Purchase order review
Pros: Not sure how to make a buying experience better considering the interests of buyer and seller. From buyers point of view I would like a simpler selection process with technical differences in offerings expressed clearly and easily understood. The seller wants to sell and offer more but often the differences in products are minimal.

Great Cable!
Pros: Excellent quality

Cons: the cable is very stiff and is tough to bend

Excellent construction quality. The cable that this one replaced was over $200.00 and had sparkles when I ran 1080p thru it. The monoprice cable eliminated the sparkles and performed perfectly with a much lower cost.

Fantastic quality and price!
Pros: Great quality and even greater price!

Cons: NONE

I needed a cable to connect my HDMI switch to a ceiling mounted projector. Best Buy wanted $189 for a 25-foot HDMI cable and I got a 35-foot HDMI cable from monochrome.com for a little over $50 - and it is 22 AWG! Wow! Wonderful HD picture from both cable TV and XBox - my two sons couldn't be happier!

Can't beat this cable
Pros: Just works. Plug and play. High quality construction.

Replaced higher priced cable that did not work with this cable. Better construction.

Good cable, bad plugs
Pros: Great for long runs, good signal.

Cons: Hard to bend, hard to pull through because of the thickness, plug end breaks easily.

Completely agree with the review on 8/9/2010 8:13:56 PM. Great cable, heavy duty, hard to bend. Similar to other I had the end break Monoprice was great and refunded me for the cable. Luckily I ran 2 cables but now I have a dead one in the wall. Ends are very fragile. Monoprice was absolutely great about the the refund. I actually didn't even request it because I thought they would want the cable back and after pulling through the wall I didn't want to do that. They contacted me based on the review and initiated a refund. Wonderful company.

HDMI Cable
Pros: Cheap compared to other products in the same category.

Cons: Thick as a brick- does not bend well.

It appears to be working fine- ran it from one side of the room to the other under the house (30 feet roughly) and it works like a champ. Signal is good with the only problem being from a bad blue ray disk. Had some issues with bending it when I was running it to my projection unit but that actually worked to my advantage because it makes it more sturdy. It's not going to move much now-great buy and product.

Great product and price!!
Pros: Price, quality, and quick shipping.

Cons: None

Please don't waste your money on name brand cables. These will work just as good for a fraction of the price.

It Works!
I was very impressed that the 35ft HDMI cord working without any glitches. I ran it from my computer in the office, through the wall to our main TV in our family room. We are watching bluray discs in the family room via my computer. This cord works a ton better than the 15ft cord we were using from our laptops previously. I was definitely skeptical whether a 35ft cord would have more signal loss or not - definitely did not! works great!

Pros: Excellent picture. Inexpensive cable but great qualty.

Cons: Heavy and thick. Get port saver for each end.

Sturdy. Excellent quality. Even though it is stated as "standard speed" you can't tell difference. Perfectly clear! Can't beat the price either. 1/5th the price of Best Buy. Thanks Monoprice.

Works great for HD
Pros: Low cost, good signal transmission.

Cons: None.

I bought this to send video signals from my amplifier to my projector, located in the back of the room. I have 2 disc players connected to my amplifier: an HD-DVD player (yes, I guessed wrong and bought one of those) and a Blu Ray player (which I bought when that standard won out). My amp does HDMI switching, so I only need to push one button to switch sources. I have two outputs hooked up: an HDTV and my Epson projector. The amp also automatically switches the output.

I was previously using a 50 ft cable from another vendor, and I was getting a lot of problems:
1) sparkles in some source material, primarily standard resolution DVDs
2) inability to view some DVDs
3) problems with the amplifier switching back and fourth between outputs.

I use this 35 foot cable joined to another 10 ft cable, also from MonoPrice. The two are connected using one of the Equalizer couplers sold on this site. This combination gives me a total of 45 feet and I have no issues at all. The signal is clear, clean, bright and all of the issues I listed above are resolved.

Even though this cable is rated as Standard Speed, it works great for 1080P.

heavy duty but oddly also very fragile
Pros: 36' run into the wall and across the ceiling from my Yamaha AV receiver to an Epson projector. I added Monoprice's own ferrites sized to this cable. No sparkles, glitches, or weirdness at all.

Cons: The metal connector body is not very well secured into the moulded cable end. It doesn't take too much shear force to tear it clear off of the cable, especially when you consider how heavy this cable is.

Once torn out, the cable is trashed there is no way to push it back in without folding the fragile metal contacts. The metal connector either needs to be deeper or it needs to have a more substantial flange so that it stays inside the moulded plastic.

This cable does not include ferrites. These are available inexpensively at Monoprice separately, but I think a pair should be included with a cable as long and expensive as this one since they're pretty necessary at this length.

This is a very heavy-duty cable, and heavy is the operative word. It bends reasonably well down to about 8-10 inch radius but any tighter than that takes an uncomfortable amount of force this can affect the layout of an equipment rack. It cannot support its own weight you really need to rigidly support it within a foot or so of the equipment, or else... it breaks. Yep, I broke the first one I had.

Following Monoprice's recommendation, I tested everything before pulling this cable through the wall and ceiling. I tried it direct from a Yamaha AV receiver to an Epson projector and it worked perfectly. Then I tried it from a Monoprice 1x2 splitter and that also worked perfectly. At 35' it passed SD as well as 1080i/60 and 1080p/24 without any issues (I don't have anything that produces 1080p/60 so I couldn't test that.) There were no speckles, sparkles, or HDCP glitches at all. Just perfect video.

Pulling the cable was a bit difficult because of the weight and the diameter of the cable, but once the cable was through the holes in the plate at the top of the wall, the ceiling run was easy. The cable survived the pull without damage and then I secured the ferrites I purchased separately to both ends. I finished the rest of the install, closed up the holes in the wall and ceiling, spackled, painted, and then worked to tidy the equipment rack. And then in the process of securing the 1x2 splitter, disaster struck. I moved the splitter about three inches, and the connector moved with it... but not the cable.

I found myself staring at the nineteen little golden connector fingers splayed out from the moulded end, and found the connector body stuck in the splitter. I fished it out with tweezers. It wasn't hard to get all nineteen fingers back into the connector body, but the removal and insertion forced them to be somewhat straight, and they really need a complex bend pattern in order to make contact correctly. I was never able to recover the damaged end.

To make this cable better, the metal connector body either needs to be deeper into the moulding or it needs to have a more substantial flange so that it stays inside the moulded plastic. As it ships, it is very, very fragile.

Since you're reading this review, you can take advantage of my learning experience and make sure the cable is firmly supported so that its weight is not on the connector. Monoprice also sells tiny (8") HDMI port-savers that have a male on one end and a female on the other... in hindsight, it would have been an excellent idea to install one on each end.

Since I didn't want to go through the whole exercise of ripping open the wall and ceiling again, I tried to repair the cable a couple of times. I found a solderable HDMI connector, but it seemed to be sized for 28ga or 30ga wire and could not accomodate the monster 22ga in this cable.

How I finally fixed it was getting another (shorter) cable from Monoprice and then making an inline splice. The respective cables surprisingly used different color codes, but I was able to figure that out with an ohmmeter to match them up. Fortunately, HDMI is not as complex as some computer cables and it is a simple matter of pin1 to pin1, pin2 to pin2, etc.

It stands as a testament to the quality of this cable (and the digital nature of the signal) that even after butchering it and splicing in a new one-foot end, it still works flawlessly, even though it is one foot longer than when it was shipped. If it works this well after all that abuse, you can be sure that it will work even better for you if you take care of it. If Monoprice can get their vendor to improve the robustness of the ends, it would be a 10/10.

35 ft HDMI
I heard about Monoprice from Cnet reviews. Before deciding which cable to buy I talked to the Monoprice tech support via the online chat - I was extremely surprised. I had technical questions about the length because of running 1080p over a long cable. Tech support quickly sent me solid technical information via the chat window - some tech docs that had a synopsis of the issue at hand. I would highly recommend there cables and the customer support, it's not often you get both these days. Thank you, Monoprice for helping me to not waste my money at the competitors!

Great...Then not great...
Product worked great when i used it outside the wall, then when i ran it through my walls and attic (in texas heat) and finally had it all hooked up, the gold head broke off one end.... very frustrating. But kudos to monoprice, they are replacing the product for free. Cable - 5, Monoprice - 10. Averages out to a 7. Hopefully the replacement will work just as well and not break...

HDMI Cable for Longer Runs
Replaced a 15 meter Accell HDMI UltraRun cable with the MonoPrice. The Accell cable would not pass the 1080P signal from my new Blu-ray player which replaced an upconverting DVD player. The Accell has a built in signal booster which, when engaged, still did not provide a picture - either would not sync or would for a short period and then drop out. The Accell cable would still pass the signal from the HD cable box but not from the Blu-ray - both fed thru my pre/pro. The MonoPrice cable works fine - picture from the projector is excellent with no noise or dropouts. The only down side is the MonoPrice cable diameter is larger than other cables due to the 22AWG conductors - you may have to be more careful with your cable runs. For longer HDMI cable runs, the quality of the cable definitely makes a difference.

I used the HDMI cable to hook up my HDTV box to HD projector. The picture quality is amaxzing. THe price paid as compared to monster cable is quite less, however, the picture quality is at par.
