Surge suppressors are designed to absorb damaging electrical spikes and surges that would otherwise damage your valuable equipment. When they've taken the fall for your equipment, they need to be replaced with a fresh suppressor, which can carry on protecting your equipment.
This SurgeBloc® is a replacement for the surge protection module included with
PID 8476. When the included module has done its duty and can no longer provide protection, an audible alarm will sound, indicating that it should be replaced.
If you are lucky, and your power company provides nice clean power, you won't need to replace them very often. However, even the best power source has fluctuations and surges, so it is best to have at least one spare on hand so that your equipment never has to go without proper surge protection!
