Works without a hitch

Pros: Easy installation, solid connection, low price

I have a very nice LG 32" flat screen in the house that was no longer being used. I thought I would try using it as a desktop monitor, but quickly realized that my computer had a DVI out but the TV lacked a DVI input. So I bought this adapter, and after about a one minute installation my DVI cable was connected to one of the HDMI inputs on the back of the TV. It's nice to be able to make full use of the TV as an oversized computer monitor, for all of about $5.

Pros: Price, Size, bi-directional
Cons: Can't take any strain, it will break the HDMI(M) end right off.
Over all a good product, especially when connecting dis-similar digital connectors between PC's and Displays

Pros: The cable is exactly what I needed to connect a second monitor to my computer. It did the job and I get as good a view as if I had bought a $100 cable. I will definitely go to Monoprice for all my cable needs and then some.

Good product

Pros: The adapter works fine and seems to be a good quality. I've been using it for a month or so and haven't had any issues with it. It seems to be well made but only time will tell.
Cons: The only thing I can think of which really wouldn't be fair to classify it as a "con", is that I wish it was smaller. By the time you plug the DVI-D into it and it into the laptop you've got quite a hunk of hardware sticking out the side of the laptop but I suppose it's unavoidable. They all seem to be about this size so it's just the nature of the beast.
It works as promised and as long as it keeps working I have nothing negative to say about this product and would certainly recommend it.

Pros: Worked perfectly right when i plugged it in - didn't have to modify any settings (except left or right screen orientation for dual screens). Never have had any issues with it since i got it.
Cons: With the DVI cable is plugged into the Adapter - the combo extends far off the back of the computer - I've gotten used to it.

Pros: Price, quality
Cons: On the Dell computers we install these in (and I assume other brands would be similar) the HDMI port is very close to the VGA port. We use these for dual monitors so we need something plugged into both. These adapters crowd the VGA plug so we have to remove the screw on the VGA connector closest to the HDMI to make them both fit nicely.
Works great and comes at a terrific price. Most other people sells these in the $20-$30 range. It's a well put together product - not a cheap piece of plastic.
Like the description says it's DVI-D, so you can only attach a true digital device to it unlike a DVI-I plug. So you couldn't use this in conjunction with a DVI male to 15 pin female adapter to get 2 VGA monitors working on your computer.

Great adapter at a great price

Pros: Works well as advertised with no problems
Cons: could have removable mounting nuts, to make using temp connections easier.
could have a tail to make the unit less vulnerable when attached to computer as it is rigid and very vulnerable when plugged in
This is a great adapter. Small and compact it allows HDMI connections to DVI-D with no fuss. Love it. Was looking for one with a tailm but this was the closest I could find at monoprice.

Nice solid connector but wasn't the right one
|
Pros: Solid plastic molded case.
Cons: Seems to be the wrong size for what I needed. If you're adapter challenged like I am physically count the pins. This adapter had and extra column of pins.
This and all the others I've ordered in it's class are all very solid thick plastic the adapter has a weight and feel of solidly built adapter it's going to last.

Pros: I'm in love with these guys. First time customer and for sure I'm here to stay. Fast service, great prices, and do take the time to provide all the information to make an informative decision. What a concept! They should be a model for how to do business.
Cons: Nada.
Works as expects. Due to my laptop poor design the spacing between the VGA and HDMI outputs is too close. Can hardly plug in both cords at the same time. I'll keep it and will order another solution.

Simple cheap HDMI to DVI adaptor

Pros: Simple, works perfect
Cons: Stiff adaptor seems to put a lot of stress on my HDMI port.
This adaptor was to connect my netbook to my apple cinema display. The adaptor instantly worked upon connection. Only issue is that this type of adapter is a single piece that is not flexible. This causes the HDMI port to receive a lot of bending stress, which I'm not too happy about.

HDMI review
|
I don't think I can say enough good about monoprice and their cables. I'm currently going to school for live show production at Full Sail University and use some of the most expensive equipment and cables available. For any project I've worked on personally, I have relied on monoprice to provide a dependable CHEAP cable. Price is very important to us college students. I tell everyone I meet in the industry about Monoprice. You guys are awesome!

Ordered 5 of these, and ended up with 2 different ones. They both have the same PID and UPC, but one is slightly longer and is a bit better to plug in other cables beside of it. The other is shorter and is impossible to plug in a DVI cable beside of it on my ATI Radeon HD 5670 video cards.
If you get this, you may want to order PID 2891 with it http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?p_id=2891 (8" HDMI port saver) so that you don't have to worry about adjacent cables fitting.

Pros: Worked.
Previous satellite receiver had DVI output, new receiver has HDMI output. Cabling in the wall at out the swing arm is DVI to HDMI. Used adapter to connect new receiver without changing cable. I removed the speakers from the TV when I installed it so audio isn't a consideration. (Audio runs through amp to surround speakers.) Should have run HMDI-HDMI cable in the first place and used a DVI-HDMI adapter, but that was less obvious years ago.

Pros: Fits in the snug spot on the XBOX360 below the audio adapter. Allows 360 from HDMI to DVI for my monitor, works great!

I bought this adapter to be able to use my Xbox 360 via HDMI out on my 20 in widescreen computer monitor. My monitor only has DVI in, so this allows me to connect it without poor quality of VGA.
Pared with the Optical Audio Out adapter for Xbox 360 that mono price has, there is enough room to plug this adapter into the HDMI out.

There's no reason something like this should cost over 50 bucks. Thanks to MP, it doesn't. Since it's digital, you know if it works, it's as good as it gets, as opposed to analog where signal integrity could suffer due to build quality. If you need to make the conversion from DVI to HDMI, get this.

good, cheap solution

Pros: This inexpensive adapter allowed me to convert an expensive DVI cord to HDMI, allowing the use another much-needed HD digital input to my TV.
Cons: Through no fault of the converter, DVI cables and connectors are larger, and heavier, than HDMI. This means that to maintain a secure connection, you may have to prop up your DVI cable on something, like the shelf the connected unit sits on, to take some of the weight off of the connection.
Cheap, works great, doesn't degrade the signal, a good solution to some common problems.

Pros: Nice quality, cheap price, does what it needs to do.
Cons: Shipping was slow but was in no rush for the time to arrive.

Wholly Unremarkable Adapter Does Its Job
|
This a wholly unremarkable adapter, which, serving its purpose acts in much the same manner as the factory worker who shows up to work every day. You don't see him (because of course he is in China, but that's not my point) but every day he churns out millions of product. This little factory worker is easily forgotten but every day churns out millions of pixels. Unlike a factory worker, this little unit requires no food, no workplace safety laws, no workman's comp, and can operate in that most hazardous of conditions, my basement.

Simple Adapter, Great Price
|
Monoprice helped me solve a problem with my Home Theater system without the high cost we are all too familiar with from other sources. I needed a simple DVI cable adapter and I was able to find one quickly on the Monoprice Web Site.
I am completely satisfied with the quality of the part received and impressed with the whole ordering and delivery process.

Great product, perfect price.
|
Feels heavy and high quality, solid HDMI connection. I'm using it with a pair of DVI over cat6 extenders pushing 1080p over 60feet of cat6 and it works exactly as advertised. And as always, monoprice runs circles around the competition.

Great Adapter
|
This adapter worked perfectly for me. Plug and play. Signal is perfect, as it should be with a digital source. You can't really go wrong with this one. The only minor disadvantage is its size (length), as it sticks out of the back of my computer a bit. Not a big deal. Otherwise, it's perfect.

|
Do not buy the expensive cable at the box store unless you have much more money to blow than you need. These work just fine, and won't put your budget in a bunch.

My new Dell desktop came with a DVI connector on the monitor but not on the tower which had an HDMI connector. Purchased adaptor from Monoprice for a fraction of the Dell
price. No problems - works fine. Monoprice pictures of the product made it easy to be confident I was ordering the correct part.

High Quality & Low Price, It Must Be Monoprice!
|
Really useful product. What I did was buy a HDMI/DVI cable and then order this adapter so I can have 2 cables in one. DVI to PC and HDMI to HDTV or HDMI on both ends. Quality is just to be expected from monoprice, EXCELLENT!

Excellent product at an excellent price!
|
I often wonder why people still buy products like this at retail outlets? I mean this was 90% cheaper on Monoprice.com then at my local Radio Shack. Being this the first time using the site I am 100% satisfied and WILL be returning if I need another item in the future.
People, stop being mindless meat with eyes and stop paying retail prices. Monoprice rocks!

Quality PS3 Converter Tool
|
I used this for a while in order to convert the video from a PS3 to an external monitor, and it worked wonderfully with no complaints. Keep in mind if you order this, odds are you aren't going to get audio going through this converter, so keep that in mind when you're looking at how to hook up your system. (the PS3 can send video out the HDMI port and audio out the composite port)

Why pay monster prices?
|
Had previously purchased a 35' DVI to HDMI cable from Monoprice to hook my HTPC up to a projector. When I finally gave in and bought a real Blu-Ray player, I needed an adapter.
The brick-and-mortar, surprisingly, was selling a very similar adapter for $34.
Not only was this 10X cheaper, but it was shorter than the other adapter, making for a much better fit in my audio rack.
One nice thing about the version from the brick and mortar, though their liberal return policy meant I could enjoy my new Blu-Ray player while waiting for my Monoproce replacement to arrive. :)
