Adapter showed intermittent failure via cable tester. Monoprice happily and promptly refunded me with no questions, but audio adapters and cables from Monoprice are really becoming poor quality (half my recent cable order had to be returned). At least their customer service is still top notch, but what's the point if the product continually fails?

Good connector
|
Pros: Great for conversion of cable diameter
Cons: The 1/4 inch side are too tight and the cables are kind of forced when placed therefore make a little noise or interference on the signal.

Defective but replacement sent
|
Pros: The price was unbeatable.
Cons: The original part was defective but it was not worth sending it back for a replacement. See review for follow-up.
I contacted Monoprice about the defective part and told them it was not worth sending back for a replacement. I made no requests but Monoprice offered to send a replacement. I am impressed. Mail order purchases have the liability that if the product is defective, the cost of shipping a part back for a replacement can nullify the saving. I also know that a company can be cheated by dishonest people who will lie about a defective part in order to get something for nothing. Thank you to Monoprice for their confidence in my honest. That is priceless to me.

Learned the hard way, not a stereo splitter
|
Pros: Splits a stereo signal into two mono 1/4" cables.
Cons: Does not separate the stereo signal into a left and a right channel.
Bottom line: this adaptor takes a stereo signal from the 1/8" side and sends both L and R channels out along each 1/4" channel. I bought this thinking it would separate the L channel onto one 1/4", and the R onto the other, but it doesn't.

Does not split stereo to L and R channels
|
I bought one of these thinking I could plug it into a 1/8" stereo output jack, and get left and right channels to run into speakers. It does send audio to the two speakers, but it doesn't split left and right. According to tech support, it works if you want to mix L and R 1/4" mono channels into 1/8" stereo, but not in the other direction.

gotta love monoprice!!!
|
i also wanted to try this one for my pc karaoke set up which also works good. but i think the mono to mono plug sounds better tho.

Good, but...
|
Pros: Good Price
Cons: I am glad I bought extra because a couple have stopped working and I have to replace them.
Most of them worked really good. I love the price compared to Radio Shack.
