Cheap, fit through rack-screw holes, break easily

Cons: They break when stressed. I am not a living torque wrench, but I know I am NOT putting 40lbs of pull on them when they snap and horribly fail.

More importantly, these fit through the rack-screw holes which make lacing in cabling much nicer. Better zipties will not fit through the holes with out severe force.

Cable ties.
|
Cons: They look good but I have pulled on them a little too hard and they snap and are worthless. If you are careful they are okay but they are not serious cable ties.

Cons: Break very easily
As with the smaller ones, these break very easily. You can basically look at them and they'll break. I've broke more of these than I've actually been able to use because they snap in two with the slightest touch. For about 1 cent per cable tie, you can't really complain much though.

Ties were dried out
|
Cons: Half of them would snap when trying to tighten them down. Clearly these have been sitting in a warehouse to too long, under some sort of heat source. They were dry, and inflexible.

You can't beat this deal for the price. I've used these cable ties for a number of things and they are very useful. If your making an order on monoprice, pick some of these up.... you wont regret it.

This is a Monoprice Fail. I’ve never had issues with zip ties from any manufacturer except for these. They break very easily (well below the listed max strength listed). They seem to get worse over time after being left out of the bag for a few months. They’ve sent me replacements, but they’re just as bad. It’s not just this model, but all zip tie models.

Avoid.

Pros: Not all of the cable ties snapped as they were being installed.
Cons: But most did.
Brittle, brittle, brittle. These ties will snap at any point. I had several bags in both 8" and 11" lengths and ended up throwing all away.
Buy these somewhere else.
2 /10 for the 20% that did not immediately fail.

Pros: cheap
Cons: useless, 2 out of 5 will break on first pull they are so brittle. Monoprice should not carry this product! I always love other products from Monoprice but this is a very disappointed product.
All together I bought over 20 pack of cable ties including releasable, all have the same BAD quality.

Great if they don't snap apart
|

Cons: Occasionally, they just break
These cable ties work as well as any, except for one thing: Occasionally they just snap in two as they are being bent around a bundle or pulled tight. It is not from too much tension, it is either from an occasional weak spot or more unlikely a brittle spot in the plastic.
At first, I had the Monoprice zip ties mixed in with older ones, so I couldn't be sure that the Monoprice parts were at fault. I finally used up the older ones and am using the Monoprice ones straight out of the marked bag, so now I know.
When using them, once in a while, I'll just be wrapping one around a wire bundle or starting to pull it tight and, without warning, it just snaps in two. If you are in an awkward spot where it is hard to install the cable tie, and it then it just snaps, it is aggravating. At such moments, I say unkind things about Monoprice. It might be 1 out of 5 or 25, but I've been using cable ties for decades, and never had them break unless I used too much force when tightening them.
I'm now retired and just doing hobby projects, so I'll finish off my stock and not buy more from Monoprice. If I still had my manufacturing company, I'd give them all away employees and choose another source for this item.
I'll still use Monoprice for lots of other items, just not zip ties.

Excellent Quality
|

Cons: Not cheaper?
What more can I say than I the ties don't feel cheap but are priced that way. I use them to manage computer/monitor/speaker cables on my desk to give a clean look. Not a bad cable tie in the bag.

Pros: Very inexpensive.
Cons: Completely unusable.
These ties are not UV rated, and apparently not rated for any kind of use, as simple exposure to the air outside the package renders them so brittle they literally break when forming the loop for tightening. If you can actually get one to tighten down without breaking, you will find it broken within a week. I can't believe Monoprice sells these.

Bought a large supply of these. Extremely brittle. They snap off when you try to pull them snug. Totally useless. No way did MONOPRICE not know about this defect but they chose to ship them anyway.

Zip Ties
|
Pros: Stay put
Thought they were a little different, didn't realize they were just zip ties. Doesn't really matter get the job done for what I wanted. Came in handy putting up my new moon (not in reference to vampires or that gunk, an actual moon) night light in my dorm. :D
I have had some zip ties that don't really grab so well, these seem to hold just fine.

for 100 zip ties and $3 iirc, this is a good dea. the only problem is that the zip ties are one of few things: they are either old or dried out. the reason i say this is because when i started using the zip ties many of them broke while starting to tighten.
will this stop me from buying in the future? no, as this is the least expensive solutoin i have found for these.

|
I used these with the 20x20 cable tie mounts for the back of my desk.
Used to be a mess of wires, now its the cleanest setup i have ever seen!
Also, these are the cheapest cable ties, ever!
Everyone else at a retail store wants $5+ for only 50 Cable Ties, $10+ for 100 Cable Ties!
While I spend only a buck, you can't even buy a soft drink for this price!

Not so Great
|
I am a AV installer - these are not very good, they are very hit and miss weather they will hold when a cable bundle is sinced down. I had more fail than worked and then tried to move the bundle and the ties started to pop off.

These are REALLY low quality zip ties. At work, I use high quality zip ties and know how they're supposed to work. I decided to get these zip ties for personal use at home and I was very disappointed. The low quality nylon is excessively flexible and stretches as soon as you try to tighten a bundle. Decent zip ties? Not really. Will they work if they have to? Yeah, if you're careful. Worth more than a buck? No way.

Cable Tie Review
|
For the price these are an amazing value. My bag did have some that seemed to have manufacturing defects. They did not seem to stay zipped shut. In a bag of 100 I would say I have encountered maybe 5 that were this way. For the price though this is to be expected. When I ordered these a year ago though they were just fine. Maybe this was just a bad batch. Overall the value out weights the problems and I would order these again.

Easy to use, but may go with something smaller next time. I mainly used these for A/V cables and have to cut off atleast a few inches of each tie, so the 8 inch was not necessary for my use. But overall, they hold up well and are durable.
