Hook HDMI devices to DVI inputs!

Pros: Great price, convert with one easy cable.
Cons: None.
I needed a way to hook up my cable box and BluRay player to my older Samsung DLP with only a DVI input. This cable (along with a HDMI switch) made it easy.

Pros: Great service. I ordered the wrong product and shipping back was easy. I used the online chat window service to figure out what needed to be done. The cables I ended up getting after it was said and done were delivered promptly and they work fine. And of course, they're a fraction of the price that retail stores sell equivalent products for.

I have used Monoprice in the past for all my a/v cable needs and they never disappoint. You cannot beat their selection, pricing and most importantly customer service. I've had one order get lost during shipping (not their fault, I blame the post office) and they sent me a replacement without any issue whatsoever. Monoprice is the first (and last) place I ever need to shop for my home theater connection needs.

Awesome buy at just a few dollars. Used this cable to connect my old PowerPC Mac Mini with DVI to my 42" 720p plasma. Works great, and no need to calibrate or alter the settings. Also used this same cable to hook my PS3 (hdmi out) to my 20" HP monitor (DVI in), and output with no flickering or issues with refresh. Thanks monoprice!

|
Very pleased with my HDMI cable. You can't beat fantastic quality at an affordable price. I was looking at HDMI cable at the "Big-Box" stores and none of them had the length i needed and they were all quadruple the price! The shipping is insanely fast!

I am using this cable to connect my Macbook to my Insignia HDTV. The picture quality is excellent, and the cable worked right out of the box. I did have issues with the picture being too small for the screen, but it turned out all I needed to do was activate overscan on the TV and change output resolutions from the computer side. All in all, it's a high quality product for a very low price.

This cable works great to allow me to hook my Xbox360 up to my older monitor that has only VGA and DVI inputs. This is the only purpose I've had for it thus far, but I've gone through probably more than 50 disconnect/reconnect cycles on the HDMI end (though only a few on the DVI end), and it's never given me any trouble at all, works great. Using 1280x1024 mode, native for this monitor.

I recommend these guys without hesitation. Cables from retailers are a real racket. The sale price on the gadget itself is heavily promoted and they you get screwed on the cables. My experience with Monoprice is their products are extremely reasonably priced. And their delivery blew away my expectations. I live in Boston, shipped it by the cheapest method, and it still arrived within a couple days. I'll never go anywhere else!

Typical Monoprice Quality and Value
|
There's not much to say on the cable itself it appears to be very high quality and has ferrite cores to absorb interference. (though interference is highly unlikely to be an issue with a digital signal) The thumbscrews are a bit small, but they work fine. And of course, it's under $5.
An HDMI to DVI adapter plus HDMI cable is more flexible, but costs more to do. You may wish to go for that in some circumstances though. (such as when bringing equipment to somewhere and not sure whether you will use HDMI or DVI)
It should be noted that DVI lacks many video functualities that HDMI has, such as various color spaces and what not. Thus there may be problems with some equipment that does not handle DVI signals properly.
I'm currently using my DVI-HDMI cable for my Xbox 360. My laptop does not have an HDMI port so I use VGA to connect it to my LCD monitor (PID 85 will do the job well), while the DVI goes to the Xbox. Unfortunately, at 1680x1050 and above, the Xbox will flicker strangely at certain dark shades of relatively solid color. This issue is with the 360 and not the Monoprice cable nor the monitor. For sound, I'm using an old generic (and low quality) VGA cable whose connector has been cut up to make room for the HDMI.
Monoprice also carries VGA cables, PID 4010. (however, I cannot vouch for their quality so far, since one or two years ago they had ghosting issues but I heard they have been resolved all audio connections will work fine though) It is up to the individual to find a solution for the audio cable to fit, but it shouldn't be difficult to do so.
My friend uses the DVI-HDMI cable for laptop to LCD monitor connectivity. It works well on there too.
I have not tried using this cable for things like DVD/Blu-Ray players, but it's worth a shot since I don't have an HDTV yet. For Blu-Ray, the LCD must be HDCP compliant. DVD/Blu-Ray players usually have seperate analog audio ports, but I'm not absolutely sure if they are designed to output DVI (via their HDMI) plus analog audio at the same time.
I have not tried this cable (nor been able to) at resolutions above 1680x1050 but it appears that it should be able to easily handle 1920x1080 and higher resolutions. (Digital connections are not limited at 1080p, despite what people may not be sure of)

Works perfectly and as advertised. Hooked two different desktops up to my 1080p TV and both worked flawlessly. One has a older nVidia FX5500, and the other has a newer nVidia 9600GT, and had no problems with either one. I would definitely recommend this cable to anyone with a PC that only has DVI or VGA out and no HDMI, and wants to hook it up to their High Def LCD/plasma.
Only disappointment was that it was a single link DVI to HDMI, but not really a CON since I only need it to be 1080p, which single link DVI has no problem displaying.

|
I was happy with the HDMI-HDMI version so I purchased these for my PC monitors. The cable performs quite well and at 1/10 the price of the Monster Cable at Best Buy and Fry's Electronics it is a no brainer. I don't have the Monster Cable version of this cable like I do the HDMI-HDMI version but I am seeing a clear crisp screen and no tiling or noise even when playing COD online and F.E.A.R. 2 on a 22" and a 26" monitor.

I use this cable to connect my PS3 slim to an LCD monitor. It was much cheaper than the HDMI that Sony makes (as are most of the Monoprice products), and I didn't even have to buy a HDMI to DVI adapter. Obviously, it doesn't transmit sound (DVI doesn't handle that) and it was simple to use the supplied stereo cables and an adapter to run sound to my computer's speakers. I'd highly recommend it.

HDMI DVI Cable

I couldn't be more satisfied. I saved 30-40 dollars buy purchasing this here. Wal-Mart was the cheapest store I'd seen it at, and it was going for nearly 40 dollars there. The product shipped, I believe, three days earlier than they had guaranteed upon completing my order. I'm currently using the product and it works great. It's plenty long enough, and the picture quality is as good as I think it could be. I will definitely check this site before any place else next time I go to order and kind of electronics cables/hook-ups/etc.

High quality cable, great price.
|
The same type of cable at a big box store will cost you at least $40 and it probably wont have ferrite cores or be gold plated. Product was shipped quickly as well. Why spend a lot of dough on cables. I wish I knew about this site earlier, all my future audio/video cabling needs will be purchased from Monoprice.

Bought this almost a month ago to use for my PS3 and 22" PC Monitor.
the cable is in top shape and gives a Perfect high def image for games and movies. have had no problems, and will be sure to get any more cable products from momo in the future
awesome buy at an awesome price!

Connects PC to HDTV @ 1920x1080p, no problem.
|
I have this connecting my media PC with DVI-out to my home theater setup, at a resolution of 1920x1080p, with no problems. No artifacts, no dropouts, no errors. Another quality, reasonably priced product from Monoprice.

Work exactly as advertised
|
Not too much to say, the cable worked perfectly with my MacBook Pro. Connecting the laptop the the TV was straightforward. The laptop immediately recognized the second display as a 1080p TV and used it properly.

Impressive shipping/handling
|
Cable does exactly what I need it to do - convert DVI signal to HDMI. The quality is the same as HDMI to HDMI (the only thing is that DVI does not carry an audio signal). I was impressed with the plastic cable protectors that it was shipped in.

Does the job it's intended to do easily - connect a MacBook Pro to an HDTV. No fusses, just hand it off to the person who needs to connect, they plug it in, and it all works! Nice cable, and certainly a lot nicer than spending $40 for a cable from any other store!

HDMI to dvi 6' glod plated cable

It is the best price on the web and best service. Can't believe how they do it for this price. Similar in guage to Monster cables. I would buy all my cable needs in future only with this vendor. I myself wanted write a review comment on the web but then they followed up to see whether their service was satisfactory. They have the formula to grow-affordable prices and best customer centric service. Wish them the best of luck.

Perfect for viewing web videos on my TV
|
When I first asked friends how to view web pages from my computer to my 32" HD TV they made it sound really complicated. An adapter for VGA to HDMI, then HDMI to the TV. I panicked.
But this product is EXACTLY what I need to set up my 15" MacBook Pro to view on the TV. It plugs right into the HDMI slot on my TV. And then I use the Apple Display Preferences to set the resolution of the TV which appears as a second monitor. I suppose I could even sit in the living room and work off of the TV. But for now this is all I needed.

Perfect cable for under a tenth of the price at the Big Stores. As one reviewer pointed out, DVI may not (at least doesn't on a Comcast cable box) output audio, so pick up an optical (TosLink) cable while you are at it.

Needed something to plug my laptop with HDMI to an LCD with no HDMI. Worked great and I avoided the lower quality VGA connection. Picture is excellent!
