Very Smart
Pros: Wireless enough said

Cons: Zero

This is a great idea. Nice to get rid of a cord. Works great! Wish they made a wireless Kinect for XBOX.

Light and non bulky, not very powerful.
Pros: Lightest and slimmest one I could find... which is great if you plan on attaching it to your tv.
Super cheap!

Cons: It seems like you might not be able to stand very far from the sensor bar. If you plan on using it at a distance... I would look for something else.

The first one I received had a broken power button. No big deal because monoprice sent another for free. It uses 4 AAA batteries. It has a power button and led power light on the front. You click it down and the power light comes on (its on). Just click it again to turn it off. It comes with a clear stand you can attach to your tv. The double sided tape isn't very good though... but the sensor bar attaches and detaches from the stand well. I had some issues using it from around 8 feet away. I turned up the wii remote sensitivity and it was working great. Not sure how far away you can really get with this one.

Considering its small and easy to move... I would say you could put it anywhere to make up for its distance issue.

I think if you aren't really focused on screen accuracy and distance and just want something light, simple, small and without a cord... this is perfect.

Pros: Less wires to tangle between your TV and your Wii.

Cons: Limited range for Wiimotes.

While it did function wirelessly as promised, the overall reception range wasn't nearly as good as the wired sensor bar. I have since replaced it with an "extended Range" wireless sensor bar I found at Toys'R'Us.
If your room is fairly small this should work fine, otherwise the Wiimotes seem to cut in and out and it gets frustrating quickly. I noticed trouble starting around 14 feet back from the sensor (our couch is at 16 feet).

Cons: 1. Only comes in white. I would like black to match all of my other components for the system.

Wii wireless dud
Pros: It is sleek looking.

Cons: It didn't work...at least not well enough to be useful at all.
No instructions.

After trying for over an hour to get it to work, I gave up. I tried to put it in different positions...high, low, left right, sideways, etc. We saw the wii hand appear to a fraction of a second once or twice. In the end...I didn't pay much, so that's a plus. The wireless one that came w/ the wii works fine. Wish the wireless one did too.

Perfect for projector TV setup!
Pros: Works exactly as wired Wii sensor bar. Even with shipping, cheaper than other wireless options.

Cons: None.

The first one I received was defective. Monoprice sent me a new one that works perfectly. I moved my daughter's Wii to my basement projector TV home theater set up. I had two choices. (1) Put the Wii near the screen to use the OEM wired senor bar and run long cables to the projector. Or (2) put the Wii nearer the projector (my preferred option because I already had component video and L/R audio cables for a DVD player that I replaced with Blu Ray), but this would require a wireless sensor bar. Easy peasy. Install 4 AAA batteries, turn sensor bar on, and you're good to go. As others have said, no auto-off so you have to remember to turn the sensor bar off when you're done. And I'm not sure how long to expect for battery life (but I have plenty of re-chargeable AAA batteries, as well as regular AAAs, so no big deal). Plus my daughter isn't a heavy duty Wii user. She mostly plays when one of her friends comes over to visit. Even if you have your Wii near your TV, this is a great accessory to get rid of one more wire.

Sensor bar does not work
Pros: Wireless

Cons: Doesn't work

On the surface this is a great idea, but unfortunately it doesn't work. Sitting only 10 feet away from the sensor and with the sensor bar only 2 feet from the Wii console, the Wii hand will not move. I have to stand directly in front of the bar and I get the hand to appear, but it's still shaky and jumping all over the screen. For the price it's not worth the money it would cost to return it...so I'm just SOL.

It works
Pros: Fantastic then. Better function than using candles but it's not candles, which are nice to look at and smell pretty.

Cons: It's not actually candles. The wireless Wii sensor bar does not provide mood lighting nor is it scented.

This thing here, it works. But not like candles.

Pros: Easy to use, works right away, portable

Cons: No power indicator
No auto-off

I got this for my brother, as he takes his Wii to the occasional party and this makes setup a lot quicker.
It tidys up the home station also, but it's hard to know if it's on or not, and it's easy to forget to turn it off after an hour of play.

Wii Wireless Sensor bar
Pros: wireless

Cons: have to remember to turn off power button

This is exactly as described and works good so far. It's taking some getting used to in that you have to remember to turn it off after each use but that's to be expected.

Worked like a champ
Pros: - Inexpensive
- Easy setup
- Works as advertised

Cons: - Power button would get stuck, making it difficult to turn on and off
- Battery power is nice for no wires, but would've been nice to have another power option to avoid changing them out.

I have a projector which sits on the opposite side of the room and I needed a wireless solution to still play my wii on the big screen. I looked around online and saw that there were quite a few wireless sensor bars, but they had spotty reviews and seemed pretty expensive for what they were (a couple of battery powered infrared lights). I forgot how many different things monoprice sold, including this gem. I figured it was cheap enough that I would take a chance on it before moving to more expensive options. As soon as I popped the batteries in and stuck it to the wall w/ some double sided tape, it worked pretty well. I ended up adjusting the sensitivity and other settings within the wii and that fixed any little quirks with movement. Overall, I think its worth checking out based on the price and monoprice's reputation alone, but I've yet to have any problems with it. Also, I've been good about turning it off after use, so I don't really change the batteries nearly as often as I had originally thought.

Pros: I always get a great price with no surpises with Monoprice. I buy all my cabling from Monoprice. Everything from 40' hdmi cables to a little coupler for video conversion. If I keep getting what I want for a great price I will always buy Monoprice and tell everybody they are fools for giving their $'s for overpriced store bought stuff because someone told them it was better... hah!

Didn't even use it. But it was so cheap and I figured I might have a need for it in the future if I move the Wii.

Pros: No more wires to run from your Wii to the middle of your TV.

Cons: Keep a supply of batteries. You must manually turn On and Off the power to the Sensor Bar.

I love the idea of not having wires to string across to my TV. Its a clean look. I wish there were an automatic "power-off" in case you forget to turn if off after you're done using it. Over-all I recommend it.

Perfect solution when Wii console doesn't sit next to tv
Pros: So simple to hook up, my 2 year old daughter can do it.

Cons: NONE!

EXCELLENT product! I was considering buying an extension cable for my Wii, but my TV sits 23 feet away from my receiver & console, and the longest cable I could find was only 18 feet. I found this on MonoPrice & ordered it immediately. I was a little skeptical how it actually "paired" with the Wii, since it really didn't describe how to do this in the online description:

1 - install 4 AAA batteries. 2 - place the sensor bar above/below the TV. 3 - push the power button on front of sensor bar. 4 - turn on Wii and it instantly recognizes it and your remote automatically works.

So simple! (just remember to turn it off when done, maybe v2.0 will have this auto-off feature)

Pros: Works as designed

Cons: Short battery life, somewhat flimsy

The unit works correctly, but drains batteries very rapidly. It is also suffors relatively minor damage from the smallest drop, making it unsuited to a mobile Wii setup.

Great price and super small size
Pros: Small Size
Low Price

Cons: No automatic shutoff

This is the second wireless Wii bar I have bought. This unit is much smaller than my prior one because it takes AAA instead of AA batteries. Only thing to keep in mind is that is doesn't have an automatic shut off so make sure to turn it off after using.

Just what you expect
Pros: Exactly what you need to cut the cord with the Wii

Cons: You'll probably forget to turn it off and it will run the batteries down. Oh well.

Works just as expected, perfect for cutting the cord to your Wii. FYI, you don't need to have any cord to the Wii because the "sensor bar" is really just an IR transmitter, the sensor is in the Wiimote. That's why it's so easy to make a wireless sensor bar.

Kudos to Monoprice
Pros: No wires what so ever. Works in great range. Portable to transport.

Cons: Probably going to need to buy some re-chargeable batterys, thats about it.

Easy to set up, just install batterys, push the button and the wii does the rest. Easy to move to different room without having to toke around extra wires on the wired kind and don't forget that long, tangled wires that i had to deal with, especially if you are one of those type like us moving the wii around in different rooms. Customer service was also great with dealing the first one we had, it died maybe two days we had it, we even change out to new batterys still no go so they RMA it and sent us a new one right away. Great job Monoprice.

Not very good for longer range applications
Pros: If you are using this in a traditional setup then it will probably be fine. Cheap enough that you can pick one up to test it out and not really care if it doesn't work for you.

Cons: It stops working reliably after about 8 feet, can eat batteries quickly if you forget to turn it off for a night.

I use this with my projector. I have a 140" screen and sit back about 12-14 feet. the sensor bar is mounted under the screen and is completely useless unless we stand 6-7 feet closer. Once you are in range it works completely fine, but if you have a nontraditional setup like me this may not work for you. Luckily the price is so low I don't mind that it didn't work out.

Inexpensive, but you have to get up and cross the room to turn it off and on.
Pros: Inexpensive
Wireless

Cons: Power button requires getting up and moving across the room.

I had some problems with my initial units, but monoprice took care of replacements for me and it's working fine. You do get tired of getting up and crossing the room to turn it off and on.

Wireless Sensor Bar for Wii
Pros: Great price, slim design.

Cons: May go through a lot of batteries?

The wireless sensor bar allowed me to move the Wii into a media closet in another room. Simply put in 4 "AAA" batteries and placed under LCD TV and it worked like a charm!

The downside is that since it is battery operated you need to remember to turn it off when you're done gaming - a bit of a challenge if you have young kids playing.

No adhesive on mount
Cons: No adhesive.

The first unit I received had no adhesive on the mount. I was given a replacement by monoprice but the second unit has the same issue. There is simply no adhesive on the mount rendering it useless. Since I have a wall mounted TV, I now have no way to place the bar. The foam backing on the mount is exactly the same as the foam feet on the actual bar. No adhesive anywhere at all.

Cons: Coming back the next day and finding the batteries dead.

The Monoproce Wii sensor bar works perfect, but make sure you have a steady supply of re-chargeable AAA batteries because when (not if) you forget to turn it off, you will have to replace them the next time you want to play.

Hi,

Please understand that this is not a product fault and would follow matt.girard@gmail.com's recommendation of batteries keeping batteries at hand. Unfortunately the batteries will run down if the bar is not turned off after use. So DON'T FORGET to turn it off everyone when done! :) Thanks for the review

Great price, Clean Design... works okay.

My TV is on top of a dresser which means its pretty high off the ground. I put the sensor right below the TV and it had a hard time detecting the wireless sensor bar. It was probably the angle that i was playing at. I registered the wii settings correctly and yes it did work, but not accurately enough to play most games.

Went back to wired...

Advice: If you MUST have a wireless sensor bar due to location of devices and you have a normal entertainment set-up then this is for you! Otherwise, just stick w/ what you got cause it's one less headache to worry about.

Just so you know
For those of you saying that you needed to make sure this works through walls and that there was no set up or synchronization and that it was recognized right away:

Just so you know how the sensor bar works, it doesn't actually transmit any data to the Wii. Behind the lenses are basically two LED lights that the wiimote "sees" as reference points to be able to track where your pointer should be on-screen. Any data being transferred is from the wiimote to the Wii. The only thing the wired one that comes with the Wii does by being plugged in to the Wii is draw power from it. I believe it's just 5v USB because a friend of mine modified his to connect to a USB port on his TV to draw power from it. So a wireless one is basically just battery powered LEDs that wiimote can see as the reference points.

Not that there's anything wrong with any of this. I'll be buying one myself soon as my Wii will now be in a closet. I just wanted to shed some light for people concerned about working through walls or compatibility with their Wii.

Wii Wireless Sensor Bar
Our Wii is in a closet with our sound system, so the sensor bar needed to be wireless and work through walls. We tried one from Target, but the rechargeable battery was a joke. This wireless bar is great, because you can replace the batteries at will and it will work with rechargables.

As always, monoprice is king

works fine but the batteries last only 6-8 hours at most
The product works fine, just turn off and play. However, I had to go back to the wired one. I used Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries (4xAAA) and they seem to last only about 6-8 hours - assuming 1-3 hours of average use per day for 2-3 days. And, if the device is left ON for the night - you can safely take out and recharge the batteries, it is dead.

Great Value
Installed batteries and turned on the wireless sensor bar yesterday and it automatically recognized everything. No syncing of any type necessary. The bar works perfectly and just like the original (less the wires of course). Simply remember to turn it off after each use and you will be very satisfied with this.

Worked as described and for about 60-80 percent off the average price. Couldn't be happier

It was easy to setup and worked fine. However, it needs some kind of power management since it's tough to get everyone in the house to remember to turn it off after using it.

I went back to the wired one.

This should come with every Wii
Monoprice doesn't have a description of this product, so I'll elaborate a little. This is a Monoprice-branded wireless sensor bar. It is scarcely larger than the wired version that comes with the Wii. It has a power button and a red LED light indicating when it's on. It takes four AAA batteries. The sensor also comes with a small adhesive plastic mount that can be used to better position the sensor on the top or bottom of your wall-mounted flat panel TV. The mount allows you to slide the sensor in and out for easy battery replacement.

This thing works like a charm. It's functionally identical to the wired sensor bar that comes with the Wii, but has the major benefit of being wireless. Can't beat it for the price!

Gets the job done
Put 4 AAA batteries in it, turned it on and it just works. Very little to no jitters. Dirt cheap... you'll be hard pressed to find a cheaper wireless sensor bar on the internet. I've only had it a few days so I can't speak for the battery efficiency, but I'm expecting it to be average.
