Pros: Sounds great, comes with a cable that makes it a bit longer
Cons: The volume up button broke after 3 weeks. Have to re order another one.
It's a great speaker, I just wish it didnt break on me so easily. I'm pretty sure the warrenty wont cover mine cause I tried opening mine to fix the volume button but it didn't do anything. Buy another one unfortunately to replace the 1st one I bought.

Pros: Compact.
Cons: Short cable that attaches to your phone, sound quality, obnoxiously bright light when turned on.
If your expecting something decent, go else where. Just didn't cut it, compared to other portable speakers I came across before.

Best speaker ever
|
Pros: Very loud for the size and price. The people complaining it is not loud enough must have hearing problems. Everyone I have shown this speaker to is shocked at how loud it is. The most common word from people is "wow". While the speaker is loud, don't expect it to replace something more substantial, like an iPod docking station. The charge lasts for a very long time.
Overall great buy.

More a whisperer than a speaker

Pros: It works. It isn't too expensive.
Cons: Way to confusing what buttons to hit to make it work. I had to RTFM. Resets the volume every time to super soft. Turning the volume up gets you a little more sound than super soft.
Too quiet to be useful. If you want something portable to use where there is very little ambient sound, then this is for you. Otherwise, try a different one.

Great piece of equipment
|
Pros: Big Sound for such a tiny thing. Sounds FANTASTIC. Stays charged for a very long time.
Cons: My kids keep taking it! Buy more than one! Read the other reviews for tips on turning it on.
Great little speaker for a very little price . Don't hesitate! It's well worth the price.

Pros: Looks cool.
Cons: Didn't work right out of the box. The buttons are sort of hidden and are actually part of the speaker body.
I bought the portable rechargeable speakers 9727 which worked just fine. This speaker however would not even turn on.

Pros: Amazing battery life.

Cons: Buttons are not easy to operate unless you pick up the speaker. Small nitpick but that's about the only thing I didn't like.

Exceeded Expectation, Great Value

Pros: Light, good sound, lasting battery charge, great price
Cons: Nowhere in the instructions (actually, no instruction included) does it tell you that the buttons are the tabs under the different labels. You can press hard right over the 'volume', 'power', etc., labeled areas. BUT its the red curves section underneath that are the actual buttons.
I have tested perhaps a dozen speakers at this size and price range. None come close to the quality ans sound of these. You have to spend about $35 for a comparable sounding speaker elsewhere. AND about $40-45 for a better sounding mini speaker but those are less compact and heavier that this one. Great deal indeed.

Moderate use for 3 months, low-medium volume levels. Only needed to be charged 4 times but the speaker no longer emits any sound. Have tried multiple audio sources and fully charged, LED light comes on..but no audio

Excellent product. The speakers hold their charge for a long period of time, and sound great for being so small. Also, being rather inexpensive makes them very easy to daisy chain them together for even more powerful sound.

Good sound.. doesnt hold charge (10 month use)

Pros: Sound is good.. wife loved it at first. Daisy chaining to other speakers a plus.
Cons: After 3 months it started to not hold a charge properly.. so now she only uses it on her desktop at work as its always plugged in.
The 8953 is a much better product so far.. long charge.. very loud for size.. and still kicking.. Ordered 2 more of them and all good so far.

Wow, impressive saved our movie nights!

Pros: small, easy to use, can use while charging, impressively loud sound in an normal listening environment! Extremely short cables make it very portable. Battery powered for portability.
Cons: Extremely short cables make connections hard, but fixable with extensions. A little hard to tell how buttons are pressed as there are no etching or dots to clue you in (hint: the logo image is not the button the tab under it is what you press).
Great little itty bitty speaker for turning any pc/phone/tablet/etc. + monitor into a capable movie environment for a small listening environment. We were moving apartements and our stuff was still packed up but we wanted to enjoy our movie night, so I unpacked my PC monitor, laptop and realized that the sound was going to be aweful! Quickly unpacked this little speaker as it was brand new and Voila it was even better than had the Monitor been a real TV with TV speakers. I truly believe the bass with only one speaker was better than a normal TV.
WELL worth the small price for this little gem. Plan to use it to play and use my workout videos with my phone/tablet and belive it work work wonderfully!

The blue charging LED is ridiculously bright.
Cute, handy, and portable. Charge lasts for weeks of casual use - hour there, half hour here, primarily accompanying boring jobs like cleaning & laundry. Truly remarkable low frequency boost replaces the tinny sound of a cell speaker into genuine music, and because of its size, it is not a pain to pick up and transport with the phone. Works miracles on some cello-rich music I like.

I have it for 6 months. It is so easy to carry around. Work with any music player - iphone, ipod touch, laptops, MP3 players equipped with standard 3.5mm plug. No need to worry about driver nor compatibility issue.

Gets worse the longer I have it

Pros: Sound quality is great. Bass response is good. Loudness is very good. Battery lasts a very long time. Very portable and small.
Cons: Price was high considering I can get a similar (but not as small) speaker on Ebay for 1/3 the cost. The charging port is mini usb when every other thing I have in the house is charged with micro usb. Didn't come with a AC charger. I would have paid extra for that little necessity. Volume always resets to a lower volume then where I left it. Which leads me to my other gripe which is that the buttons are difficult to press and hard to find which is which since there are on the sides and all look the same.
I am writing this review not only because I dislike the product, price and features. But, also because I already wrote a review about this product and was contacted by Monoprice who asked me to revise it. So, now more than a month later I get YET ANOTHER email asking me to review this poor product.
Basically, it is simple. It's a cheap little speaker that makes great sound but is poor in the usability department. The longer I use this thing the more little issues I notice about it that I don't like.
If you want great sound AND something that is easy to use get the Jawbone Jambox.

Great little speaker!

Cons: Nothing that comes to mind... yet. I just got it about an hour ago.
I live in FL. I ordered this on shipped standard USPS on Sunday night and was using it by Thursday afternoon. Amazing!
One of the comments was about the short attached audio cord, so I also ordered and extra M/F cable, but don't really need it because I can use the 2' charger/audio cable for audio input.
Also, you have to hold down the on/off button for a few seconds for it to work, on or off. At first, I thought I had a dud, until Product Support chat straightened me outin less time than it took me type in my question. I love this gadget. And Monoprice too!

Pros: Great sound and can easily be carried around. the power button is bit hard to push but it avoids being turned on or left on by accident.
Cons: The one major issue (as mentioned in other reviews) is the lenght of the speaker cord is it way too short! I thought it was possibly not acurate... But it is! One suggestion to monoprice, package with a small extension cable you will make everyone happy and get 10s!

Pretty good sound from a small speaker. At $11 i thought it was a good deal...obviously so did MP. They rsised their price. The built in cable is short, but nice to have as a backup option. Charging cable is too short as well. Exoanding the speaker does have a noticeable effect, so its not just a gimmick. Nice gadget to gave...we'll have to see how long the charge lasts. -1Star for price increase, -1Star for short cables, -1Star cable types/configuration

Good value for the money for a travel speaker.... Many other reviews stated they were surprised at how loud the speaker is. I have the opposite feeling. I,m not sure, perhaps I have a defective unit but it does not get very loud at all. Its even hard to hear with a couple people in the room taking while its playing.

I mainly bought this speaker for a deep sea fishing trip in Mexico.
The boat we rented was old, and didn't have speakers to play some music. So I decided to bring my own music. However, the Boat motor was extremely loud and the noise didn't let us listen to our speaker.
I'm actually buying me another two for my next fishing trip to make them BLAST.
Highly recommended. They work fine, no issues whatsoever.
But I'll recommend you using atleast two if you are going to be in very LOUD places. If it's just in a park, a lake, or somewhere where the noise is not unbearable, one is good enough

Excellent value for this compact speaker. For the price, the sound is first in the class. When I first turned the speaker on, I couldn't believe how good the sound was. I will be using this for travel purposes and anticipate it's size will be beneficial.
The built-in audio cord hides away nicely underneath when not in use. However, the same cord is way too short (3") for any realstic application. Consider purchasing a female-male audio extension cord because one cannot be fooling around with a tiny wire like that. The speaker comes with a USB charging cable that splits into an additional audio-in cord. This audio-in cord is much more useful but is attached to the power cord, thus rendering the unit less portable.
Since I've just received the unit, durability has not been tested.
Ultimately, this is a powerful and portable speaker. Monoprice could probably enhance the usefulness with one small, inexpensive tweak (lengthen the audio-in cord). Highly recommended product.

Pros: A little powerhouse. Great battery life. Sound that belies it's miniscule size. Vocals are great, highs are transparent and clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this purchase to a friend.
Cons: Mine has one major problem.. The volume up/down controls do not work. Must use the source for all adjustments. Also, there are no instructions. Many people have no idea how to power the unit up.

I bought the speaker for use in a classroom setting- the cd players we are given at work are not very good and this easily outperformed them. The speaker was great for the first few weeks. Depending no the surface the speaker was on, I could get impressive bass. Unfortunately, after only a few weeks, the speaker stopped working when in the open position, and now it only works when I press down on the speaker part. It seems like something has become loose internally. I keep the speaker in my bag, which also houses many other electronics safely. The bag has seen no impact outside normal daily use. For a speaker that is supposed to be portable, it certainly seems too fragile.

This little speaker rocks! It may be small, but it packs a punch. It did take a while before I realized you had to press and hold the power button to turn it on, but aside from that I have been very satisfied with this little speaker. Hooks up to my Droid phone and sounds like a full sized stereo! Once again Monoprice does not disappoint! I have been a Monoprice customer for over a year and have been blown away by their pricing, customer service, fast delivery and quality! Thanks Monoprice!

I've read numerous reviews of this speaker all over the internet and finally decided to put it to the test. The sound is fantastic, its loud, full, and beats my laptop and small unpowered speakers by a mile. I do not own any speakers of this type to compare it to but I use it more than a Cambridge Soundworks iPod dock I own because it is much more portable and the sound is so excellent. I was blown away by the battery life also. I routinely go 6 hours before i recharge it. I have not yet timed a full battery drain but so far have not had an opportunity to listen to it so long. The included manual could use some improvement and the cable feels a little cheap, but it has been over a month and there have been no issues yet. For the price and purpose, this little speaker cannot be beat.

Great little portable speaker you can take anywhere! Sounds really good for such a small speaker, charges through a USB and doesn't take long to charge. I would recommend this speaker to anyone who likes to listen to music from their phone or ipod anywhere you go!

Cons: The speaker does not tell you how much life was left on the battery. It would help to just have the LED light to constantly blink when the charge was almost done.
Bought this for my 12 year old daughter this past Christmas an she loves it. I have to say, I think I like it even more than her especially since I have it most of the time. I would have to agree with others that the on board cord is very short, but all I do to solve that is use the cord that is included to charge the unit. Yes, the additional cord both charges the unit and can also be used to plug in your music source. Just connect the micro usb cord end to the speaker and then the 1/8" jack on the same cord to your mp3 player or phone. Now you have a 1ft cord.

Pros: Well made. Solid feel. Puts out fair amount of sound. Nice looking unit.
Cons: Control buttons spread around entire speaker. Short wires. No real difference in sound when expanded. Hard to tell when charge is complete. Must remember to hold down on/off button for a bit longer than expected to activate. Use red border for all controls.
Much better product than one from Groupon I bought, or one I heard that was purchased at TJMaxx.
So strong it almost jumps around the table. You can feel it vibrate.

I suspect there isn't even a speaker in this thing.
Was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this speaker from the moment I bought it online. Out of the box, it 'worked' straight away. The second it turned on though, I could hear static and garble, and it wasn't even plugged in. When I did plug it in, I was very disappointed in the poor-quality sound that came out of it. I'm considering cracking it open and using the guts in this makeproject (http://makeprojects.com/Project/MonoBox+Powered+Speaker/2396/2.UQ_ykhm9LCQ). Solves my issue with how to recharge the battery too...

After giving this thing a second look, this is what I've noticed:
-4 times out of 5, when I turn it on, it will hiss at about 50% volume either right away, or after about 5 seconds,
-when I plug it to an audio source and blast the volume to 100% on both the source and the speaker, I cannot detect any hissing,
-when I lower the source to about 50%, the hissing can be heard,
-when I pause the source, the hissing can be heard.
Maybe you can check one or two out for yourself to see if this is a common issue, or if mine is busted.
If it's just me, I'd be happy to exchange it.
If it is a common issue, I'll decide if it's worth paying to send it back or not.

Turning it on and off
|
Pros: Cheap.
Compact.
Better sound than unpowered speakers.
Cons: User interface not intuitive.
Mono sound.
This device is intended as a cheap and portable speaker to amplify the sound coming from a 3.5mm jack on a portable device. It's far better than unpowered speakers, but it's not a stereo replacement.
If you understand this: "You need to press and hold the red corner under the 1/0 symbol for two whole seconds to turn it on or off", you'll avoid frustration trying to figure it out and immediately enjoy the product. It works, really it does.
Either 3.5mm cable that comes with the item (internal 8" or 24" on power connector) will work when plugged into a device's speaker 3.5mm jack. For less than a dollar, I recommend adding a "6ft 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Jack M/F Cable" from Monoprice to your order to avoid worrying about cable length. You never know when you'll need it, and it likely won't cost more for shipping.
Another item to consider getting, is a "2 Port USB Wall Charger" or "2 Port USB Car Charger" if you're buying the speaker primarily for your smartphone so that you can charge both at the same time for extended periods without worrying about one or the other running out of juice.
I've used the speaker on car trips to augment sounds for multiple kids watching the same movie on a single iPad or laptop. The speaker is also good for portable presentations when a projector without a stereo is available. It sits nicely and smartly next to a smartphone playing or streaming music.
It's less clunky than the "Mini Rechargeable Portable Speaker (Pair)", especially when the charger cable is not attached, but the cost is non-stereo sound. It's cheaper, too, which is why you're looking at this product in the first place. If you need bass and stereo, get a bigger more expensive boom box with a 3.5mm AUX input. If you primarily want speakers for computer, consider getting desktop speakers that provide an audio device to your computer via USB.
I'm pretty happy with this speaker for portable uses, especially in the car, but use headphones or real speakers when available.

DOA - High Performance Portable Speaker

Pros: This is my third order from this company in the last 6 months. I think this company offers awesome value.
Cons: Poor instructions on how to turn on/off the speaker. I thought it was DOA! Sound quality is okay and after contacting technical support to find out what was wrong, all is well.
This high performance speaker has instructions that are not very clear. It is not intuitive on how to turn on this speaker. You have to hold down the red portion of the frame below the on/off icon for about 5 seconds.

Pros: Compact, can be strung together, satisfying sound improvement for nominal cost.
Cons: Poorly written instructions. I had to call support to solve my minor issue.

Pros: Quality for the price. Small and compact. Holds a charge for a very long time, great sound with good bass, can connect to another for deeper louder sound, sleek design

Purchased 2 of these as a christmas gift for ipods and kindle fires. I am very happy with the sound and quality of the speakers. Outstanding quality for the price! They look good and sound great. They even provide a nice bass sound. You can connect them together for louder deeper sound. I have charged them only once and they are still going a month later so I am very happy with the life of the battery. I would and have reccomended these speakers!

Cons: Took a while to figure out how to turn it on. You have to hold the on/off button for a couple seconds (figured that out by reading the reviews here).
Cord is so short that an extension is needed to reach the Nexus 7 audio port when in a cradle.
Great outboard speaker for my Nexus 7. Sounds like Hi-Fi compared to built in speakers. This speaker is perfect for using at my desk. Surprisingly loud and clear for its size.

Cons: It makes my dog bark when he thinks there is someone outside of the house. No speaker wire included.
I was able to make this system work with my "old fashioned" JVC RX518v receiver from 1996. All I needed was a Digital to Analog converter (monoprice 6884) and a Toslink optical cable. Everything sounds amazing in my small living room.

Great alternative to Kinivo
|
Pros: Small, good battery, expandable, great surface feel.
Cons: Not much for $20.
I had the exact same speaker from Kinivo for about a year which I purchased from Amazon. I don't fault Monoprice for finding a vendor and slapping their name on a good product with a slight change. Here though, the change is for the better. The Kinivo has a somewhat open bellows top with their name on it - while this worked fine for me for a year, I recently traveled and stuffed the speaker into my carry-on with some other cables and accessories. Unfortunately, something in my bag punctured the foil, making the speaker quite distorted. No doubt it was my fault, as I should have used the bag the Kinivo shipped with (which the Monoprice does not). But when I saw that MP's version has a full grill on the top, I figured it would be a safer unit to travel with. I use the extended USB/audio cable, so the length of the built-in cable doesn't bother me, although there have been times where I have my iPhone on the desk and just use the shorter cable to keep things neat. MP's price was lower than a Kinivo replacement, but with S&H added they are the same, and I'd rather give Monoprice my business!

You'd be hard pressed to find a mini-speaker that provided the quality and volume of sound that this speaker can produce. Factor in the low price and you have an excellent value.
The only negative I find with this is the short length of the cable built-in on the speaker itself. This is easily solved by either using the combo charge/audio cable that is included with the speaker or by purchasing one of the inexpensive 3.5mm male/female extender cables that are available on the Monoprice site (I purchased a 6' 3.5 m/f for $0.73).

The sound produced by this 1" speaker is impressive. I bought it to stream internet radio and with the laptop volume at only 50%, it's wall-to-wall sound in a 12' x 12' room. The mids are rich and the highs are crisp but not sharp. Obviously, the bass lacks a punch but is clearly defined. The build quality is very good and is simple to operate. Power is controlled by holding down the button for several seconds. The very short cord is integrated and tucks away neatly on the bottom. It comes with an additional, detachable micro-usb to usb cable with an additional audio jack. Very convenient for listening and charging at the same time. The battery life is EXCEPTIONAL. After the initial charge, I listened to it all day at work for over 2 weeks before it finally gave up. Speaker at full volume, laptop at 50% for 80+ hours. Amazing. Bought and shipped for less than $15. Monoprice-for-the-win. Again

So during the Holidays my girlfriend and I drove from Houston Tx, to Atlanta Ga. The car was not in the best of shape and in all honesty it was a roll of the dice into whether the car would actually get us there. (since has been replaced with a brand spanken new car) Now it was easy to live with the vibration at around 70mph and it was concerning that the car began making noise on take off every time 400 miles into our journey..... what was unbearable was that the stereo had just decided to lock all the keys and not allow us to turn it up past a whisper..... luckily we had just bought these speakers... we daisy chained 2 of them plugged them into the iphone,,,, and BAM instant car concert!! It was a christmas miracle. Batteries lasted us almost the entire trip which is and 18 hour trip. Not only did these speakers save our trip but possibly our relations ship.... 18 hours of "talking" would of broken me.

Pros: Compact. VERY SOLID! Nice hide away for the aux cord. So far long battery life. Great sound.
Cons: Not Bluetooth. That might be the only thing I can think of. I know people have mentioned the short connecting cord, but it has to be so it fits nicely underneath when not in use. My wife connects her phone so it doesnt need to be a long aux cord.
This little speakers Booms! Ok, maybe not like my Home theater set up, but My wife connects her Samsung Nexus and while cleaning upstairs had it cranking and It sounded good while I was down in the living room. I couldnt believe how good it sounded and how loud the little thing gets. Very solid feeling too. Heavy duty. I am considering purchasing a few more to connect together and get a little crazy by the pool this summer!

Pros: Rechargeable. Comes with extra 3.5mm output so you can chain another one to this and have stereo sound. It is good quality for the price. Bass is ok for the price. Sounds good. Loudness is adequate for the price. Everything is "for the price" because the speaker is only $14 which is also a plus because if I wanted theater sound I would spend $200 and not $14.
Cons: Highs could be better (the unit tends to work in the middle of the spectrum meaning that anything really high pitched or low pitched is not going to sound as natural as real life), cord is short so I have to use a 6 ft extension cord to extend it 5 more inches. Because the highs are not that great (I can hear them, but they could be a bit better) and the cord being short, I have to knock down 1 star. But the problem with the highs is only noticeable if you have fantastic ears like mine and understand sound like I do. Otherwise most people won't care.
I have only listened to it for about 2 hours so far so I can't comment on the longevity of it. So far, it works well and allows me to put my Kindle Fire on the stand and put the speaker next to it. I watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Walking Dead, and Hulu Plus shows on my 1st gen Kindle Fire. The 1st gen Kindle Fire's speakers are not very good, so this unit helps me listen to shows better. I do not use this for music or anything else but watching videos on my Kindle Fire. If you put this speaker about 3 feet away from you then you will not have any problems. I did test this out with my dad. He was in one end of the living room (25 feet away) and heard this fine on medium volume and could actually make out what Mac and Charlie were talking about. My dad wears a hearing aid and has about 50% hearing loss in one ear and about 30% hearing loss in the other ear without the hearing aids. It can't get too loud either. It is just the right loudness. Overall I would say this is a good investment. If it lasts only 6 months then I got my money's worth and I will just buy a new one from Monoprice.

Disappointing
|
Pros: Good bass response, compact, modern looking
Cons: Cord on speaker is too short, LED light is too bright, sound is not that much better than cheap Ebay speakers for less than half the price, charging cord is too short, buttons are hard to press
I was surprised after everyone spoke so highly of this little speaker I thought I would love it but it is not much better than a speaker my wife has that we paid one third the price of this one for. The charging cord is a joke and does not come with an ac adapter and the input cord from the speaker is far too short to be practical. The bass response of this little speaker is amazing though.

Unbelievable Value
|
Pros: Great Sound, Great Battery Life
Cons: Cord is short.
Great little speaker. I gave four of them for Christmas gifts and every person came back and said what an awesome sounding speaker. The sound can get a little muddy on you if you overload the input volume and the cord is on the short side ,but these are minor complaints. Pick one up and you'll see it's a fantastic value. Another Monoprice jewel.

figured out the power button and LOVE them

Pros: good sound for personal use
look cool
well built
Cons: short cable is silly - could be addressed by including extension
Hold down power button for 5 seconds to turn on.
Once I had that figured out these are a blast. Fiddle with your equalizer settings, play with volume limits to reduce distortion, etc. I bought 2 so playing with placement helped as well. Would have really like a 10 inch cable to connect the 2 together.

It's not DOA, you just have to know how to operate the ON switch..

OK, Here is the only operating instruction you are going to need to be happy with this speaker. Find the on switch. HOLD THE ON SWITCH FOR 3-5 SECONDS TILL THE BLUE POWER LIGHT COMES ON!!! Same to turn it off. It was so frustrating to have to come the reviews to get this information.
The sound gives a big boost to my tablet and MP3 player. Now I can listen to my music over the noise of the shower, while cooking over the noise of the TV in the other room, and I can play audio to a big room (50-60 seats) at church and have everyone hear the message (if they're quiet).

Great Powerfull Little Speaker

Pros: Great quality, smart styling, easy to use, and sounds amazing.
Cons: None.....I love it
This is an amazing little very "portable" speaker. I've tried other devices similar to this and none of them souns as good. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a smart phone or tablet. This speaker can be easily attached and make the unit sound crazy good. It is very well made. It does not feel like the cheap devices I have had in the past. As a matter of fact after buying one and listening to it I ordered 4 more.

Simply Fantastic
|
Pros: Fills the room. It is light and compact. When opened the bass is noticeable. It is not just a cheap simulation or distortion, the sound is full rich and wide. I bought 2 more. One to connect and one to gift.
Cons: Cord is a little short, but not a huge deal.
I would highly recommend this item. I've have a couple disappointing items like this for way higher price. Example. Brookstone sells a similar speaker for $50 at way less quality and volume. This product is easily heard outside or inside.

Awesome
|
Pros: Compact, great battery life.
Cons: Not enough bass.
This is a great little portable speaker. It has amazing battery life and decent sound for the size. I would love more bass and a longer connective cord, but for the most part, it rocks.

I use it when I am using my smartphone on speaker. It is loud and clear.
If you need a longer 3.5mm cord, Monoprice has a 6 in extension cord with two females 667, a six footer 648 that costs $0.73, on up to a 75 footer 652 that will set you back $4.60.

Amazing speakers for their size
|
Pros: Awesome sound and awesome battery life
Cons: Cord could be an inch or two longer
Great sounding speakers for their size and the battery is just as amazing. I've had two of them since September and am still on the initial charge I gave them. I only use them for 10-15 minutes each morning while getting ready in the bathroom for work and the charge is still holding up.

Surprising Performance

Pros: Small size, length of battery charge
Cons: Hard to use On/Off, Volume buttons. Short cord.
This speaker works very well for it's small size. When closed, it appears to be very durable. The speaker has a very short ( 1 foot) cord to connect to an iPod, iPhone, etc. It also includes another cord with a USB port and audio connection which is helpful, but would be better if the USB charger cord was a little longer so you could use this while plugged into a wall charger.

Great Little Rocker!

Pros: Loved the small size, collapsible profile, great battery life, variety of connection options and, above all, impressive sound.
Cons: None yet.
I ordered this and the Premium Sonic Resonance Speaker (6914). Shipping was quick, inexpensive and convenient, and I was immediately impressed with the shipping and packaging quality of the items. I was curious about how the two would compare, and I'm glad I ordered both.
The 8595 is the perfect size to be both portable and not embarassingly low-quality sounding. The battery life has already surpassed my expectations (having not managed to fully kill it yet), and I like the mini-USB connectivity. The built-in audio cable is convenient but short the included cable gives you more connection options.
Sound quality - let's remember one thing here: it's effectively a 1" speaker in this little guy, the cone of which isn't much bigger than the keys I'm typing on. That said, I was immediately impressed by the sound thing thing puts out. For one thing - it's LOUD. It actually seems like the little amplifier is doing its job. Clarity at lower volumes is also impressive - guitars, drums and especially vocals are reproduced pretty nicely. Of course the bass end isn't mind-blowing, but the pop-out expansion thing does make quite a big difference, and the result is a sound quality that is only slightly bright and shrill-sounding. Definitely better suited for rock than electronic, though still pretty good at both. Overall very impressed, I would seriously consider buying a second to daisy-chain together for a rudimentary stereo configuration.
I wonder if this wouldn't benefit from a little patch of that gel-like base used in the 6914 for some low frequency gains, the feet don't do much good in stabilizing the unit.
In comparison, the 6914 definitely does a better job of reproducing lows, but lacks the mid and high clarity of this speaker.
Overall a great unit - highly recommended for any mobile listener!

Pros: Worked as advertised
The speaker works fine. The sound is good for the price.
I bought the Monoprice speaker to connect to a X-MINI portable speaker which is more expensive but sounds better. The cable that comes with the Monoprice speaker is very handy in charging and connecting to the X-MINI speaker. Overall speaking, it is nice speaker for the price.

I've had this for a coupe months now, it beats the horrible FM transmitter i used to use to watch movies on my iPad in my car at work. My buddy loved it and bought one. My friend-girl bought one and she and i use it during R-rated activities and it is perfect. Usher and Keith Sweat never sounded that good on her iPhone dock that cost 5x as much. This is not a Bose sound dock, but it's a surprisingly powerful portable speaker.

Small But Powerful Enough to Get the Job Done

Pros: Compact, Attractive, Easy to hook up. Good tonal range
Cons: Theres a trick to turning them on
Love the futuristic look and the portability. Good sound and you can achieve decent volume for their size. Took me a while to figure out how to turn them on. You must hold down the "on" button for several seconds before they come to life. You can not just click it. Works like a charm once I figure that out.
The pig together easily and as you add speakers the fullness of sound seems to grow too.
