done, and I actually find the preset buttons (zoom in and out, save, etc) handy. It is a very solid tablet - great deal. Will check back in farther down the road.

Outstanding value
Pros: Inexpensive
Easy to setup
Works with Illustrator and Photoshop

Cons: None

I bought this tablet for my daughter, an aspiring artist who wanted to start experimenting with digital graphics. It was very easy to setup - install the drivers, plug in the tablet, and it was ready to use. It was also recognized automatically by Photoshop and Illustrator. This is her first tablet so we have nothing to compare it to but so far she is thrilled with the performance.

We did have one problem on Windows 7 - every once in a while the pressure sensitivity of the pen would stop working. Sometimes a reboot would restore it sometimes not. After some research I discovered that you have to stop and disable the 'Tablet PC Input Service'. Apparently it messes with the pen driver and since disabling it we have had no problems with the pressure sensitivity.

No linux support
Pros: Works fine after working with a developer to make the linux driver work.

Cons: Needed to work with a developer to make the linux driver work.

Now it works in Linux, but probably you will need to compile your own kernel to make it work.

Pros: Cheap
Easy to use
Easy to learn
Easy to install
Seems sturdy and works consistently
Worked perfectly with every program I threw at it with little to no setup

Cons: The cord wasn't mounted at the top of the tablet, and it slid in and out. It had the mount, but it wasn't glued on. So I just put some super glue on it and it's great now. I should've sent it back, but I didn't see it worth the trouble. The product works fine.

But I though everyone should still know it happened.

I'm a learner and this is absolutely wonderful, the learning curve of using it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm still an amateur artist, but I thought I would've spent weeks trying to get used to doodling like I do on paper on screen, but this wasn't the case. It's very natural to use.

I still hit the buttons on the pen on accident sometimes, so I purchased the replacement pen, which I have trouble FINDING the buttons on. But I still use them both happily, and I'm getting better with them!

Pretty darn good
Pros: Value: for the money, you can't beat it. Lots of space, thin, easy on the wrist. Responsive.

Cons: Cable is a little wobbly attaching to the board, but looks easy to replace if need be.

I was looking for a larger tablet. I'd been using a Wacom Graphire 3 for almost ten years and wanted something that would allow me to use larger strokes and pull from the arm and not the wrist as much. Ordered on the weekend, got it on Wednesday from one coast to the other and still paid less than a new Bamboo.

Nice packaging. Nothing shaking in the box when I got it. Installed like a breeze with Mountain Lion and does not interfere with the Wacom drivers at all. I can swap back and forth. Cord is a good length for my laptop, but you might need an extension for a desktop, but it's the EXACT same length as my Wacom. Tablet is really designed for right handers, hence the cable on top, but it can be used left handed. I would like to see the cable be detachable and a usb port on both sides to accomodate whatever hand you use.

I was tossing between the 12x9 and this and went with this. Glad I did. Tablet is same size as my Macbook Pro 15" when closed. Fits nicely in the bag. The 12" wouldn't have been able to do this. Sensitivity is really good on this. Tracking is excellent. Something you have to get used to is the absolute tracking of the tablet. There's no lift and move like a Wacom, but I kind of like knowing where things are like this. I like the hot keys, but it would have made more sense if they didn't duplicate cut, copy and paste. Each are programmable and I use the left hot keys to open support programs like Art Directors Toolkit and Color Schemer.

The build quality is actually pretty good for the price point. Feels somewhat hollow, but has a nice weight. Also has nice wide non skid pads on the bottom.

Works with every program so far. Photoshop, Sketchbook, Painter, MS Office and just for general use as a mouse.

Overall, you can't beat this deal. I could buy six of these and still wouldn't use as much money to buy a medium Intuos.

by Rich
Now that I've had this for a week I can expand on my last comments. First, I'm the curious type, so of course I took the bottom off to take a peek inside. There really isn't a lot of wasted space. The top of the tablet is that thick because of the circuit board. What did alleviate my fear of jerking the cable is that there is a stopper inside that prevents the cord from being pulled. With the help of a handy label maker, I labeled the hot keys and hot spots I rearranged to my liking. No guessing.

One surprise. I like the standard pen better than the extra pen I ordered with the tablet. It's a little longer and tapered, which I like. The other is just cylindrical and has a clip I'll never use. Unlike other people I've read about, the buttons on the standard pen don't get in my way. If you're used to using a Graphire, like me, it's completely familiar and I don't press the buttons by accident.

I still wish the cord was on the side because putting the tablet in front of the laptop causes an uneven gap. Funny thing, I was doing some mouse work with the Graphire and I needed to switch to the pen and it seemed so difficult to draw a line after having twice as much pressure to use. I'm liking this tablet. It's a great deal.

This is the only tablet you NEED!
Pros: Stylish
Well made
Thin and portable
Easy to use
Comfortable
Intuitive

Cons: Could be a bit heavier and/or thicker.. but these are simply MY preferences, not cons.

This unit is simply amazing. Same or better specs of units that cost 4x as much. Pick one up, you will never regret your purchase.

Works great
Pros: Inexpensive. Works fantastic. For the price I don't think you could find anything better. For twice the price I don't think you could find anything better.

I bought this tablet to use for some digital painting. I have owned it for 2 months and I couldn't be happier. The drawing surface is big enough to not run out of room when you are wielding the pen. The pen feels good in the hand and has good pressure sensitivity. At the price the decision to purchase is really a no brainer. Outstanding product and value.

Works under linux
Pros: Tablet is awesome with 1024 pressure levels
Works on linux!

Cons: Takes some configuring to get on linux

To make this work on linux(I did it on LinuxMint 12 and 13)
open a terminal and type:
sudo modprobe -r usbhid
sudo modprobe usbhid "quirks=0x5543:0x0781:0x0040"

to make this change permanent, open a terminal and type:
gksudo gedit /etc/rc.local
then add these lines to this file:
modprobe -r usbhid
modprobe usbhid "quirks=0x5543:0x0781:0x0040"

if this file doesn't exist, or comes up completely empty(no comments or anything in it) then check online for where your rc.local file is for your distribution.

Works really well
Pros: Price, price, price!

Cons: Writing surface is very smooth, a more matte feel would give better feedback
Poor OS X software, poor included software in general

Very happy with the purchase. It works with my fiance's Mac. I had a bit of a hard time getting it going, and I think ultimately got my drivers from somewhere other than the included CD. My OS X drivers came from uc-logic.com Given that it is basically 1/10th of the price as a Wacom tablet it is definitely a great value. My only complaint was that compared to a Wacom tablet, the writing area is very slick, the other complaint is that the Monoprice tablet is very very light, the weight of the Wacom tablet makes me feel like it is more stable.

With that said, it does everything my neighbors $500 Wacom tablet does, and includes buttons the Wacom tablet did not. I would definitely buy this again.

Graphic Drawing Tablet
Pros: Accurate, Responsive, Light, Very easy to use, no complicated software to install, worked automatically with the program I use, settings are clearly defined and intuitive, and very fine degree of sensitivity.

Cons: Shape of the pen took some "getting used to"

I got this tablet so I could have better control editing photos and logo graphics on a program called Pixelmater for Mac. This tablet worked beautifully. I took it out of the box put the batteries in the pen plugged it into my computer and was able to use it immediately. I adjusted the settings to meet my needs and realized just how much control they offer for this awesome periphery! They didn't leave out any detail. When I began using it on projects I was currently working on without the tablet I found I was able to get much more done! Initially I didn't like the idea of having a USB tether to the computer, but I had plenty of slack to fit my needs. The shortcuts that come preprogrammed worked excellently and I find myself using them often. All-in-all buying this tablet was a great idea and I'm excited to see how much more I can accomplish now that I have the right tool for the job!

Pros: Large working area, physical buttons work well. Pen stand works well.

Cons: The virtual buttons can be a little temperamental. Cord isn't detachable. Pen's battery holder seems VERY flimsy.

This is a large tablet, and you'll certainly notice it when it comes. The row of physical buttons is nice to work with, and the hotcells are alright if they're working well that day. The included software is alright. Your tablet has to be plugged in /before/ GIMP is started or else it won't work properly, but that's a simple restart of a program, which isn't that difficult. I almost wish I'd gotten a smaller size sometimes because the whole thing is larger than my netbook, which is something I hadn't considered - the gutter around the edge of the tablet is large. Don't play around with the pent oo much in terms of opening it to replace the battery if you can help it, because it's a very flimsy construction inside holding it in.

Just what I was looking for!
Pros: Light weight, easy to install, easy to use, large size, great price!

Cons: Pre-programmed buttons mostly pointless.

I'm extremely glad I went with this brand for my tablet. The initial draw was the price, which is much lower than many of the well-known brands. It was an incredible find. The pen is very sensitive which makes it easy to use for illustration and graphic design, handwriting, or even just browsing the web. It's compatible with Photoshop and Microsoft Office, which is extremely handy. The only downside is that the pre-programmed buttons are mostly pointless because they're for things like MSN or Microsoft Exel, etc stuff that I don't use. But the buttons can be re-programmed you just have to remember that MSN is your Gmail, if that's what you change it to!

Amazing!
Pros: Works as good / better than my older Wacom tablet that was a MUCH more money!
Very easy to install!
Overall an amazing buy...get it before they catch the "hike up the price" bug

Cons: I wish (like the wacom) the pen didn't need a battery

Already the monoprice is being more used than my wacom. The pressure sensitivity is better!

One bug is when I first plug it in and use it in GIMP the cursor doesn't match up with the pen..a way around this bug is to move cursor and pen all the way to the right, out of the screen and off the active draw area than place it back on the screen. It should be normal after this.

The Monoprice tablet is the best drawing tablet available for the the money.
Pros: This tablet is hands-down the most potent and technically accurate tablet I've ever had the pleasure to try out. It beats my intuos3 and yiynova 10.1 inch graphic screen for sheer precision and is very responsive in manga studo 4 and paint tool SAI. I have primarily used this on an asus netbook and am still happy with how responsive it is.

the tablet is very light and has handy hotkeys located on the top of the drawing area.

Cons: the buttons on the left side are pretty easy to hit on accident.. and the most likely accidental button push is the one on the bottom on the left side.. and it happens to have the function to 'close' a window. sure enough... once or twice I hit the button and forgot to save my drawing.. convinced me to assign a different function in a hurry.

the pen has one of the most ill-conceived methods of battery installation I've ever seen.. It's only a matter of time before I try to line it up wrong and break something.. fortunately it has very long battery life.

for the price of admission.. there is NO better option on the market for hobbiests and professionals alike. You'd be doing yourself a service to pick one of these up!

For the Price you cant Beat it
Pros: As the title says, can beat it for the price, id like to see Wacom put out a 10x6.25 tablet for $50

Cons: No "eraser" as is commonly found on wacom pens

For $50 im not too concerned about AAA battery in the pen but it makes it heavier

when im using it the hair on my hand slightly stands up as if im picking up static, nothing major but a little annoying

I have used the tablet occasionally for the last few months, I am just a hobby artist.

The tablet is very responsive, the pressure sensitivity is great (better than my Asus EP121 and Wacom Bamboo Fun). The pen is satisfactory, as stated in the Cons it lacks an eraser that is found on many wacom pens. They are minor cons based on the price. A similar sized Wacom Intuous will set you back 10X as much (granted with many more features) but for me its just fine.

I havent read anything about this from anyone else but i seem to be getting a slight electric charge from the unit, when my hand touches the surface i can feel the hairs being attracted. Not enough to get a shock (if it did i would be concerned) just something i have noticed.

Better specs for much less $$$
Fast Shipping
EXCELLENT customer service - ease of ordering and follow up service (shipping tracking etc)

Cons: None.

Very large surface giving 1 to 1 ratio pretty much, on my laptop screen.
The pen that comes with it is OK so far, but I opted for the upgraded version when
I ordered, just in case. I'm in Canada and it arrived quickly with no problems or hang ups,
PLUS it was much less expensive getting from H.O. than the same model sold here.

Its a great unit, works well for graphics and general windows stuff, plus its a heck of lot cheaper than Wacom, at probably half the price, with no loss of functionality.

Pros: · Great price!
· The “canvas” size is big!

Cons: · Pen feels cheap and bulky.
· Hotkeys are quite useless.

First time using or purchasing a graphic tablet, or even writing a review for that matter!
A brief background: I have never purchased, used, or even really bothered to learn too much about pen tablets until recently. I've been doing freelance design for about 5-6 years, having most of my work been on websites. I sort of always assumed pens/tablets were not really for private use but more for “show” for stuff presentations, etc. After coming across a pretty great review from Ray Frenden (link for anyone interested: http://goo.gl/9QuXj) I went ahead and purchased it.

Here are my impressions after casual use over the span of about 2 weeks (keeping in mind I'd never used a pen tablet before):

— PEN
I don't think the pen is that great. The way the battery had to be aligned *perfectly* inside the pen or else the cap wouldn't close was a struggle. After a couple of tries I slightly bent the spring which didn't help, even though I wasn't really being all that forceful. Be careful I guess. It took about 10-15 minutes of “this doesn't feel right” to where I eventually raised back on the cap a tiny bit and it worked. It felt way too bulky initially but eventually I sort of just got used to it. I'd recommend you look around on the internet and find a different pen that'd work for this tablet.

— TABLET
A pretty good amount of “canvas” space. It fit nice under my desk and doesn't move when drawing or anything. My only real complaint about the tablet would have to be the “hot keys” on the surface of the actual drawing area. They are oddly arranged and the odds of anyone benefiting from these additional shortcuts is probably pretty slim.

Overall I'm really enjoying it. Highly recommended!

Pros: pressure sensitivity and speed tracking better than wacom intuos tablets.

Cons: none

I have 8 years in the videogames industry working daily with graphic tablets and 2D-3D softwares , this tablet is better and cheaper than wacom in my personal experience.
Easy to control the opacity and size while painting , also precise at both quick and slow brush strokes.

(tested on photoshop cs3 , painter 10 and paint tool SAI , windows xp64)

Amazing!!!
Pros: Great sensitivity
Easy to install (see review)
Good built quality
Great packaging (see review)
Large Size
Cheap Price
Flat
Doesn't detect anything besides pen (see cons)
Easy to configure software

Cons: HUGE - Although the tablet's active area is 10x6 prepare yourself to have the room for something that's a little smaller than the width of your keyboard, and a little taller.

The pen is detected any time that it's over the tablet, which isn't a bad thing, but will take some getting used to since it can detect it from like 6 inches above the surface.

Pen Battery Holster (see review)

I have been doing graphic design for almost ten years freelance, and have always wanted to get a real tablet, but I could never justify spending 300 dollars on one that was large enough to feel like I was using my 3 23" screens.

I originally used (until I got this) an old I-Pen tablet that was made for kids that I got when I worked at Toys R Us, and it has worked great the last decade or so.

The major difference between them was that the I-Pen didn't have sensitivity (just point, and click) and with the I-Pen the software didn't make the active area desktop relevant, so if I lifted the mouse on it, then the cursor would stay in place where as with this tablet, lifting the pen, and placing it elsewhere will move my cursor to the corresponding position of tablet location to screen location. (Top left corner of tablet = Top Left corner of screen.
This will take some getting used to, but other than that it's great. If I tilt the pen a little it will still work, which is great considering I started as a sketch artist, so being able to feather my lines is important.

The size is massive. I knew it was big, but I didn't know that there was an extra 3" on the top and left, and another 2" on the bottom, and 1" on the right side that were not usable. That comes out to a lot of wasted space besides the button area. I'm sure that this could be designed to be smaller, but for 50 bucks I'm not going to dock anything due to that.

The holster for the pen battery should, and could be changed. Although it's secure, it sure as hell doesn't feel like it. Installing the battery makes you feel like it's going to pop out, and fly at your eye. It holds it well but pushing the pen back together is a REALLY tight fit, and scares the living hell out of me as there's a good two inches of no support while you're cramming this thing back together.

It uses electronic signals to relay pen location, so this means that you don't have to worry about where you rest your palm, or anything like that, and since it's flat surfaced and beveled on the edges it flushes with your desk nicely (when you can find a place to put this monster...)

I installed the drivers from the website that people have listed before, restarted as it said, then plugged it in, and let it install all drivers. Waited a few minutes for cache to build on it, then unplugged, and re plugged, and it is working JUST fine on Windows 7 64 Bit Enterprise.
I didn't install the dual screen, as I have three, and it wouldn't have been of any use to me.

All in all...Buy this tablet, buy the replacement pen (it's built better) and make DAMN sure you buy some more nibs, beacuse once you get this thing you'll go through one just trying to get used to it!

Awesome
Cons: If you had another tablet previously installed, you'll need to uninstall the first one in some cases because there's a conflict between the drivers.

Pretty awesome tablet! I've never used another tablet that seemed better. I'm very pleased with it for the moment. Totally worth the price!

Really nice tablet, a few drawbacks
Pros: Good pressure sensitivity, large drawing area, lots of buttons, amazing price

Cons: No "mouse mode," cord does not disconnect, can't change speed/acceleration

The pressure sensitivity of this tablet is amazing. I'm used to working with a Wacom Bamboo, so the difference is astounding. Also the number of customizable hot buttons is incredible! The drawing area is bigger than a medium Intuos 4 and the stylus/tablet have a good feel about them.

The drivers were a little tricky to install, but they cooperated eventually. The menus for customizing my settings were hard to find - you have to go into the program folder itself. The lack of a "mouse mode" really threw me off at first ("mouse mode" being a setting that keeps the cursor in place when you lift your stylus). I'll have to get used to the cursor moving to wherever I touch the stylus to the tablet. Also the speed and acceleration of the stylus can't be changed, and I do wish the cord would fully disconnect from the tablet, since I tend to bring mine places with me. The pen takes a AAA battery, but it's really not an issue for me since they're easy to come by.

Overall this is an INCREDIBLE tablet for the price, and I'd recommend it to anyone on a budget. I do hope that in the future Monoprice allows for better customization of the tablet's settings.

Very Happy With Monoprice Drawing Tablet
Pros: Great Price
Drawing Tablet works great, I love the 4000 LPI, and the pen is responsive
Software and Driver were easy to install
It worked right out of the box with Vista
I like the buttons more than I thought I would on the side and top, great feature!

Cons: I wish the cord was a little longer, but it's fine.

Why I chose this particular tablet.
I wanted to be able to draw and the 10 x 6.25 Monoprice drawing tablet is very affordable, compared to a Wacom, which is not even in my price range. Plus the Monoprice tablet has features the Wacom lacks. My purchase decision was tipped in the favour of this particular Monoprice model not only by the good reviews but by the tablet's principle features, which were the 4000 lpi, higher pen sensitivity 200 RPS, and the ability to define the area of sensitivity so you can match the screen you are using. In my case I don't have a wide format monitor but I did want to future proof the tablet in case I ever got a bigger monitor. I didn't think I'd use the function buttons a lot but my experience at work led me to believe they would be useful. When the tablet arrived I was so pleased to find the software easy to install under Vista, remember install drivers and software first before you connect the USB tablet! I think I would have liked a slightly longer cord. I plugged it into a front USB on my HP desktop computer and that was perfect. I installed the software from the DVD and everything just worked. Although other people have thought the pen was flimsy, I didn't find this to be so. Although light, it is slightly heavier than a Wacom pen. The manual tells you how to open the pen up and insert the battery, no twisting! For this model just a straight pull to separate the two halves of the pen. Directions are in the manual. The idea of having a battery in it didn’t bother me at all. The pen is certainly responsive and comfortable in the hand. I checked out the control panel, accessible from the menu tray for ease of use to set up the pen to match my monitor. Now, I didn't think I was going to use the definable area at the top of the tablet much. So wrong! This is so handy, it and the buttons are user definable so you can associate programs with them. MS Word for example is one default. I set mine up for Open Office programs, Firefox and so on. The cut and paste functions, and left buttons, I left at their defaults. The feature that surprised me the most, and I'm finding so enjoyable, is the Windows Tablet PC Input Panel popup that shows up at the left side of the monitor. You can access this directly by clicking on it to pop it open, but almost any time you have a field where you can type text if you click in the field with the pen a little icon shows up and if you click on it you can write out what you want and click insert. Not only does it recognize my handwriting it also has editing functions so I can correct any mistakes. Totally enjoyable. Drawing, I downloaded a limited demo of Artrage 2 and I already have the GIMP 2x. Artrage works very nicely as does GIMP. I had to set up the pen inside GIMP's preferences panels, Input Devices/Configure Extended Input Devices... Pressure sensitivity is great in both programs. I can draw from light to dark without any issue whatsoever. The Monoprice tablet performs well and has more than met my expectations in every way. Thank you Monoprice!

Works great, here's some install tips
Pros: Great price
accurate
pressure sensitivity is smooth and the threshold is nice

Cons: No tilt (but for the price who cares?)
Hard to get drivers working (see below for tips)

First let me say that Wacom tablets are also a pain to install... so I don't really see this as something that makes it worse than Wacom.

The only issue I've had with this device is how hard it was to get windows to recognize the drivers, but that's because I had a wacom tablet before, and the drivers were conflicting. In the end this is what I had to do...

1. Delete all drivers for wacom and monoprice tablet, make sure tablet is unplugged and don't plug it in.
2. reboot computer (Don't skip this!)
3. Download drivers and software from http://www.uc-logic.com/en/index.php?ParentMenuID=4 then install both - do all the applications in the software package... for some reason it makes a difference and this is what stumped me for a while
4. reboot computer again (seriously, don't skip this)
5. ONLY AFTER ALL THIS plug in the tablet. It should work great now.

Now that everything is working this tablet is awesome, way better than my Wacom Bamboo is. I would highly suggest this purchase.

Almost a Wacom substitute
I am posting this review to add onto my earlier review, and note that the dual screen drivers DO glitch when you try to use Photoshop on your second screen. I am assuming it can happen with any application. However, I did find a working solution, which is to make your second screen the primary screen (i.e. the one the Windows task bar is on). This seems to completely resolve the issue. Still hoping for a driver update in the near future though as I'm very used to having my taskbar on my first (laptop) screen.

Almost a Wacom substitute
Pros: Very big for the price, easy to install & customize, very smooth and responsive drawing.

Cons: Buggy drivers for dual monitors, no functional eraser tip for the pen.

The main fault of this tablet is the drivers. The specific problem I have is, when I try to draw with a certain drawing program (Paint Tool SAI) on my second screen, the tablet constantly jumps between my first and second monitor even though I've set it to only draw on the second. The tablet does operate perfectly fine in Photoshop on my second screen. It's a strange bug that I've never encountered with my Wacom, but you get what you pay for. Maybe the drivers will be updated someday to correct this, but I won't hold my breath as it's from a Chinese manufacturer. Would be great if Monoprice could get the drivers worked on! If you only use one screen though, I'd highly recommend this tablet.

Great!
Pros: Sturdy
Nice shortcuts/hot keys (although I don't use them all so I disabled certain ones)
LARGE active area for price!

Cons: I honestly hate the blue LED light on left corner of the tablet (no big deal really it just doesn't help when you have a tinge of ADD... only part joking there haha)

It is a great tablet. Install the driver (like it says in GIANT letters when you first open the box) and you will be fine. Easy to customize the buttons if you so choose. I never installed the software included (I don't need them).

The little tablet that could.
Pros: See detailed review below or on my site: http://frenden.com/the-little-monoprice-graphics-tablet-that-could/

Cons: Pen needs a battery. It doesn't feel heavy in my hand, so not a big deal.

Monoprice makes graphics tablets? I thought they were just an outlet for cheap cables. It was news to me that they sell all sorts of audio, video, and computer accessories.

Their studio monitor headphones are highly rated by customers. As are their monitor arms. And their capacitive iPad styli. Hell, they even have USB-rechargeable portable speakers that are far better than they have any right to be given the price. I’ve bought, and liked, all of the above. And Monoprice’s fans are justifiably earned. They make good stuff, cheap, including graphics tablets. But, on those, I never bit.

When reviewing the Yiynova Cintiq alternative, I researched all of Wacom’s competition, learning that Yiynova uses a Waltop digitizer (digitizers being the flat hardware panel that interprets pen movement and translates it onscreen). I decided to buy a Monoprice stylus to see if it would work on a Waltop digitizer. It didn’t. This roused my curiosity. If the Monoprice wasn’t a Waltop based tablet, what was it?

My guess then was the Monoprice tablets used a Hanvon digitizer. Hanvon creates a full range of graphics tablets, most of which claim feature parity with their Wacom equivalents. Prices also tend to match their Wacom counterparts closely, so I see little reason most would take the leap of faith required to spend money on the less known brand, opting instead for the known quantity of Wacom tablets. [Edit: I've found, thanks to Gez in the comments on this article on my site, that the Monoprice tablets use UC Logic digitizers, a brand I hadn't found during my prior research.]

The Monoprice tablets are available at a price that doesn’t scare one away. Less than $50 nets you a 6.25“x10” tablet and around $80 will get you a larger 9“x12”. With those prices, and my inclination to try any tools I can, I ordered the 6.25“x10” tablet with low expectations. Something so cheap can’t possibly be good, right?

After spending a week with the 6.25“x10” Monoprice, my Yiynova and Cintiq remain unplugged and I gave my Intuos away to a friend. The Monoprice tracks subtle pressure variances and small movements with less lag and more crisp fidelity than any of the others. It is, put crudely, fucking awesome, in both OSX Lion and Windows 7 x64.

It holds accuracy at obscenely small levels even when zoomed way out, which is where most tablets falter. The following screen recording in OSX shows how stable the Monoprice tablet is in both pressure variance and fine detail.

The Monoprice performed flawlessly in OSX. This is welcome news. With most tablets, Wacom included, OSX has long felt a second class citizen with slightly less accuracy and more lag present in the drivers.

In the product description, on some of the tablets, the following is stated, “Note that the included software is not compatible with Mac OSX at all, while some are only compatible with Windows 2000/XP.” That statement is misleading. That text applies to the bonus software, not the drivers. You don’t want their Windows-only handwriting recognition shovelware anyhow. The drivers included on the CD installed without a hitch and the process to get the tablet running in OSX and Windows was painless. I suspect the above verbiage has scared off a few prospective purchasers and it’s a shame it’s worded so murkily on their site.

Hardware-wise, the stylus is a bit shorter and narrower than Wacom’s and is about the same weight. It rests comfortably in my oversized meat-paw. The pen requires a battery, but has no on-off switch. It turns on when you use it and off when idle. The battery has lasted over a week with constant use and shows no signs of giving up. The battery slot inside of the pen feels a bit cheap, but is soon forgotten after closing the pen back up and represents the singular negative aspect of the hardware. An aftermarket stylus is available for around $8. I found myself using the pack-in stylus more. Ten replacement nib packs are available for less than a dollar.

The tablet has a slightly textured surface and drawing feels tactile and a bit toothy. The hardware buttons worked fine and were fully customizable. Eight buttons is a lot to keep track of and I found myself using my keyboard more often than not when jamming on hot keys.

Included is a short video, sped up 2x, drawing in OSX with Manga Studio.

I bought a second 6.25“x10” for home before writing this review. I suspect the 9“x12” is a future purchase.

Drawing on the Monoprice leaves me feeling a bit punk rock. It’s better than it has any right to be – better than any of the other hardware I own. Its drivers outperform Wacom’s in OSX and I found myself making excuses to sit down and draw with it.

An off-brand graphics tablet by Monoprice out-performs tablets ten times more costly and replaced my Cintiq and Intuos tablets for daily use. Who would’a thunk it

Pros: Nice size and great price. I like the feel of the pen and I like the buttons on the tablet. No issue at all changing from mouse to pen. It works well with my embroidery digitizing program. I have only played with it a little using my graphics programs and have not really got that figured out yet. I am still trying to learn to use those programs and to use the pen and tablet with them so really cannot comment on that at this point.

Cons: I sometimes hit the the right click button on the pen by accident but I just need to pay more attention to the way I hold the pen and don't think that is going to be an issue.

I am 68 and have decided to learn computer graphics and machine embroidery digitizing. I have never used a pen tablet before. I have however worked with computers for over 30 years. I purchased this especially to use for the digitizing to help me be more precise in placing the nodes for the stitches. I had been looking at pen tablets for awhile now and decided on yours because of the size of the tablet and the very reasonable price. This arrived right on time. I leave it out on my desk with keyboard between it and my monitor and this works really well for me. I have had no problems with your Graphic Drawing Tablet. I am very happy I purchased this product.

Don't think twice...Get one!!
Pros: Price, ease of use and did I mention price?

Cons: none

Thinking of getting a drawing tablet? Get this one. Forget the big name, big buck drawing tablets, this one will do the job quite well. It is totally configurable. Hot key, hot spots on the tablet itself, screen to tablet ratio. I'm a lefty and thought that the hot keys might prove to be bothersome to me but they are not. I do a lot of work in Corel (and Inkscape) and this tablet work flawlessly. Some might think for the money you don't get a good tablet, guess what? They are wrong! Just got to the manufactures website and get the most current driver and you are set to go! Here is the URI: http://www.uc-logic.com/en/index.php?ParentMenuID=4

Repeat Buyer
Pros: Microsoft Office companion. Plenty of user customized shortcuts. Perfect lap Pointer/pad.

Cons: My cats find the platform irresistible and constantly pop themselves on top and click the buttons!

This is the second graphic tablet I've purchased from Monoprice. The first was the large tablet for my husband two years ago, who still uses it daily for drawing and in lieu of a mouse. He loves it!
As for the 10x6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet w/ 8 Hot Key, it's all mine. I have a physical disable affecting my hands and the keyboard and mouse were very painful and limited my usage. The pen is so easy to hold. The tablet works perfectly as an input device. It is also therapeutic. Thankfully it is tough. I am a bit hesitant to address the cost, only because they could charge a heap more. This is a fantastic graphic tablet for a very fair price. I didn't mind the original pen, I do prefer the available replacement pen as it is smaller and stays together. Also grab a few packs of the nibs as you'll love the tablet so much that you'll wear them out!
Software must be installed before hooking up tablet. Make sure to disable Windows driver auto install, or Windows will install a newer driver from Microsoft and you will have pen pressure problems. We are both using 64 bit Windows7.

Best possible value for money
Pros: Price, buttons, build, function

Cons: None

Don't let the price scare you: the price is low, but build quality and functionality are really high. I process a few thousand pictures every month, and this has been a huge boon. Every button, soft and hard, is customizable, and it works great with Win 7.

wow!
Pros: -Very responsive
-Price!!!
-Build quality. It feels very sturdy and I believe the backing is metal?
-It's very slim and very light for it's size. No warping or flex.
-Size
-Stylus holder!

Cons: -The stylus feels quite cheap
-Putting the battery in the first time made me nervous I was going to break it, aha.
-The tips wear out fast (Order the extras!)
-I do not like the hot keys along the top of the touch area, those are definitely not necessary.
(I went to settings and deleted all of the commands for those, I found I kept hitting the MSN and Web one.
-I had to unplug it and plug it back in a few times at first in order for it to recognize it fully, such as pressure.

One of the best "cheap" tablets I have ever used.
Seriously, the size is perfect, the build quality is great for the price, and it responds so well!
I used to have a Wacom until it died on me. I was planning to get a bigger intuos4 but wanted to try something different out (and didn't want to end up having a "raman week" aha. Also, this thing is so slim!

I would recommend this product to everyone, it's great.

My only problem is now that I have the tablet I find myself using the keyboard for hotkeys since I'm so used to it, so the extra keys on the tablet are necessary, but I definitely appreciate them when I use this product with my laptop!

Overall, it's a great tablet that won't break the bank.

Great Alternative
Pros: Large, Cheap, Thin, Lightweight

Cons: None!

Recently I began getting into art and wanted a sweet tablet to practice with. Of course, as anyone who researches tablets realize Wacom are the most advertised and the most expensive. Looked around for other options and soon remembered monoprice sold tablets and chose this one.

For a fraction of the price you can have a nice tablet that is large, durable, and works just as great as a Wacom. I've used Wacoms before quite a bit. This tablet does everything those did and with the price, I can have a significantly larger area. I know some people mentioned buying the other pen on monoprice's site. The one included I actually really like as I prefer taller, thicker pens. I did purchase the other one as well and it is definitely nice but the one included works just fine. You also get extra pen tips included which is a nice bonus.

Overall, I love my tablet. Use it tons and I didn't have to shell out tons of money on getting a nice, large tablet. The hotkeys are awesome, the size is just right. Definitely recommend.

Excellent tablet, I shouldn't have hesitated!
Pros: Price large surface area programmable hotkeys solid metal base with rubber feet.

Cons: Slightly flimsy rubber on stylus, but solid still.

My Monoprice 6814 tablet arrived yesterday, so I've been putting it through the wringer... bottom line, I love the thing! It only ran around the price of a new PC game including shipping.

It performs excellently, nice surface, solid metal back to prevent it from flexing or creaking at all, the hotkeys are fully programmable with the driver, etc. I did run into annoyances due to having a previous wacom driver installed when trying to load this tablet's driver, but once I figured out why it was having problems it was smooth from there.

I can't say I feel a HUGE difference from 512 levels on my old tiny Graphire4 (~4.6" by 3") on the 1024-level Monoprice one, but it's definitely there and noticeable when painting. I can't picture anything beyond 1024 being a real benefit, though.

Spec-wise and performance-wise this thing matches up with the Intuos4 otherwise, landing in size between the Medium and Large versions around six times and eight times the price respectively online of this Monoprice tablet) yet only ran me a minute price.

The larger surface is a pleasure to work with and gives more physical space when zoomed to each on-screen pixel area, resulting in better accuracy and control for me. Since it's a 16:10 ratio tablet it matches up well with my 3007WFP-HC (2560x1600) which has the same aspect ratio.

Definitely no hesitations recommending this to anyone needing a tablet, be it for fun or actual game production work. I've yet to experiment with 3d model sculpting on it or any tablet (only have done hand-painting of textures) but will do so soon. Can't recommend this enough to anyone, including professionals such as myself.

Good Tablet, Express keys do not "hold"
Pros: Good tablet. big size, nice pressure sensitivity. good delivery.
works with Photoshop CS5, Artrage, MyPaint, Artweaver, Paint.net, Gimp, etc..

Cons: I also tested it with Sculptris, Blender, Meshmixer and it works. HOWEVER!
the express keys on the left side are pretty much useless for sculpting apps
for like emulating the Ctrl, Alt, or Shift or Space Bar buttons as the express keys only "press once"
you cant hold the buttons down.. for instance, in Meshmixer rotate is Alt+left Mouse so you see..
since that button doesn't "hold" you will still have to use your keyboard..

I think if they updated the drivers they could include an option for "button hold" or one press hold press again to release, that would at least be helpful for spacebar menu's.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone on a budget.

Nice well-made tablet
January 2012
I'm very happy with this purchase, especially for the price.

The tablet software (i.e., the driver) is very easy to understand and use, to set the
tablet's parameters, pen pressure range, etc. Installed it on my Windows XP (SP3)
machine with absolutely no problem, and the tablet and pen functioned flawlessly as
soon as the USB cable was plugged in. (However, the installation menu on the CD is a
bit unclear about which of two drivers to install, they are named "dual monitor" and
"tablet/64bit". The first is actually the correct one for typical 32-bit computers (with either a single or dual monitor set-up.)

My tablet came with software driver v5.02, which is the most current (I checked the
original manufacturer's website 'u-c logic' to make sure.)

My previous tablet was an old Wacom, 12"X12" much too big, and I never used it's
entire surface area. That's why I opted for a smaller tablet this time. I set it up so that I use only a small portion of the active area of the pad (to get pen strokes that more quickly cover a particular area of my monitor screen.) Sounds a bit silly to waste some of the tablet's drawing area, but the extra unused tablet space makes an excellent wrist rest while drawingespecially if you like holding the tablet in your lap as I do.

It doesn't come with a screen protector, and I've noticed subtle fine scratches on the surface of the tablet after a week's use. Nothing to alter the tablet's performance, but I would recommended affixing something over the screen, like a thin sheet of plastic or some typing paper.

I actually like the somewhat hefty feel of the pen-with-battery, more 'substantial'
than the very lightweight stylus I used with my old Wacom tablet and it doesn't pick
up subtle nervous hand 'tics' like a lighter-weight pen woulda problem I always had
with my Wacom pen.

The battery is actually quite easy to install/remove, once you know how to do it
(although the printed quick-start guide doesn't explain this clearly or show a
diagram of it.) To open the pen, pull the two halves apart *without* twisting them.
(The two halves are held together simply by the frictiony rubber covering where your
fingers rest.) Yes, part of the battery holder clip looks a bit thin and weak, but
the trick to not breaking it this: Look closely at the open end of the upper part of
the pen you'll see a very slight molded-in recess, like a channel. The metal battery
clip 'slides' into this channel very nicely if the two pen halves are lined up properly. The combination actually helps hold the pen together rigidlya nice design element. (That's why the instructions say "Don't twist the upper half!" when
disassembling the pen it's a sure-fire way to bend or break that battery clip.)

I've never owned a tablet with express key *buttons* like this, and they make working so much easierto be pressed by 'feel', without having to take my eyes off the screen, instead of looking for the appropriate hot cell on the tablet or pressing a
keyboard key. I found it useful to rearrange several keys' default actions to
different hot keysso that, for example, a most-used operation is assigned to the
bottom button, where I can easily locate it by feel. The default eight actions can be
reprogrammed according to a menu list but oddly, not all of the keys' default
actions have corresponding actions in the listfor example, "cut", which by default
is the 2nd key from the top. If you wanted to reassign "cut", you would have to do it
as a series of keyboard commands instead (ctrl X, in my case.) Certainly not
difficult, just a bit cumbersome.

The one thing missing from the software is the ability to program a different set of
express key button commands for each different app you're using, switching between
profiles when you switch programs. (Same limitation with the hot cells across the
top.)

The tablet's instructions are a bit odd in places. For example, they emphatically
state that the pen "should not be placed tip-down in a pen holder" when not drawing,
as the pen might then be constantly 'on'. But that's exactly the type of pen holder
that's supplied with the tablet, so I decided to use it anyway.

In setting up my tablet, I discovered a few odd things about Windows itself, which
are no fault of the pen/tablet software. You're asked to set the pen's 'double-click
speed' for its tip (similar to how your mouse normally operates when double-clicking.) Interestingly, setting it for the pen *also* resets your regular mouse setting for the same function. And it works the other way, too: programming the mouse in Windows will then affect the tablet's pen. I would have assumed that the drivers(?) for the two devices would allow setting these particular parameters separately. Putting 2 + 2 together, it seems that the double-click speed is handled by Windows' own mouse driver, and the tablet's driver takes care of other parameters (pressure sensitivity, active screen area, etc.)

And here's something completely off-topic: This double-click speedno matter whether
you set in in the pen software or in Windows for the mousealso affects how fast you
can SCROLL through any folder of documents! (That is, the normal Windows operation
where you place your mouse or pen cursor in the scroll bars surrounding a folder,
while holding down the left mouse button.) With a 'slow' double-click setting, the
folder's contents scroll down slower, in a kind of 'stuttering' fashion with a 'fast' setting, the contents zip right by. (Why 'double-click speed' should affect this at all is a mystery.) So, if you install your tablet and notice an overall scrolling-speed change, it's not the tablet's fault, but with Windows itself.

Wow!
Pros: Price!!!! Function!!!! Sturdy and well constructed! Worked right out of the box - no loading drivers, software or anything.

Cons: The USB cable should have a jack at the tablet end instead of being hard-wired...

I have restored photos for many years, using only a mouse. I always wanted to try a tablet but didn't want to spend the big bucks just to see if it was useful. When this went on sale, I couldn't resist it. I can't believe how much faster and easier my job is!! This device is huge (and so is my monitor) and I thought it might be difficult to locate the cursor position. I was happy to discover that the cursor shows up when the pen is hovering above the tablet without contact. I quickly adapted to it and use it just as it came from the box. I haven't tried any of the included software or programmed any buttons yet, but this was the best purchase I have ever made!! For me it is comfortable to use in my lap with the top edge propped onto my desk in front of the keyboard. I love the size as it makes fine detail work easier.

Pros: - OS X Lion support
- Price
- Value

Cons: - The included pen feels .. well, disposable. Go ahead and treat yourself and buy the upgraded pen, save the included one as a backup.

Had a little trouble getting the tablet to function under Lion. The TabletSetting application kept hanging for 2 minutes then saying no tablet was found. And with out the driver being loaded, the cursor would only move along the Y-axis.

Think I had an issue with an old ShuttleXpress or SpaceNavigator driver. Anyway, after fixing that, re-installed the tablet driver, rebooted and all is good.

Did a quick test under Pixelmator, everything seems to work just fine. Pressure sensitivity works well, don't have to mash down on the nib or anything like that.

Overall, very happy with the purchase!

Graphics Tablet
Pros: Works well with many software packages, good resolution. Great price from Monoprice as usual!

Cons: Not the greatest build quality from a "feel" standpoint. Other than that, none!

Amazing basic tablet!
Pros: Mac compatible, easy to use, large drawing surface area, customizable, good pressure sensitivity, low price

Cons: Large overall surface area, flimsy cord, poor quality pen

I am an illustration student and I bought this tablet in place of one Wacom, which is the industry standard brand. I am very happy with the functionality of this tablet. I have used it in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop, and I prefer it over the Wacom Bamboos I use at school. It has a bigger drawing surface area and the pen is spring-loaded like the more expensive Wacom models. I have not noticed any big differences in pressure sensitivity between the Monoprice and the Bamboo. The customizable hotkeys are good bonus, though as I become more familiar with the software I tend to use keyboard hotkeys more, which makes the tablet hotkeys kind of useless for my purposes.

My only negative comments are that the connection between the tablet and the USB cord is flimsy-looking, and the pen that comes with the tablet is quite poor in quality, though it works just fine. I purchased the $10 silver replacement tablet pen - I find it feels much better in my hand and totally worth the small investment. The software is kind of low-tech, but it does the job.

Highly recommended tablet if you're not ready to invest a ton of money it the higher end Wacoms!

Great Product, Bad Support
Pros: There is not much to say here except for the fact that this tablet is amazing. Granted the product only runs to 1024 pressure levels that is more than enough for the average graphic artist (I believe). The size is more than enough to use and if the user does not like the top bar with the shortcuts they can disable it so that the pen can run right through without activating them. Talking about getting more space out of the pad, the settings can be adjusted too so that the tablet will size itself to the monitor screen ratio.

Cons: First and foremost is the support on this. There is no way to find the driver for the pen tablet, which is really a nuisance due to misplacement of the driver disc.

Another point to be deducted is the pen stability. Fast strokes work great, but if pen hovers or just draws slowly the pen staggers and zig-zags a lot! The pen compatibility isn't the greatest either.

This leads to my last point which is probably just a problem of mine. I have different tablets and different pens for the tablets. From what I understand pens can be crossed over and used on tablets besides the manufactured product. So, I tried using a pen from a different manufactured on the Monoprice tablet and it was just havoc. The cursor would fly everywhere making it an unsuitable to draw anything unless noise was the theme.

Not too bad of a piece, but more support for such an important equipment for people in the industry would be really nice.

Extremely fast shipping, good device
Pros: Was really really surprised with shipping - ordered on Friday night 5 pm got a package at my door at Monday evening. WOW. Way to go. Tablet itself is pretty good, bundled software is Ok, works just fine

Cons: Had some troubles with the pen - you will need to make sure you assemble pen with the arrow pointed exactly into the pen button, otherwise you can brake the pen.

This is very good device, no need to spend a fortune on famous Wacom tablets, fully fulfill my daughter needs for a fraction of a cost.

Hidden Gem
Pros: Almost a Wacom

Cons: Sometimes I miss the buttons on the pad itself and move the cursor instead. I know this is my fault but maybe there's a way to make that less likely to happen?

Fantastic product. The quality is great, very comparable to the much much more expensive Wacom. I really cannot complain for the price. If you are looking to try out a real graphics tablet but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, get this. Use it properly (read the instructions once), and it will not fail you. Great size for my widescreen desktop, by they way. Responsive, accurate, and easy to use. Love the extra buttons.

Enclosed battery may not be defective ... it is shrink wrapped !
Pros: Best shrink wrapping I have ever come across!

Cons: Enclosed battery may not be defective ... it is shrink wrapped !

A few people have commented that they had to swap out the enclosed pen battery with one of their own because it was defective... but that may not be the case .... because the enclosed battery may not be defective ... it is shrink wrapped !

I purchased three tablets for Christmas gifts ... and wanted to give them all a quickie test before stashing them away in my closet ... and when the second battery tested "dead" I got suspicious ... I even looked at it with a dentists style magnifying glass and could not see the covering ... but eventually I realized it was encased in plastic.... and retrieved the other "dead" battery from the trash can ... and after removing the covering it glowed away to its hearts content.

Haven't had time to do a really in depth test of them as graphic devices yet but ill get back after Christmas ... BTW I told Monoprice tech support about this little glitch so I hope they can advise others about this ... Maybe a little note in the manual could prove useful?

Great tablet for the price
Pros: Love the tablet - feels very sturdy.

Cons: The drawing pen that's included feels cheap.

I bought this because of the great price (compared to the name brand) for my daughter who loves to draw and wanted to experiment with digital drawing. She loves it. She actually asked for the smaller size 8x6 and I decided to get the larger 10x6.25 and she's glad I did. She will probably take it with her when she goes to college and I'll probably get another one for me.

Pros: Works perfectly. Incredible value. Highly recommended.

Cons: Lack of tilt support. Cannot map side-buttons to keyboard shortcuts (they must be used as mouse buttons).

Excellent product. Performs brilliantly.

Very good
Pros: The tablet itself is amazing and was simple and fast to setup. Every button is customize-able. Extremely cheap for such a large tablet size and great quality.

Cons: The pen that comes with the tablet feels kind of cheap.

Overall this pen tablet is amazing. The huge work-space, pressure sensitivity and programmable hotkeys together make an amazing deal. The pen is not the best but if it bothers you too much you can also get the Graphics Drawing Tablet Pen that Monoprice also sells. I recommend this tablet to anyone who wants great quality at a great low price.

It it sounds too good to be true...
Pros: Price, size, speed of shipping, not broken when I recieved it.

Cons: Hot-key buttons cheaply manufactured, shotty pen construction, pen needs AAA battery to function, poorly translated instruction manuals, pressure sensitivity is extremely rigid and unatural, frequent pen-to-tablet lag (especially in 64-bit applications).

I am a self-taught graphic artist and a student. Before purchasing this tablet, I was using a Wacom Bamboo ($70 5x3.5 inch). Wanting to upgrade my drawing space, I sought to find a larger, and more advanced graphic tablet. The Monoprice 6814 tablet had caught my eye with its excellent price and favorable reviews. Since then, I've recieved this product and had time to extensively explore its features. The shipping was quite fast, which is impressive. Installation wasn't too difficult, but as stated before, much of the manuals are written in broken english. The construction of the tablet itself isn't too bad, besides its cheap buttons. The pen however doesn't look like it would last more than a few months before breaking or getting lost. The software doesn't really do anything impressive. But the worst factor is the preferences for the 6814 tablet. On the lowest possible pressure settings you have to push down very hard to get thick lines. I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Corel Painter 11 in conjuction with a graphics tablet, and on both accounts this product unfortunately failed miserabley. If you're not frustrated by the inability of the tablet to correctly emmulate brush pressure, it's because you're too busy punching a hole through your wall in dissappointment. In closing, this product would be best suited for a photographer or the casual enthusiast. Graphic artists or digital painters should probably steer clear of the 6814, which is a shame because this is a seemingly great deal. You get what you pay for and after purchasing this product, that fact is painfully apparent.
