Good Product
Pros: Easy to use
Works wel
Pricel

I bought it to create a wireless connection for a computer used by my grandkids in the front part of the house. I had attempted to use another product but it was ineffective. I was amazed at the signal strength which this product brought to the computer.

Extend life of my 2006 iMac
Pros: Cheap, Fast and it works on OSX.

Cons: Feel like it's fake because it's so lightweight.

Received this within 3 business days, can't believe it. First, I plugin to my 2006 iMac, nothing happened (no light indication, OSX couldn't detect the device). Then check back to this reviews again and download software from realtek. Take a few more minutes to setup and reboot. Now it's working and I'm happy with this upgrade.

Pain to install. Works otherwise.
I attempted to install this on an old xp machine that was bought upto date with the latest drivers etc. After visiting their driver page on the web I completely failed to install these likely because the driver page linked may be the wrong one. Finally I decided to use the CD. Which was a half size CD like a mini disc which would not read on multiple laptop computers to even get the darn files off of it.
I had to rip out a CD writer out of desktop machine convert it to work on a laptop with adapters just so that I could get a drive that read it. Hint they have to be a complete drive tray. Not laptop friendly.
After that the drivers presented me a choice of three different product pictures with no real labels I had to guess which one belonged to what. Well I made a few mistakes but ultimately clicked on the right one. Then it installed and worked fine. No issues there. In a world where wireless cards can be plugged in and simply work with no additional drivers needed, I don't like this. What happens when the next windows comes out and there may not drivers for it? However it's cheap. It does take up significant space where you can't plug in another usb next to it. I had to use a USB extension cable so that it could be plugged in without messing around. I would still rate it a 5 as it did what it was supposed to do and the price of a happy meal but it was a timesink at the beginning. It also got full bars all the way across a small house from the router.

Works GREAT!
Pros: Quick and easy install.

Cons: None.

I received this wireless adapter today... installed the drivers that came on the cd, and plugged it into a pc running xp. It found my apple airport express and connected to the internet. Of course I had to enter all the security info for the AE...but that took maybe a minute. Total install time... around 5 minutes.

Works in Windows 8
Pros: Easy installation on XP, Win 7 and Win 8. Can be used as a access point.

Cons: Can not fit another USB stick if USB ports are vertically mounted side by side. Should come with a small USB extension.

Do not plug in until software is installed and you have restarted computer. Software is great but not novice friendly.

SLOW
Pros: It connects wirelessly from about 30 feet away.
Inexpensive.

Cons: We have 15/5 Fios, and all our other devices connect and get this speed. This one does not. It crawls at 3/2.

We had a very difficult time getting it to work initially. Then even more trouble to connect to a wireless printer.

It does work, but barely and very slow. Not recommended.

Works as described.
Pros: Cross platform (win, mac, linux)
Perfroms well for a usb nic without external antenna.

Cons: Mac drivers were a little hard to find.

Great product for the price, chipset is cross platform.

Poor reception
Pros: Small, cheap

Cons: Poor reception, not getting higher than 60 Mbps connections to a 300 Mbps N router

I installed the latest Realtek drivers for this device and tried it on my Windows 7 64-bit HTPC and found the reception to be pretty weak to my 802.11N 300 Mbps router. From the same location, other devices are able to connect at 150-300 Mbps, and this device does not even get close to 150 Mbps consistenly.

Hello Damaster,

Thank you for your review. Keep in mind that all your devices need to be wireless N for the wireless N speeds to work properly. If you have one G device on your network it will downgrade the network to G speeds appropriately. I hope this clarifies it for you. Thank you!

Great Wireless Adapter
Pros: USB. Great reception.

Cons: If installing on Windows 7 machine ENSURE you are fully updated. This device WILL NOT WORK with vanilla Windows 7. One of the patches that is downloaded and installed using default update settings must be installed before this will work. I've used three of these and each time I've had to fully update Windows 7 before the wireless will work. You do not need the default drivers if you update Windows 7 but they are there if you need them? I did not need them for any of my installs.

Wide... can not plug anything into an adjacent USB without force. Does not come with drivers, these must be downloaded from a site linked to in the product page.

Works as advertised once you have updated Windows 7.

Very good buy.
Pros: It was very easy and quick to install and work very well. It's install in a room on a second floor over the wifi router and the signal is 4/5.I did not though it would be that good at this low price.

Allowed me to avoid reloading/replacing a laptop
Pros: cheap, easy, installed and worked without a reboot

Cons: none

Win 7 Laptop's wifi went wonky and I didn't want to spend the time to troubleshoot and possibly replace it. The 6146 software loaded with an issue, OS found the dongle without a reboot. One button wifi setup worked flawlessly.

This is also an upgrade from Wifi g, speedtest.net showed 12Mbps.

Recommeneded.

Works great!
Pros: Quick connection when using their program

Cons: Doesn't automatically connect to wireless network. Have to reconnect after waking the computer...

This was a good second choice. The smaller device wasn't available at the time so I bout this one instead. The most difficult part was getting the drivers installed on my Mac. They send a very small disc that doesn't work with macs. After finding the website for the drivers, it was quick and simple to get the program working. This device uses a separate program to connect to your wireless network. You have to manually connect each time. Overall, it's a good product.
