It works quite well.
|
Pros: Allows for multiple directions that USB plugs can be plugged in from. External power supply is powerful enough. To run the massive quantity of devices needed for my current usage.
Cons: I can't find any.
I needed a USB hub quickly. I ordered this one and was quite pleased. My testing was able to move forward. I needed 6 devices plugged into a notebook with 2 ports. and they all wanted some power. This solution worked.

Works great with my MK808B Android TV Stick
|
Pros: - Black - Low profile - Solid construction - Plenty of ports - External power adapter included
Bought this to pair with my MK808B Android TV Stick. Works perfectly without any issues. Really like the two USB ports on top under the sliding panel - great for USB memory sticks.

Great performance
|
Pros: Stable, no disconnects so far. Two ports on the top are very convenient and easily accessed.
Cons: None so far
I'd consider this hub to be one of the best ones out there for the price. At one point I've plugged in two 3.5" HDs, an external DVD burner, a 2.5" HD and a USB key all with total stability. Basically it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do and it's doing it well.

Great USB that works
|
Pros: For 2amps you won't find better quality at this price, you can find more expensive but crappy quality. It's a win - win here.
Cons: I have been using my usb hub for over a month and it's been great. No complaints
Received the package in great shape, I ordered two of them and they were packaged very well. I wanted a usb hub that can deliver 2amps to use on my UG802 Android tv stick, and I was able to plugin a logitech c270 webcam with microphone and it worked great.
Thank you Monoprice for quality product.

Worked well, until it failed
|
Pros: Straightforward 7 port powered USB 2.0 hub
Cons: Hub internally failed after about 18 months of service. Also, the AC adapter casing fell apart while plugged into the power outlet. Had not touched it for many months, it just came apart in my hand as I was unplugging it.
Upon reconnecting the hub to my computer it complained that the USB device was 'drawing too much power.' This despite the external power pack being connected, and nothing in any of the USB hub ports. I disconnected all cables including power supply, reconnected just the USB cable to computer, same power draw error. Swapped USB cables, same error. Hub appears completely dead, power LED stays off. I liked it up until it failed.

Works Great
|
Pros: It works
Cons: Port placement
I've got this connected to my PS3. I've had 4 controllers charging at one time, I have a cheap "HipStreet" wireless key board plugged in, type in your message hit enter, works great. I have a 49' monoprice usb extender that I plug a 6' monoprice usb cable then a wired controller I can play my games in my B.R.( I also have a 2 port monoprice hdmi splitter that I run a 6' a 50' cable-L.R.-B.R. off the PS3 works great.) The only thing I don't like about the hub is the ports are 3 one side 2 the other side and 2 on top so your wires are sticking out all over the place. It would be great if they made one inline with the same parts. But it works good. I bought another one for the grandsons PS3

|
Pros: Plug-n-play installation, charges mobile phones, Kindle Fire, mp3 player with no problems connection from digital camera works perfectly
Seens to be well made, sliding cover for a couple of the ports (on top), others arranged around the sides. Seems to supply adequate power to charge any device attached so far.

Pros: Powers 7 devices over USB
Cons: I'd prefer a strip rather than 3 ports on one side, 2 on another, and 2 under a movable shield
It's just what I was looking for, so that's good. It doesn't solve the problem of having to find the other end of the right cable.

Expansion is easy
|
Pros: 7 ports, powered and nice compact design. Experienced no problems connecting multiple devices
Cons: None so far
I bought two of these in order to expand the USB ports on my desktop so that I would not have to plug directly into the back of the tower. One I was using for a Raspberry Pi minicomputer in order to add flexibility.
It is straightforward and easy. The computer immediately recognizes the drivers and you're ready to plug other devices in. I've had a docking station, two gamepads and a usb device connected all at once with no hiccups. Great for those with laptops with limited USB ports or desktops where you don't want to keep reaching in the back or front of the tower for more ports. Highly recommended.

Pros: Works perfectly, light, small. Neat 2 up facing USB slots (very handy).
Cons: None
does what a hub should do. Used it for a month, no trouble. I immediately switched the mouse, keyboard and printer to this hub, still have 4 empty slots. Very handy 2 up facing USB slots, which are also covered by a sliding plastic cap, which keeps them clean. No particular noise, as some other reviewer complained.

Ipad and Ipod Touch will not charge
|
Pros: Plenty of ports to use.
Cons: Will not Charge my Ipad 2 or Ipod touch 4G. Will not charge either device even when plugged in by itself.
Will not charge either APPLE device even when plugged in as the only device. Tech support sent at RMA as defective, but now I wonder if a replacement would work after reading the other Reviews. I purchased this as a charger only and not a data transfer hub, so it didn't meet my expectations. I opted for a refund.

Works Just Great
|
Pros: This little expander has been great. I needed a cheap powered USB hub to run external drives plus some non-powered things (burner etc.) Just sits there and keeps everybody happy!
Cons: Someone in customer service had to find this for me (I asked for powered hubs) as there are many too choose from.
Quality of hubs can vary as much as reviews so I spend a long time trying to find the right one. This did the trick, never had a problem. Have several USB drives hooked up - burners etc. It works - hey! Thanks.

7 port hub,
|
Cons: 2 hidden ports, so if you are hard mounting this unit its really a 5 port hub....
Build well product, however not mounting positions but this was something I would have like to have, currently its Cable tied to the back of my 19" Touch Screen. Dislike the 2 hidden ports.

Great Buy from Monoprice, as usual
|
Pros: The power supply means you can do just about anything that you could do with a normal usb port.
Cons: None so far.
I was really tired of the fantastically scarce two USB ports that came with my Macbook and this here device fixed that right up. I can use mouse and keyboard, charge my iPod and Kindle and still have room for two external harddrives.

Pros: 1. Works as expected. 2. Able to provide power to a Raspberry Pi computer
Cons: 1. Strange cover over the top two USB ports seems unncecessary

Pros: the device works great! it's sleek looking and doesn't require the power cord unless you're USB is pulling some power or you have all 7 usb plugged in.
Cons: it doesn't have stick or very good ruberized feet so the weight of the cables tend to pull it back off of my desk.
Performance wise - I would definitely recommend this product!

A solid hub
|
Pros: 7 port, pretty lights
Cons: None really.
Allows connection of an incomprehensible number of USB devices, or 7. Has a nice design with a sliding top that reveals two ports, and lots of pretty lights. It is a bit large, which is not a problem on a desk, but you will want to pick a smaller hub if you plan on packing it with your laptop.

Good USB Hub But Could Be Greater
|
Pros: + Price and Value + Small Footprint (device itself, not including the necessary connections) + Slide Covered Top for vertical USB ports + Status Indicator Lights + External Power (Good for charging devices)
Cons: - AC and USB data connections are on rear right side of unit (adding to the footprint of the device) - Tight fitting USB connections (sometimes difficult to remove cables and/or devices) - Short included USB to mini-USB cable - AC adapter plus is a little on the bulky side
Other Thoughts: The device itself works. It has nice evenly spaced ports (3 on the left, 2 on top, and 2 on the right) so that wide cables and devices such as flash drives can be plugged in together. My biggest complaints are that the AC and USB data connections are on the right side of the unit. It definitely would have made it more better if those connections came out from the rear/back side of the unit. Also the included USB cord is a little on the short side. I think 6 feet would have been better instead of the included ~3 foot cable.
I also would not have minded losing another USB port for a split USB connection similar to those found on external hard drive enlosures, thus dropping the AC adapter altogether, but then you would lose external device charging capabilities.
Overall its a great value. Would definitely buy again if they changed the design to have the connections coming out from the rear.

Unfortunate power supply problems
|
Pros: Great-looking USB hub that works.
Cons: When the power supply has a problem, this hub does some really bad things. On two separate computers with these hubs, the computer was unable to boot at all.
The real problem here is the AC-DC power adapter. On the two that I bought, one came with a bad power adapter, and the other developed that problem after about 8 months. When I had the first problem, Monoprice sent out a replacement. When the second one went out on me, I just unplugged the power supply to make it an unpowered hub.
I'm not sure what the hub does wrong exactly, but when it is getting the wrong power from the adapter, it completely keeps a computer from booting. On one of the PCs, the user had replaced the PC's power supply before he realized it was the USB hub preventing boot.
Just please source better power supplies in the future!

USB hub
|
Pros: eliminated the intermittant problems with my external hard drive not starting due to the cable being too long and the subsequent voltage drop. I have not had one instance where the hard drive has not started since I purchased the USB hub from Monoprice......thanks, and my other USB devices are working a lot better as well.
Cons: none that I can see so far.
I would recommend this to anyone who uses various USB driven devices, and wants to get the excess cables out of their computer.

Pros: Works when connected to a computer, which is the purpose i suppose.
Cons: Cheap plastic build, but to be expected.

So far, mostly good
|
Pros: Works most of the time
Cons: Seems a bit suspect on the overall quality
I got this to use with a Mac Mini that's connected to three external hard drives, two external DVD burners, a keyboard and mouse. It looks OK, but feels pretty cheaply constructed. After five weeks of use, it has dropped the connection to each of the external DVD drives a few times and to the mouse twice. So far, a reboot is all that is needed to get things running again, but I have my doubts as to the long term viability of this setup. Unlike me, if you aren't trying to launch rocket ships at your house, this product will probably work for you.

HUB ME
|
Pros: -plenty of ports. -affordable. go to Best buy and check their price on the comparable. -enough juice to charge iphone and connect other devices -slick looking with nice lighting.
Cons: -the mini usb connection slips off with the slightest bump
I bought this originally to connect to my WD Media Player Live Plus, so that I can run multiple USB items to the only two provided USB ports on the WD. saddly this did not work and the WD would only recognize one of my External HD's.
That said I am now using it at my office and have my wireless keyboard and mouse receivers, my iphone charger, my Dymo label printer, my r/c helicopter charging and my Stamps.com scale connected to it and i have minimal issues.
And sometimes a person just needs a hub.

Great item!
|
Pros: Small Powered Affordable 7 ports!
Cons: none
Excellent product for my setup, I mounted the hub on the underside of my desk to prevent usb cable clutter on the topside. Having a powered unit does wonders for charging my devices!

Now we're talking!
|
Pros: Powered hub Sleek modern design Indicator lights for ports in use Fully USB2.0 compatible
Cons: LED lights are a bit too bright AC to DC adapter is very large and cumbersome "Top" mounted ports create instability Ports are not active until source is powered up
I needed a way to connect several USB devices to my PS3, saving me the trouble of swapping accessories as needed. This seven port hub was exactly what I needed. However, as mentioned above, the LED lights for power and connection indicators are a bit too bright and can be distracting. The ports on top of the hub are in an odd place and sometimes causes the unit to be unbalanced and unstable depending upon the stress caused by cables on these connections. I thought the self-powered hub would charge my PS3 headset, controllers and bluetooth device constantly. Regrettably, it does not. My PS3 must be powered-up for the hub's ports to become active. It's these small issues that keep me from rating this uint a perfect 10. I've never been letdown by Monoprice's high quality and low costs. Keep up the great work!

Great USB Hub for the Price!
|
Pros: Compact, utility, price.
Cons: (none to speak of)
I use my laptop for various computing needs, so I connect numerous USB peripherals to it. With only a few ports available I quickly ran out. I tried those little passive hubs that may give you 2 to 4 more ports, but they only created a real cable jungle on my desk - not to mention the extra power draw on the computer to drive all my peripherals. Then I discovered this 7-port USB 2.0 hub, including an AC adapter (its use is optional). It solved all my cabling and peripheral connections problems and provides external power when needed. It's compact, the price was unbelievable, and ultimately a great value.

Great, compact 7-Port powered USB 2.0 hub!
|
Pros: Fast transfer speeds!!!
Cons: None!
This is a great, compact 7-Port powered USB 2.0 hub! The speeds are as fast as plugging it directly into the USB port on your computer, but you now have 7 of them! I would highly recommend this unit, and will buy more if the need arises!
Thanks Monoprice!!! Keep up the good work!

Like having three hands
|
Pros: Able to keep devices plugged in instead of swapping out.
Cons: Not really a con but this item gets busy looking when all slots are used.
I have had no problems with my computer finding and utilizing all seven USB slots.

Nice design
|
Pros: Nice slimline design, LED's showing power on (red LED) and separate blue LED's for each USB plugged in to device.
Cons: Agree with another reviewer that it would have been nice to see the power and Computer-to-USB receptacles placed at the back of the unit, but overall this is a great product.
5 side USB ports and two "bonus ports" cleverly hidden under a cool smoked plastic top lid make this a very cool looking USB hub. I had another non-powered Monoprice hub but discovered I needed the extra juice to charge my iphone, ipad and other excessories.

Very useful device
|
Pros: Plenty of connections, very useful
Cons: The ports are in too many different directions, impeding placement choices near the PS3.
There are plenty of connections, & this device works very well with the Sony PS3, so it has turned out to be very useful when attaching multiple devices that need the extra power. Happy with the purchase.

Does what it says
|
Pros: Good price Good quality External power supply for USB powered devices LED's show when devices are connected and communicating properly.
Cons: Wish the power and host cables were on the back instead of the side
What's not to like? Monoprice produces good quality stuff at low prices, and this is no exception. I own two of these, one for my Xk3y on my xbox 360 and another for my main PC. Both work great.

|
Pros: Multiple ports Works fine with my iMac No issues with any thumb drives Lighted display of what's connected
Had a circular, passive 4-usb port earlier that wasn't quite handling it. Had a tendency to tip on its side, too. This unit is nice, compact and certainly user friendly. Nice step up for me and ample room for me to connect whatever.

Pros: Compact, low price, general good build, lots of ports, relatively small size
Cons: Slide out cover on top could be a little stronger
Old usb hub from another manufacturer broke, so I got this one.
The old one had compatibility problems with certain devices in that the plugs had to be taped a certain way for them to connect. This one has no such problems.
Compact, stylish, and does what I ask of it. Great product at an fantastic price!

Performs well
|
Pros: Highly-visible indicator lights, compact design, excellent value.
Cons: The mini-usb out port can become disconnected somewhat easily. Not an issue if you don't move the hub or remove attached cables frequently.
Works great. I had been getting power errors on my Belkin four-device, mini-hub. This unit has worked flawlessly with as many as six devices attached, thus far.

Bought 2 over 2 years ago!
|
Pros: Works as advertised
Cons: too lightweight, can be moved around a lot when plugging cables in. Also, plugging a cable in one end may break connection for a moment on another line, really bad if the connection is to a mac hard drive. Also, the cover that hides the top USB ports is almost impossible to slide.
This is a great powered hub for the price, but see cons above. Still, I am ordering more!

Seems to be working fine for me so far, no complaints! I like the different locations for USB slots. They could have put some keyholes on the bottom for screw mounting, but I guess you can use some velcro or double sided tape if you are interested in getting it off the desk.

Pros: Two USB ports, three AC outlets. Replaces two wall warts.
Cons: A bit bulky. Would be nicer if in a slightly smaller configuration
Replaces wall warts yet adds additional AC outlets. Eliminates need for long, corded power strips for small setups. Gave one as gift to student for use in dorm room for charging small USB electronics.

Works well
|
Pros: Works fine, no problems despite the low cost, I'm happy with my purchase.
Cons: No wall mounting attachment holes on the underside. I ended up duct taping it to a wall.
There's not much to review here. It's a 7 port USB 2.0 hub, and it works fine. It came with a power adapter so that the USB ports are powered by the hub, and it was very reasonably priced yet has operated flawlessly. Overall I'm very happy with Monoprice and will order stuff from them again.

Great hub - plugs right in and goes
|
Pros: plugs right in and goes works with various types of USB devices works seamlessly with MagicJack devices
Cons: two of the ports are behind a sliding door and those USB adapters stick up straight. Not a big issue, but can be depending on where you are placing this on your desk
Great product! I've been using it for a few months now and truly love it. No issues with any of the hard drives, USB memory sticks, MagicJack, keyboards, or mice I have used with it.

not sure if its this thing but...
|
Pros: - lots of ports - ac power
Cons: - ports on two side and top, making it a bit messy - cheap build quality
i have two of these, the first one i bought about a year ago, its great, and doesnt give me any problems, it hide inside a case so the messy cables arent seen. The second on I bought about a moth ago for my HTPC, all seemed fine until my mac mini started crashing. went trough a bunch of trouble shooting steps and found that the computer isnt crashing as much without it connected. Not sure if it was just the hub or if im having power issues....aside from that. I like this hub, even though its a little flimsy. Best of all, you cant beat the price!

Great Hub No Issues
|
Pros: Great Price, Small Size, Powered :-)
Cons: Uses a Mini USB plug would have prefered a A to B plug which is larger and less likely to become unplugged

for home use only
|
Pros: I would say this could work well for home but don't trust it for a business or anything 'mission critical'. If you put this in place and don't touch it - it works.
Cons: The mini-usb cable is very loose. This is the cable that connects the hub to your computer. We tried a bunch of these in a work environment so people could move their peripherals from a desktop PC to a laptop by simply plugging in the USB cable from the hub to an extention cord (connected to desktop) or directly to their laptop. The mini-usb connector on the hub side always came out or had bad connections. We hot glue gun'd this connector to the hub, but then that didn't hold for very long since the device is shiny and slick. Perhaps if we roughed it up with sandpaper, the glue would of held. Too much work for a hub
Get this for your home environment where you don't touch the thing much. The mini-usb connector that connects the hub to your computer is not very good at all. I do not reccomend this hub. I reccomend hubs with a USB-A to USB-B full size cable. These mini-usb connectors are just too loose. Either they fall out or not all of the pins make a connection.

by kjstech Although this product may not be the best choice for a business solution where multiple users are constantly getting their hands on this due to loose cables... Monoprice is doing the right thing and allowing us to return it.
It's great customer service from Monoprice like this that will keep me coming back for future purchases.
This device technically works... but maybe it's better suited for a home situation where it is not touched by multiple people or used as hard as in a business.

Pros: I like the lights that indicate the port is working so when I plug in a flash drive I know that it is functioning correctly.
Cons: None.
My wife is the USB queen. She was always running out of ports. I bought this hub for her and it works just great. No more crawling under the computer desk to unplug and plug. I would recommend this product to anyone. I also like the lights that indicate the port is working. Sometimes when I plug in a flash drive it may not seat properly. The light lets me know that it is functioning correctly.

Pros: I've tried many hubs, cheap and expensive, and they have one major problem - they didn't work properly. This one DOES work. Every device I've plugged into it connected and worked just like plugging into a built-in USB connection. No dropped devices any more!

Good Solution
|
Pros: Lots of ports and the unit looks great. I like having the top two ports for quick hot plug and play.
Cons: The cable that came with it is too short. Also a bit loose. Also depending on where you have it the lights can be a bit bright.
I needed a new unit for my flight simulator setup that had enough ports for all of my flight gear. This unit was a great inexpensive option for me. I have it set in the middle of my flight desk and all the gear plugs in without any issues. Power is good on all ports and there is no real heat generation. I had to buy a longer usb to mini usb cable but that was not an issue. I do fly at night and the lights can be a bit bright on the ceiling. I would have rather the unit have dim leds. Lastly the mini usb connection to the unit is a bit on the loose side but it may just be the cable I bought. All in all it is a good purchase, and I would buy it again if the need comes up.

Excellent, reliable hub
|
Pros: Reliable - devices don't drop off as sometimes happen with cheaper hubs Powered hub runs my scanner, and can use to charge my phone even without computer connected
Cons: Included Mini-USB cable went bad, losing connection with the hub on the mini-B end. Replaced the Mini cable myself (wasn't worth a warranty return, as inexpensive as Monoprice's cables are!)
I've frequently had issues with other hubs (even powered ones) losing track of devices, particularly after disconnecting the computer. (I'd have to pull the power and USB from the hub to reset it to get everything working again.)
No such issues with this Monoprice hub. It's well-constructed, inside and out!

So far it just works
|
Pros: Needed lots of reliable ports to expand from just the two provided ports on my MacBook Pro 2011. Running two USB video adapters off of this thing, along with fingerprint sensor, mouse, USB KVM, and uplink to the hub on one of my monitors. So far, no issues at all.
Cons: Haven't yet found any hub to provide lots of reliable ports in an elegant, compact package, and like most USB hubs this one is kind of sprawling when fully populated. But it's doing its job admirably.
If you need a cheap, reliable USB hub this fits the bill.

Works great! I didn't give it a 10 because the cover of the power adapter popped out when I tried to disconnect it from the outlet. I taped it and everything was good.

Excellent Solution
|
Pros: -Works quickly with many windows systems -When used in tandem with a serial to usb converter, it gives the ability for serial over ethernet -Allows for multiple usb devices -Price is alot cheaper than digi devices
Cons: -Does not work with linux -Not adaptable with POE to not need ac adapter -Cannot connect directly to VMWare host
I gave this device a 9, not for the working of the device, but for the inability to work with linux. This devices allows you to surpass the previous distance limitations of usb devices. It also works well with VMWare as they are available on the network and the devices are not attached directly to the machine. The user interfaces are easy to figure out and are user friendly. You can even configure a software program to open when a device is connected. This can also be pointed towards specific files.
Another great feature of this device is the ability to connect usb converters, ex. serial. This allows you to create a network adapter for many different interfaces.

Only 1 issue
|
Pros: Lots of ports, included ac adapter, well spaced ports even on top
Cons: Usb port to connect to computer does not hold well, often falls out
I really love this hub, it can provide power to everything I have (external HDD, power hungry toshiba flash drive, USB fan, keyboard and mouse) The only issue I have with it is the USB port that connects to the computer, is uses a mini-b connector but does not hold in well and can come out when switching peripherals near the connector. Other than that it works very well.
