no good
|
Pros: cheap
Cons: don't snap in/not standard size
Good price on these RJ-45 plugs. Problem is, they are sized incorrectly, and do not snap in, therefore even brushing up against the wire will pull it from the device. It was the same on several cisco routers, switches, two laptops, and a desktop mac, so it is not my devices. Save yourself the hassle and pass on these. I made over 15 patch cables with these adapters, then realized they don't snap in, and had to re-build all the cables with another brand.
by Monoprice Administrator Hello,
Sorry to hear about the problem you had with the rj-45 plugs. We do offer a 30 return policy and after 30 days from date of delivery date, but within 3 months, we can only issue a store credit. If you like I can get either of these started for you I would just need an order number to get the process going. Again my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely
Tjayi Malone Tech Support

They are, in fact, 8P8C plugs!
|
Pros: Plastic, gold plated conductors
Cons: None
CAT5 plugs! 50 of them! In a bag!
Far and away the greatest value out there. You'd pay upwards of $15 for these at Home Depot. Great job MonoPrice!

These plugs have a large rectangular opening, too large to properly clamp standard flat cordage. I usually use the striped jacket of the flat cord to shim the cord in the area of the cord clamp wedge to correct this problem. Round cordage will be clamped correctly.
