Incredible sound at an unbelievable price
Pros: Unbelievably detailed and faithful sound quality for the money. Excellent external sound isolation. Very good build quality. Long cloth-covered cord with gold-plated plug.

Cons: Slightly awkward "in ear monitor" style.

I use ear buds every day. Eventually, the wires break and the ear buds must be replaced. So over the years I have worn out and replaced many pairs and tried many brands, including Sony, Panasonic, JVC and Bose. My goal has been to find something that I can afford to replace every year or two, yet have good sound quality. Even better would be an ear bud built so well I will last more than two years.

I think my goal has been met by the Monoprice 8320. For well under $10 (including shipping and currency exchange), the 8320 has outstanding sound quality, easily on a par with my Bose IE2, and with a build quality that I believe will outlast any other model I've tried.

I don't know how Monoprice can do it. My advice for you is to buy several pairs before the price goes up!

not for me
Pros: inexpensive, like the fabric coated cord very much, sound is good

Cons: do not fit my ears.

These things do not fit my ears! They fall out. If I reversed the left and right sides, they fit a bit better. I gave them away.

Great sound with hack
Pros: This product has great clarity of sounds, especially highs and mids...low frequencies get noticed when there is proper isolation and setting of the nozzle and ear tip.

Cons: The out-of-the-box ear tips are uncomfortable and don't help to isolate and get the low frequency sounds...the nozzle may be too open and short, so I added an extension in the shape of a trumpet and then covered it with a triple flange ear tip.

The Monoprice 8320 has great sound when the ear tip and nozzle are properly set. In my case, adding a trumpet-like extension to the nozzle and replacing the ear tip with a triple flange one helped to bring out the sound as I think it was intended to be.
The title enhanced bass may be somewhat misleading because my JVC marshmallow have more punch than the 8320s, even at low volume...it all could be related to what I mentioned above...

not great
Pros: Long cord, angled cord junction with earbuds

Cons: Conducts a lot of static, raised edges on earbuds feel sharp in my ears

I was excited to find some earbuds from MP, these were a little quieter than some other earbuds I have which its fine. Pretty good isolation, I work in aa lab with high noise pressure, which I enjoyed. It quickly became apparent that the fit of these in my ears made it sometimes seriously painful due to the edges around the outside of the buds. The rest of the look was fine, but it seems like a poor choice not to smooth those out more.

Pros: Great Sound
Sturdy Build

Cons: Cloth wire caused some issues
Broke after a little while

These headphones actually provided great sound quality, much better than some $50+ headphones (granted, Skullcandies, but still). For the price, I would recommend these highly. Sadly, mine messed up with the wiring, and unless the wire was at the perfect angle, I wouldn't hear sound.

Thank you Monoprice engineers!
Pros: Excellent sound quality
Unbeatable price
Futuristic looks

Cons: Cable gets tangled easy
Uncomfortable for long sessions
Crappy isolation

You would be very suprised by the sound quality of these. Ive heard $100 headphones that dont sound as good. The guy who engineered and designed these either got lucky or is very talented. They have a great bass that is polite yet powerful and deep. Midrange is detailed and forward with decent timbre and accuracy. Highs are pleasant and not fatiguing, and have adequate detail but the treble extension cuts off short. The imaging and soundstage are pretty good do to their open design. They dont block out much noise. Not ideal for really noisy airplane or whatever.

Cons: Rubber may not last- unclear

Great sound quality and earbuds for the price. Figure at this price you can't go wrong. My whole family wants them. Also great service- order to delivery very efficient. Thanks.

Pros: Low cost, covered wire , comfortable , incredible sound

Cons: None

These earbuds are amazing! I'm hearing things in my music I didn't even know were there. Who would have known the sound could be so rich from something so inexpensive? Buy these! You won't be sorry!

Cloth cord? Seriously?
Pros: Good sound, when you stay perfectly, completely, absolutely still.

Cons: Cloth covered cord is a deal breaker. Sound from the cord scratching on your clothes travels straight up the cord and into your ears.

Nope. This was a mistake. If they had a smooth cover over the cord they might be OK, but sound travels straight up the cloth cord and destroys whatever you listen to. These have gone to the bottom of the drawer and I'm back to using the Apple earbuds.

Wow. Just wow!
Pros: Remarkably strong sound all around, once you start using the right rubber piece!

Cons: Tinny sound if you don't have the right rubber pieces selected...check ear fit carefully!
You might want to use these at a lower volume level than over-ear headphones because these focus the intensity of the sound directly into your ear canal.

I was not expecting these to be so good. My relationship to earbuds is pretty much a hate-hate one. The ones Apple provides hurt my ears, as have others I've tried. However, these are really, really good. And yes, you hear that bass in no uncertain terms, in fact, better than a lot of over-ear headphones I have. They still aren't as good as the Acoustic Research and Koss cans I have as my official editing headphones, but they are better than the Walkman type headphones out there. You don't want to overdrive these, though. Keep the volume down.

OK headphones
Pros: sound pretty good, bass is ok.

Cons: Built quality is ok. debris screen on earpiece fell off. wire is too thin, easily tangle. rubber earnubs too big for me, easily slides out.

The sound quality are better than "el cheapo" headphones.
My gripes about the headphones is the built quality. The wire is too thin which makes it easily tangled. Did not last 1 day in my pocket. The wire started to come apart. The screen on the earbuds that keeps debris out fell off, had to glue it back.
Minor gripe (maybe me): the only rubber earnubs which comes with the earphones are a bit big for me, which makes it slide out.
You have to wear these headphones one way. other ways will fall off.

Best In-Ear Earbuds for the price!
Pros: -Sound quality
-Build Quality
-Price

Cons: -Takes some getting used to due to the rather large size of the ear buds, after about a week my ears finally acclimated to the abnormal size.

To start off I would like to say I have not tried many headphones and therefore my review may be more biased than others. I have only tried the v-moda's, jvc marshmallow, and apple earphones before these.
Sound quality: these are extremely well with handling any type of music, all acoustics and vocals are crystal clear as well as electronic beats and synths. Bass in songs is well managed and is not too boomy or overwhelming.
Build Quality: despite there cheap look they are surprisingly durable, and the fake screws add a nice touch when looking at them up close the cord is made of a cloth type material which gives them a high end feeling
Price: These are extremely cost effective and there is absolutely no reason to not buy them.

My only con is the size of the actual ear bud, which is quite large I am a female and therefore I tend to have smaller ears I had to go through some type of "stretching" process to allow these to feel comfortable mainly I wore them for at least 3 hours each day for a week and then by then end of that they no longer hurt my ears.

Best low cost headphones I've found yet
Pros: -Fantastic sound Clear highs, clear bass, resonant.
-Even the sub-bass comes through without effort listening to edm is not something you normally get to do with cheapies.

Cons: -Design is a bit garish
-Not good for sleeping in

These sound better once they are broken in, and once they are, they are the gold standard for sub $15 headphones, even putting most consumer level $40-50 headphones to shame.
I may buy another couple pairs just in case they wear out with (mis)use.

Pretty amazing for inexpensive earphones
Pros: For the price, these are pretty amazing earphones. Good sound & balance - far easier to use than the standard I-pod earphones and better sounding.

Cons: None really as long as your ear canal is the right size.

Well made inexpensive earphones that serve the purpose of an I-phone or throwback transistor radio very well. Good sound, comfortable.

jury still out
Pros: price, price and price and it is from monoprice

Cons: one wire broke after only a week

Jury is still out on these earbuds, I ordered 3 pair for my kids, 2 work great, one pulled a wire within a week, however these are being used by teenagers who in my house tend to be very active in their use of earbuds, hard to say if manufacturing issue or user issue

Great value!
Pros: Great value for decent sound quality

Cons: None

Much better than most entry-level earbuds you'll find on the market. The sound is comparable to other earbuds I have had that cost around $50. Like others have mentioned before, you need to get some foam replacement eartips to truly take advantage of the sound quality (the ones that come with the earbuds are on the cheaper side and don't really isolate noise). Also, I burned mine in with pink noise for about 2 days before using them. It really makes a difference!

Pros: Just excellent sound for an inexpensive unit. I have recommended them countless times to friends.

Cons: Would be nice if packaged with assorted inserts. Or, at least, Monoprice should make them available as a separate item. There was no reason for me to buy them elsewhere.

Choose the other ones on this site - not these
Pros: fits iPhone

Cons: Too big.
LESS bass than smaller cheaper models available on this site.
Inferior sound.
Still very cheap of course, just get the other ones!

these actually have LESS bass than the $2-3 models on this site. They also just sound worse all ways round. They are also massive and oversized. With the ear bud models, I can lie on one side with the ear bud comfortably in my ear and even fall asleep. I can't do that with these at all - they are huge. They also look schockly.

I'll be buying more
Pros: About 7 bucks! That's a win in itself!
At first I though it was a stupid design to have the cord go out over the ear and down the back. But I was wrong its a great design! Its does at least two things that I noticed. The first being that it helps keep them in your ears. And the second which I think is the most notable would be that it blocks alot of the noise of the cable moving around. If you're thinking "noise of the cord.....!... What the heck is he talking about!" Put you regular in the ear headphones on without listening to anything and move around. You'll hear lots of noise from the cord rubbing against your clothes. But since these wrap up over the ear they block most of that noise. Oh yeah and the bass is deeeeep. You can feel it in your head!

Cons: While I love the fabric covered cord.....they do tangle fairly easily. People will take them! I've bought two and two have disappeared.

Buy them!

Quite a value at this price.
Pros: Sound quality and clarity are both really good. Cloth cord is a pleasant heavier-duty detail. And the incredible price makes me gloat every time I use them.

Cons: Since the earpieces are one-size-fits-all, I'd have to raise a slight issue about calling these "noise isolating". Unless you really crank them - which I don't do - I imagine you'd always hear what's going around you to some extent. Which, however, means zilch when compared to the slightly surreal price/quality combination.

Incredible Sound, and not just for the low price range!!
Pros: AMAZING sound. Mids are clear and not harsh! Bass is smooth and clear. Trebles are not too harsh and don't roll off. The soundscape is vivid and you will be surprised with how much detail you can hear!

Cons: - Wire gets tangled VERY easily
- Stock bud tips are not the greatest
- A little awkward to put into ears

Neutral:
They will need breaking in at first, as any loud yelling will sound harsh. THIS IS NORMAL. Keep using them, or plug them into white noise overnight and it will stretch the vibrating membrane.

I've owned $50 and $100 earbuds along with the standard iPod, Galaxy S3 headphones and $25 skullcandy ones, and let me tell you that these blow them all away by FAR. No contest.
I bought about 5 pairs to share with friends and have a backup.
Shipping is quick as well!

Meh
Pros: Cheap, tangle free cord but see review

Cons: Horrible fit
Sound quality, feedback

I bought these because they were cheap and recommended from another site for a great bang for the buck. Monoprice has always been awesome and delivered on time, you guys rock!

I gave these a solid test period (about 5 months) and they have been a bit of a letdown. First off they are very awkward. The way they sit in your ear is just different with the angle of the speaker, bulky casing and arrangement of wires (yes I am putting them in correctly). This earlier model didn't come with alternate fittings for your ears (newer versions do) but I found a set luckily that was perfect for my ear canals. Even then they have a tendency to work themselves loose because of the casing. It could just be that these aren't the best fit for my ears but I've tried dozens of earbuds and these are the worst fit of all that I have tried.

The sound quality is terrible. Maybe I got a defective set or something but basically no bass at all. The highs are very good but that's all I can hear. No mids, no bass.

The tangle free cord is great with one exception. It creates feedback. When walking around if the cord sways and comes into contact with my clothes, I can hear it in the headphones.

I Don't Understand the Great Reviews
Pros: Cheap

Cons: Poor sound, uncomfortable to wear (at least in my ears), What else is there for earphones?

After reading the many glowing reviews of these earphones, I decided to give them a try. Well, they are cheap, that is about all I could say about them. Otherwise the sound is no better than the average cheap headphones. I had to crank up the volume and really play with the equalizer just to make the sound acceptable.

Great Price Great Sound
Pros: Great, full sound. Solid feeling. Of course, great price.

Cons: Too heavy. Cord is fabric and tangles easily.

I bought this pair for using while I exercise however, they are too heavy and fall out of my ears too easily. I purchased additional size rubber pieces to see if that would help and it did slightly but not enough. Also, I don't bother storing my earphones in a case between uses so I frequently just retrieve from a bag and start using. The cabling has a fabric sheath on it that makes them tangle something fierce.....think of unwrapping Xmas lights. If you're not using while moving around a lot and take slightly better care of them between uses, you'll probably be just fine with them. They sound amazing for the $$.

Best earphones I have tried yet.
Pros: Great sound
The "enhanced bass" is very good, it's not overdone as it is in some other earphones that I have tried The mid-range and the highs seem are also very good. I have not noticed any distortion.

Cons: Tip size
The earphones only come with one set of silicone tips. A few reviews that I have read state that the tips are too large, which was my experience as well. I had to switch the tips out with an extra set. that I was not using.

I don't think you can find a better sounding set of earphones for this price. The size of silicone tips are too large, however replacement tips are inexpensive, which still makes these earphones a good value.

Most Durable and Inexpensive Ear Buds
Pros: Durability, comfort, OK noise isolation, sound

Cons: none

I wear these every day while I am driving. In the warm months I motorcycle - these fit great under a full face helmet. In the cold months I drive. They take a beating. They are forever getting yanked out of my ears by the cord and they have not failed.

The isolation could be better. I believe they are an open design of driver so isolation suffers. I have improved the isolation by adding a triple flange type of silicone plug from another set of failed buds I had (similar to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZV67OC/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). This keeps them in place better and isolates any sound sneaking around the plug.

Excellent headphones!
Pros: inexpensive, lightweight, loud, nice quality

Cons: n/a

These headphones are awesome. I'm a drummer, and I have struggled to find headphones that are loud enough to hear while I'm playing and will actually stay in my ears as I move while playing. These are great at both of those obstacles! Phenomenal price for such a fantastic product, and I highly recommend these to anyone!

There IS a trick to these for them to "work!"
Pros: Amazing sound.
Low price.
I actually like the material the cord is made of.
Different ear bud tips.

Cons: For the price, none at all.

AMAZING sound for the price. That's all really. **Make sure you are pushing these into your ear properly!!** I was experiencing the tinny sound and zero bass at first and was thinking to myself that I must've gotten a defective pair. It then hit me to simply readjust them and pushed them a little further in so they sat more snug. HOLY CRAP! Night and day difference. Monoprice should put a little disclaimer in the packaging to make sure people are wearing these properly. Lots of unnecessary returns/refunds could be avoided. I highly recommend these.

Enhanced Bass???
Pros: Price... Price is about the only Pro I have on this set.

Cons: Uncomfortable, No enhanced bass

This product claims to have Enhanced Bass yet I hear very little bass if any at all. I have done the burn in and have made sure I have them in properly and still get nothing. They are uncomfortable. I bought them several months ago and have maybe used them enough times to count on one hand.

Unenhanced Basee
Pros: Quality
Price
Tangle proof cord

Cons: Lacking "enhanced" base
Good mid and highs

Ordered both the 9396 and these (8320). The 9396 are much richer sounding than the 8320 with better base. For the price, both are decent and work great for the gym, mountain biking, etc. As others have mentioned the shape makes for some unique fitting, but the work for me.

For the price, they are not bad. However, they don't have the bass response of my OEM IEM earbuds from Audio Technica. They are good throwaway buds to wear in situations where you don't care if they come back home with you.

Great headphones
Pros: Great sound. Great value. These headphones are well-reviewed across the board, and much cheaper than their peers. Highest rated by wirecutter.com.

Cons: The earbuds were a little larger than I expected, so I get a little ear pain from them. Perhaps I have small ears, but I've never had trouble with others before.

Would recommend.

Best Value Anywhere
Pros: Great sound, small size that fits IN the ear allowing you to lie on a pillow and not hurt your ear, unbeatable price, buying from a company that takes care of any problems you might encounter.

Cons: None

Can't Sleep? I got these earphones to help with sleep issues. I am an alternative health care doctor and I was looking for something for myself and my patients. This is it! If you fall asleep on it it fits so well in your ear that you probably won't even know it is there. I tried many before this one. This is the smallest, best sounding and best price. If you have a problem with the item MonoPrice will replace it or give you a refund, with no issues good company! Cant sleep? Pros: Nice sound.

Cons: Cord started having intermittent connection near the plug after 10 months.
Tangles more than some other earphones I've had.

For the price I suppose I shouldn't expect more, but you'd think they'd last at least a year.

Very good for the price
Pros: Very good sound quality for such a cheap headphone. I wouldn't even think twice to buy these over most headphones in the $5-$50 range. Very good range compared to most at this price. Usually cheap buds sound very dull and washed out.

Cons: Wish I would have waited for the different colors to come out.
Cord is a little thin, but haven't had issues yet

Would definitely recommend these over any IEM in the $50 price range, and even over some that cost more. I have used my fair share of IEMs and I will buy these again if something happens to my first pair. I use them daily at work for approx. 4 hours a day, and switch between these and the Monoprice 8320 Over the ear cans. Cant recommend both enough.

Excellent Headphones
Pros: +Price
+Fantastic Sound Quality

Cons: -Uncomfortable

I've been purchasing various earbuds from the past few years and done reading about what the best budget pairs are and I think I've finally found the diamond in the rough.
This pair of headphones pardon the hyperbole absolutely demolishes any competition within the sub-$40 price range. That's only when compared against VSonics, Fischer Audio, and respected brands that the general public don't consider. If you're only considering the larger names such as Bose and Klipsch, then range shoots up to the sub-$100 mark.
Enough with the comparisons:
I was never good with describing sound but I can confidently say that the clarity is stellar. The sound is spacious and doesn't give you that "in-your-head" feeling. The bass is low and hits well without feeling bloated.

Not really the best, as promoters have claimed, but pretty good.
Pros: Good sound for the price.

Cons: Cloth-wrapped cable tends to snag more on zippers, etc.

These are solid, cheap headphones with pretty good sound for the price. I've found better sounding models in the same price range ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IY98FO/ have way better bass and are super sturdy )

The highs can be a little tinny/harsh on these but overall they have great sound for such a cheap product.

Cons: Did not receive exactly what was ordered

Not bad for money, weird shape though
Pros: -Great sound. Sound better after a little burn-in and with music players with good DACs such as Sandisk Sansa series or anything from Cowon. I have these with a Sandisk Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox firmware and man these are good.

Cons: -Awkward shape and fit. It takes some getting used-to regarding the shape and the phones fitting your ears. The tips that come with it work decently but there isn't much isolation. Had to by some memory foam tips and they definitely improved the phone's sound, isolation and fit.

-You can hear the cord rubbing on clothing very easily. Its much worse when the wire moves around the head area.

I needed to find a good earphone and mp3 combo and several online associates recommended these buds. The low price made it very tempting to try, and if I was disappointed it wouldn't be so bad, right? Well I've been using them for a while and they sound great. I'm a huge metalhead with a little OCD who wants to hear as much detail as possible without blowing out my eardrums. After some burn-in and memory foam tips, these sound and fit well.

Regarding the shape, the wires are supposed to be above the ear canal coming out towards the front of you. Takes a little while to get used to them and inserting them. Very likely some folks here will need different size and material of earbud tips to get the right fit.

Pros: -Tangle Free Cord

Cons: -Broke Quickly
-Cheap Construction
-Fit Weirdly in ear

UPDATE: Monoprice contacted me and sent me a new pair. Great service! These are holding up for now.

I bought these and the other monoprice earbuds:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?&cp_id=10823&cs_id=1082303&p_id=8319

These sounded much better, and for 7 bucks you can't really beat the sound quality anywhere. However, after 3 months of use, the cord near the earbud had worn through the nylon wrapping around it. This was disappointing since I take good care of my headphones and always put them in a case. Also, the other day the plastic enclosure of the earbud fell off so it's just exposed wiring. Kind of a bummer cause I really like the earbuds.

Another note: these sit in your ear weird. you don't wear them like normal earbuds, the cord comes out of the top of the bud, which might have been what caused the wire to fray.

The Hi-Fi isolating ones I liked early don't sound as crisp, but the noise isolation is great. They are also a bit bulky but since they haven't fallen apart I prefer them.

Amazing for the price!
Pros: Great Range of sound. Very strong and durable build quality. Amazing bang for your buck. People will compliment you on how cool they look.

Cons: The fabric cable gets a little funky after a long time, which is really just more slightly annoying than anything else. I have earbuds that are about a year old with a janky and kinky cable and they still work fabulously.

These little earbuds are rugged and have an amazing range of sound. They have become my staple earbuds and I've even begun to introduce them to my friends who also like them. I've actually had people stop me in the train to ask what kind of earbuds I have and have been surprised at the cost of them.

best earbuds iv had
Pros: cheap
good feel to my ears
i would have paid more.

Cons: they are not the best at noise isolation.
the cord could be thicker and less chance to tangle " they are bad about it"!
the ear pads are very weak and sometimes fall out

i have spent much much more on earphones in the past, and never have i had any that were this clear.highs, mids, and lows are good. there could be more base

Much better than the age-old Creative EP-630
Pros: Amazing sound for the price Very, very worth it
Nylon woven cables are more durable and less tangle prone than cheap rubber
Cables are long (big plus for me)
Gold-plated connector is essential and cheap resists long term corrosion

Cons: Stock tips are bad, but are standard size and easily replaced (affects comfort, sound, isolation)
Cable movement noise is significant, can be reduced some by wearing them over the ear and using a shirt clip
They're ugly (but at least not super huge)
Nylon cables with cheap strain reliefs will fray with frequent sharp bending or rubbing on hard edges, but will still probably hold

Depends on purpose and preference:
Isolation (from outside noise) is low-moderate, somewhat open
Connector is straight instead of angled

Value:
Like everyone says, amazing sound for the price. I ordered three, for me, family member and backup (for $18.12 + $2.34 S&H three months ago). It has a little more detail than my $100 UE pair in the mids and highs.

Sound:
The highs are a little harsh, but I think that's the price of detail to an extent. I experimented with putting a thin strip of tape over the vent hole (one on each, right next to the stem) and opening a small hole in each strip with a sewing needle, and I think it helped. At least I never have to turn them up for detail (loud treble causes gradual hearing loss). But low isolation means I have to if I want to hear anything in a noisy environment. It's always nice when people say I'm cheating in a shooter when I hear subtle footsteps, instantly pinpoint them by sound, spin around and fire. Modern HRTFs are wonderful.

Comfort:
The default tips are horrible, but easily replaced. Meelectronics product "TipSet5-M11CL-MEE" for $4 with return discount + $2 shipping is a nicely mixed set. Much more comfortable and better sounding. I like the dual flange ones. The fit would be better still if they could go deeper in the canal, and were more comfortably angled and shaped. Have to bend the cables backwards to wear them over ear. The left/right split in che cable is nice and low, is durable, and there's no annoying slider.

Appearance:
The aesthetics aren't pleasing but it doesn't bother me much, I've used bigger and uglier. My hair usually covers them anyway. I'd much prefer if it was a simple matte gray instead of covered in the the mirror shine, faux-chrome plastic that I can see my face in, and if it didn't have all the little grooves and details (like the fake plastic screw heads). The paint seems durable enough, I don't think it will chip. (I see that they have matte color options now. It really, really, really would have been nice if they did when I bought them three months ago, or I'd have gotten the white, which actually looks good. The 'silver' is SO ugly..)

Connector:
An angled connector would be better for things that go in pockets or cramped desktops. But the straight has appeal too, a little easier to plug in.

Isolation:
I prefer more isolation when I'm using headphones because I'm usually sitting down, trying to block outside noise. But the mild openness these have is good for hearing things like doors and people saying your name.

Cable conduction noise:
The cable noise from moving around is loud. Sitting down, I think cable noise matters less and isolation more while moving around, low cable noise matters more and isolation less. Wearing the cable over the ear and with a shirt clip help with cable noise.

Tangling?:
Those who say these are tangle prone must think anything long and flexible is tangle prone, because these aren't. Google ways to wrap headphone cables you can't just stuff them straight in something and expect them to come out perfect.

Very disappointed
Pros: Inexpensive
Good sound quality

Cons: Do not fit my ears
Cord tangles easily
Broke in three months
Shocks my ears!

I had high hopes for earbuds, considering the high praise it has received from various internet sources. As many other customers have said, these earbuds have good sound quality, especially considering it's very low price.

However, I've had too many issues with them. With the included silicone tips these earbuds would not stay in my ear at all. I replaced them with foam tips which fit better but I found the design of the plastic casing uncomfortable. My right earbud keeps falling out with no movement involved. Also, I think the cord is more prone to tangling than other, non-fabric covered earbuds.

After three months the left earbud stopped working entirely, so now I'm stuck using only the right earbud which doesn't fit my ear to begin with.

However, my biggest complaint is that these earbuds would shock my ears, especially when wearing certain clothing. Discomfort is one thing, but something like this should not cause physical pain! This is unacceptable!

Pros: These earbuds have pretty good sound, and the cord material is excellent. easy to untangle and slip in and out of ones pocket. Good price.

Cons: The shape of the actual earbud and the way it sits in my ear causes it to slip out slowly as my ear warms up. Sometimes uncomfortable to keep in ones ear.

These don't live up to the hype.
Pros: Cheap

Cons: Poor build quality, Poor sound quality, Awkward fit, Tangly cable, no large or small tips, ugly.

I bought this to try after reading much hype about it across the Internet. Some people even claimed that it compares favorably to even much more expensive IEMs. I should have saved my money. These sound awful. The highs are spiky and harsh, even after burn in. It's more difficult to get a good seal with these than with most IEM, even after tips of the appropriate size are installed. The bass is nearly absent, even compared to IEMs with "bass-light" reputations. Among all of my non-freebie IEMs, the Monoprice easily provides the poorest sound quality. I even have some less expensive ones that sound better. In a word, this IEM is junk. Don't waste your money.

Very disappointed, very uncomfortable to wear
Pros: Great cord and plug ... uhhh.. not much else

Cons: Cause ear pain after 5 minutes of wearing. Can't determine why as the rubber ends aren't large just the body of the earpiece.
Does not have great sound as Gizmodo reviews stated, bought two pair.

Read a review on Gizmodo and immediately bought them (two pair) as all the prior HDMI cable purchases on Monoprice have been excellent.
They work. Only fair sound, certainly not spectacular in any way.
They become uncomfortable after about five minutes of wearing with dull to sharp pain where the large body presses against the ear.
NOT RECOMMENDED.

Low Quality
Pros: Cheap

Cons: Tangled Cables
Low Quality

Cable gets tangled EXTREMELY easily. I felt like every time I wanted to use these headphones I was fighting to get them untangled first.
Quality - They haven't lasted. They are sparking/cracking in my ear. After feeling minor shocks in my ear a few times, I called it quits and threw them out. They lasted just under 2 weeks. But at the price I paid, I'm not going to worry about returns/refunds/exchanges. Just going ot move on.

-Great bass
-Noise isolation is fantastic

Cons: These ear buds aren't shielded. When you plug them into a computer you can hear interference. You won't hear it when listening to an iPod of something like that.

Pros: comfortable fit, excellent sound reproduction, good bass response. The stereo imaging was top notch.

Cons: I wish there were options on the sizes for rubber tip insert to my ear as it does come undone when I do heavy walking or jogging. I guess that cound be said of any earbuds.

I thought the headset was heads above even the more expensive buds that I had. The sound was richer and the bass was very strong. I didn't have to increase the volume on my sandisk device to hear the richness of the sound. The buds were comfortable and the connection to the sandisk was long and tangle free for me and it seemed strong. and weather resistant.

Great sound for the price point. These are good noise canceling ear buds for the price. If you are expecting top quality sound and comfort... pay for it. These are great for a low price pair of headphones. The only downfall is they begin to hurt the ear after a long time (an hour or so). Other than that I love them.

Sound great - I could see them not being comfortable w/ smaller ears - they don't get a tight seal sometimes, though - for the price, the imaging is amazing - just EQ out some of the mids

Pros: Decent sound, good price.

Cons: This is the same problem I found with item 9397. The problem is with the jack and how it's made. It has some type of two piece compression fitting and it comes apart, leaving only the wires to keep the jack together. It should probably be one piece molded plastic, as this is a point that takes a fair amount of stress.

If you need a headset that lasts, look elsewhere. Monoprice usually has better quality than this.

Pros: -Great sound for the price

Cons: -Not very comfortable in my ears, even when I loop the cable over the top. Sharp parts of the housing rub on my ear and the earbuds pop out too easily.

If these were more comfortable, they would be the best cheap earbuds ever.

Deserves way more than an 81% rating
Pros: Built decently
Amazing sound quality

Cons: Bad supplied ear tips
A little strange looking
Pretty large for IEMs
Have to be worn a little weird
Cord tangles pretty easily

I heard about these little guys from Head-Fi and a couple of technology boards on the internet and decided to get a pair. I was told to just toss the supplied ear tips and grab some Comply T400 foam ear tips. Once I got the headphones and the tips was VERY impressed with them. They absolutely do not sound like a $7 pair of IEMs, I've never owned a pair of high-end IEMs but these definitely sounded better than my $30 Sony IEMs. I can put the sound quality somewhere in between Koss PortaPros and Audio Technica ATH-M50s in IEM form. From places like Head-Fi and such people say they sound better than Klipsch Image S4s (popular budget Audiophile-type IEMs around $80-$100). So if you're looking for a good pair of cheap IEMs that sound amazing for the price get these (or two or three!) and some aftermarket Ear Tips immediately.

Pros: Prompt shipment got exactly what I ordered no Canada Customs involvement.

Cons: Slow delivery (regular mail took 4 weeks) probably because of: a) Christmas, b) Canada Post

I'll order again.

Great sound, cheaply made, lasted about a week.
Pros: Great sound.

Cons: Sadly, these lasted only a week before one side died on me.

Although they have an awkward fit the sound was great. Sadly one side of my pair died after only about 1 hour of use per day for about a week. The sound was so good I'm willing to try another pair.

Not as big as I thought
Pros: Great sound quality
fabric wrapped cord
slim profile jack.

Cons: Unfortunate colour/size.

I was willing to accept that they were a bit big and strangely coloured based on size and reviews. I'm glad I did. Both the sound quality and noise isolation are great. They are not extremely top-of the line, but I am not an audiophile. I like these and they work better than name-brand ones that cost twice as much. If you want new headphones, you should try these.

Also, I was worried about the size of them and how they would look in my ear. They are designed well enough that they fit in my ear and are rather unobtrusive even though they are large and shiny. I even tried wearing them when I was falling asleep. I could lie down quite comfortably on the side of my head with them in my ear and barely felt them. I was quite surprised actually.

Great earphones
Pros: Great sound

Cons: Earbud fit can be a challenge

Overall these are great headphones. For the price, I don't think there's a better pair out there. I use them mainly on a treadmill to listen to a TV. The earbud fit is a little awkward, but if I push them far enough into my ear they stay in place for most of my run. If I'm not exercising, they stay in without issue.

Great in-ear headphones
Fantastic headphones, given the price. I bought them after reading the review on The Wirecutter (http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-headphones-under-30/) and was not disappointed.

Great if they fit your ears
Pros: Pretty good sound
Unique design

Cons: Can be difficult to get in and keep in your ears
They didn't work in my ears

After I figured out that the buds go in with the cord at the top I realized that I must have weird ear canals or something because no matter what I tried I couldn't get the buds to stay in my ears. I tried swapping the rubber tips with ones from other pairs of buds but they still wouldn't stay in. When I held them in my ears they sounded pretty good. Actually awesomely good for the price. Too bad the way the buds curve doesn't fit the curve of my ear canal.
Maybe they will work for you but sadly not for me.

Good performance, unusal package
Pros: Exceptional value
Handles very dynamic material without complaints

Cons: Tone is not neutral - emphasizes bass
Unusual package not for everyone
Looks are bit cheezy (metalicized plastic)

Not many affordable in-ear phones handle live instrument dynamics well, such as bass guitar or the like. These do that. So if you have someone in mind who likes in-ears rather than "cans" and plays, these are a great choice.

For "normal" listening they are pleasant and relatively clear sounding from bass to mids, albiet with that bass emphasis already mentioned. These are not super-fi devices, so you do loose some fine detail compared with the very best possible. Given their price point these do bass + mids rather well. And they handle high levels without complaint - but be careful of your ears.

Highs seem a bit laid back and not very present, as well as a bit less resolved.

So overall you should not expect too much from this purchase, but if any of these uses apply, these will do a fine job.

Don't waste money
Pros: Great audio an bass.

Cons: 1) poooor fit (very bulky)
2) wires get tangled up too easily and it takes forever to loosen them.

Buy the other black and whites earphones from monoprice. I tried both.

Pros: Cheap and great for the office.

Cons: shock my ears intermittently.

for some reason these headphones have a tendency to shock my ears. Its very hard to explain but I have already been sent a second complimentary pair because of this issue and the replacements are doing the same things. I have these plugged into a Lenovo small speaker that connects to the bottom of my Lenovo display. I keep the headphones in my ears most of the day and notice the speakers start to pop and a little shock goes into my ear. I listen to these headphones at a very low volume.

Don't Waste Your Money
Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Tinny and unbalanced sound, uncomfortable fit, poor physical balance

I bought these headphones based on a strong online reputation after initially hearing about them via Lifehacker. After using them for a few hours, I cannot understand why people think these actually sound good!

The sound was weak, thin, distant, and far too trebly. In fact, the bass frequencies were just about totally absent - completely opposite the "Enhanced Bass" description that they bear. To my ears, even iPod earbuds sound more balanced.

On top of that, my experience was that the 8320s did not stay seated in my ear well at all, and I think this is due partly to the design of the included rubber tips, and partly to the weight and balance of the external drivers.

I'm very disappointed - I was really hoping to be pleasantly surprised by this product after all of the online hype. Sadly, I find them almost completely unusable. Maybe I just got a bum set of these, but I'm glad I didn't pay any more than $7 for them.

Wow, these are amazing
Pros: Good quality for a cheap price

Cons: Nothing bad about it :)

These are pretty much the best earbuds I've ever heard at this price. I used to have $20 skullcandy earbuds, and these sound better than those, and these are 1/3 the price, making it a great deal. I'd recommend these to anyone asking about new earbuds because theirs aren't good.

Very good for the price
Pros: Very good sound quality to my ears.

Cons: Poor fit in ears.

Seem to be well balanced. Burned in for 48 hrs. with pink noise, but sounded good right out of the package. I don't use in ear monitors much and I know there are scores out there, but these are the best I have tried. My other headphones are over the ear Sennheiser HD 280 and HD 380. The 8320's don't sound the same, but they compare well. The bass is strong enough. It depends on the program material just as with the Sennheisers. As others have said the fit for me is not that good. The sound is good just inserted with the cable wrapped around your ear, but if you push them in a little it is much better, release your finger and the sound quality drops. I want to get new cushions, but I don't know what size to get for a male or female. I don't know if the cushions are small medium or large that come with the 8320's. Any help from customer support about the size would be appreciated. In all I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Worth every penny of its six bucks
Pros: Balanced, full, sound. I consider myself an audiophile, use gear such as JD Labs CMoy headphone amp, other IEMS such as HiFi Man REO, also open ear Grado sr80, etc.. Works well with music (via ipod) or Kindle Fire. Crazy value for sound. I use the monoprice with Sony hybrid tips.

Cons: Cables will be its death, as they tangle oh so easily and start to unravel with abuse. Also, housings are large and can be uncomfortable if ear canals are small, or if you try to sleep with these.

Worth every penny, great stocking stuffer, and its pros greatly outweight its cons given the price.

Pros: -Amazing sound
-Price

Cons: -No tips for different size ears, but you can purchase them separately elsewhere.
- The fit once in your ear is a little odd the way the cable runs.

Best sounding in ear earphones I have heard under $50, they are a complete steal at this price.

Pros: sound quality, long cord, price, value

Cons: after a couple of hours straight ears can ache- not a big con as a couple of hours straight is a long time.

Best Headphone for the money
Pros: Absolutely cannot beat the price of these for their quality.

Cons: Sometimes fall out while jogging

I wear headphones daily and generally have to replace them once every two months (one of the speakers usually just stops working). I tried buying more expensive headphones (anywhere from $20 - $120) but they all broke. Eventually I just settled on buying a pair of cheap Sony pair and replacing them regularly. Then I found these beauties. Not are they incredibly affordable, they sound better then some of the headphones I used to buy that cost $20. Plus they are just, if not more durable then the other pairs. The only downside is that they sometimes fall out of my ear when jogging, but that is just a minor complaint.
