Pros: Inexpensive.
One day our WII passed away, its power light glowed no more. When I saw this replacement power supply on Monoprice I figured I'd get one and give it a try. Worked well, our WII is back from the grave! The kids are dancing again.

A great spare or replacement
|
Pros: looks like the original but with a crazy low price
Cons: actually fits a bit snug into the Wii (not excessively)
I'm so glad that this product worked!! No interference problem (I just had a bad experience with one I bought on ebay that I'm still trying to get my money back for). I wish I had known about Monoprice earlier - can't beat the price & they put their name on this product. I'm very pleased.
by simataas Update: So it turns out this product does cause just a little bit of interference on the TV screen - interference not evident with my original Nintendo power adapter. It is, however, very slight. In fact, once the screen transitions off the black intro screen it isn't really noticeable unless you're very close to the TV screen. Based on this I would change my review to a 7 or 8. However, I prefer this item over buying an expensive original replacement.

Why pay thrice the price elsewhere?
|
Pros: Slimmer than OEM product it replaced Works as advertised 1/3 the price of brick store prices
Cons: None
Our Wii stopped working after a freak lightning storm. I was hoping only the power adapter was affected. First, I looked at Monoprice ('cause that's how I roll). Then, I looked everywhere else. This place was cheapest, as usual. Got the product and.............. the Wii worked, just like before. :) Why spent thrice the price for the "official" product when this one looks, feels, smells, tastes, and works just the same?

Works great, we have had this since 3/2010 and it is still going strong, may have actually lasted us longer than the original. A great buy for a great price.

my wii works again
|
Pros: cheap, it works
Cons: not an OEM part, if you care about that
Ordered to replace a failed original nintendo unit after noticing that my wii wouldn't power on any longer. It works fine, no issues with the console since installing it.

Needed Another
|
Pros: I needed another Adaptor for my Business. I got tired of unplugging my own from behind my entertainment system. Now I just keep the second in my bag and just take the Wii system.
Cons: Well just like the original it so big. If it was smaller that would be great.

Works Great, Great Price
|
Pros: * Price * Works perfectly * Even looks like the original
The Power adapter on my Wii died randomly one day. So I needed a new one and didn't really want to spend the Nintendo price. I decided to check out Monoprice and found this item. Purchased it at a great price, got it really quick, and it works perfectly. Would definitely recommend if you need a 2nd adapter or are replacing a dead one.

Great Product for the price
|
Pros: Very Inexpensive
Cons: Seems low quality products based upon weight.
The product seems to be working just fine, we used this as an additional power supply so we don't have to move all the a/v devices to unplug the original power supply. This one seems a bit light on weight but it does seem to be working just fine. I haven't noticed any noises mentioned in the other review. So I'd give this a 'well worrth the price' review.

Worked great for a year
|
Pros: Cheap and didn't fry the Nintendo Wii.
Cons: Works, but started making a noise almost a year later.
Purchased 6/3/10 and has worked well. It technically still works, but it started making noise. At first I thought it was the Surge Protector and replaced it, but the noise was isolated to the Wii Power Adapter. For the price, I'm satisfied with how long it lasted but I may not purchase it again.

Just as good as OEM
|
Pros: Looks OEM, much cheaper than the Nintendo version
Cons: None so far
This is a replaclement power adapter for the Wii, I bought it with a sensor bar and component cable so our Wii could travel between 2 rooms without have to be rewired each time. Unlpug 3 cables form the Wii in one room, move and plug 3 cables into the Wii in the next room.
The Monoprice power adapter is basically identical in look and feel to the Nintendo version. it also functions identically. We have been using it a good 4 months now with some extended gaming sessions and never once ran into an issue, couldn't be happier.

Great price - hi pitched noise - don't like
|
Pros: Great price, same size and looks like original. Good spare unit for occasional use (I bought 2)
Cons: High pitched whine when simply plugged in. Even when the Wii is not powered on (or even plugged into this power adaptor. The only way to stop the high pitched hiss is to unplug the adaptor.
I bought two of these, one for each of two extra Wii locations (also bought 2 more sets of TV cables and sensor bars). My desire was to have it setup so the Wii can be easliy unplugged and moved to whichever of three locations desired, without disconnecting the cords (other than from the back of the Wii). I wanted it simple so I would not need to be involved. In the playroom (1st extra location) the noise is not noticable (power adaptor is behind enough stuff that the noise is not an issue). In the guest room (2nd extra location) the power adaptor ends up being noticable when the room is quite. At first I could not tell what was making the high pitched sound. I finally confirmed it was the adaptor, once I unplugged it from AC. I may move the Nintendo adaptor up to the guest room, as the noisy Monoprice one may not be noticed behind the entertainment stack... It's not terrible, just noticeable when all else is quiet!

Worthless
|
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Either doesn't work or produces a lot of noise
Purchased two. The first one didn't work but it was not worth RMA-ing. Ordered another one, and that one sort of works, but it produces so much electrical noise that not only affects the picture terribly, but it also affects the controller (or the sensor?). Stay away from this one.

Wii power supply
|
Pros: It works!
Cons: The device is considerably lighter in weight than the original power supply, but I guess that is why it was so inexpensive.
It is working and I haven't had any issues.

Great spare power adaptor
|
Pros: Looks like the original, works well.
Cons: None
This thing works great in helping us move our Wii between two TVs without having to fiddle with the rest of the components. We just unplug everything from the Wii downstairs, then bring it upstairs and plug it in to the power adapter, sensor bar, and video cable on the upstairs TV.

I purchased this, a second set of Wii component cables (also from Monoprice), and a second sensor bar to ease moving a Wii between two rooms. Considering the low cost of this item and the fact that it just plain "works," I see no reason to give it anything other than a "10."
