Sleek and well-built
|
When I bought this switch, I was just looking to get a switch with remote to make it easier to manage our connections to the PS3 and XBox 360 consoles. However, this little switch surprised me with its sleek look and it just feels so solid. We have it sitting on a shelf with an alarm clock on it - you can't even tell its there until you use the remote to turn it on and see all the lights come on.
Even from a distance, its easy to tell which input you're on - 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat.

Great product at a GREAT price

I was up and running in no time. Very small unit so it takes up very little space compared to other switchers and receivers. Picture and sound quality is great, no long lag time between inputs. Highly reccommended.

HDMI Switch
|
This HDMI Switch works exactly as described. Delivery was quick, and installation very simple. While the supplied remote works fine, the added benefit is my I added the switch to my Logitech 1000 remote so all my components switch with one button. The great price just sweetens the deal and I highly recommend this product as I have not experienced any problems.

This item was shipped promptly and arrived undamaged. It is a well built unit in a heavy metal case and runs completely cool (it is on 24/7). I have three HDMI sources connected and it performs beautifully. I have no complaints on this unit nor on Monoprice.

Nice Switch!
|
Appears to work as advertised, no noticable image degradation sharing a 22" monitor @ 1680x1050 between 2 PCs.
However, in my case I'm running a dual monitor setup with a single monitor DVI KVM switching the primary monitor and this MonoPrice 4x1 switcher controlling the secondary monitor this is where the fun begins... The display settings in each PC get confused when switching the secondary monitors independantly of the primary display, resulting in the secondary monitor no longer being recognised or the screen resolution of the primary display defaulting to the lowest setting. The only way to get the desired result is to cold boot only one of the PCs with the secondary monitor set for it via the 4x1 switch. But turn on the second PC and then switch secondary monitors and everything gets screwed up.
I can't really say these problems I'm experiencing are caused by a defective 4x1 switcher, rather, it's likely a problem with Windows XP and/or the graphic cards. Most likely this switcher works fine for it's intended purpose of sharing a single display between several single-head video display devices.
One other thing, although 24 gauge or thicker cables are strongly recommended by MonoPrice for this switch (see red print under product description or specs section), such thick cable makes it much more difficult to connect to the switcher and route cables between system components which can place a lot of stress on the fairly small and relatively fragile HDMI ports. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have tried the thinner/less expensive/more flexible 28 gauge cables especially considering my display resolution is lower than the 1920x1080 max spec this switch is rated for.

Great HDMI Switch for a low price
|
This was exactly what I was looking for.
My lcd tv only has 2 hdmi ports and I have 5 items that need a hdmi input.
Cable box - Directly to tv HDMI1 Mac Mini - Connected through Switch Blu ray player - connected through switch xbox 360 -connected through switch ps3 - connected through switch
It works really well and the box is smart enough to only switch to the ports that have something turned on. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and have had zero complaints.

How can you beat it?
|
It's a solid feeling unit out of the box with nice heft and decent feedback from the front panel switches. I plugged it in, took 5 minutes to update my Harmony remote for the new device and *bam* she's working perfectly. Can't comment on the included remote as I haven't and don't expect to use it. For the money - this this is a perfect value.

The Little Box That Could

Great Switch! Great Price!
|
I have to say that I'm definitely impressed with monoprice (again). This switch is perfect for my setup: a PS3, a HD DVD player, DVD Recorder, and DirectTv box. The remote that comes with the unit, is simple, but do you really need something complicated for such simple tasks?

I used this switch for over 5 months and haven't had a single issue until recently. I bought a PS3 and was not able to pass through 1080p to my TV. The image was vibrating on the screen. After some troubleshooting i confirmed it was the switch. Other than that one issue i was extremely happy with this and it definitely served its purpose.

Great Cables
|
I ordered the cables and the 4 way switch as well, both arrived in two days at no extra cost as i live in California. The cables and the switch both work great and as yet i have no negative comments what so ever for the product. Also, because the cables are white, they blend in with my living room better and aren't as present.

Gest the job done
|
I was looking for a cable to extend from my HDMI switch to my PS3 and this cable did the job very well. Probably a little overkill for what I needed, but I am not really complaining either. The cable itself is covered by a very sturdy mesh that provides good protection. Not sure why some people spend a lot of $$ on monster cables, and such, when something like this can do as good of a job. I can almost guarantee that the average user will not be able to see any difference between expensive cables and medium priced cables.

This unit works as advertised. Best of all, it has a profile for my Harmony remote already established so integration into my system was easy. This HDMI switch is a necessary stop-gap if your receiver/tuner does not have HDMI switching and your flat screen doesn not have enough HDMI inputs.

What else could one ask for? (...other than a better search engine in the MonoPrice website...)
The HDMI switch switch does exactly what it's supposed to... works great with all 4 devices I connected to it, one with a 15 ft. cable...
The remote has a nice range, though I am using and my URC Digital R50 (best $100 universal remote out there!!!) which has no trouble emulating the switch's original remote.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I actually had bought a switcher at one of the box stores and then I heard about this site and decided to check it out. I saved $75 returning the other switcher and this one works great! Picture quality is just as if you have a direct connection. Easy to set up and coupled with the hdmi cables I bought on this site, I saved $180 bucks! I put that money into a better blu ray player. I would highly recommend monoprice to anyone who will listen and I have! The switcher is another quality product. I went up to the 4x1 so I can hook up my xbox, cable, blu ray, and whatever else they'll come out with next. My receiver doesn't have hdmi capabilities, so I still have to run my sound cables, but I was already doing that so no big deal.

I had some issues with this switch at first, and I almost RMA'd it but I tracked the poor performance to a bad HDMI cable. Now I am using it in my bed room. Fast shipping to the east coast. I ordered on Sunday night and I had the product in my hand Friday when I got off of work. Thanks!

Another very satisfied customer here! Had this for almost a month now with no problems. Needed this device because my 5 year old RPTV only had one DVI input and no HDMIs. Works Great
|
I have this hooked up to a TivoHD, a Dell XPS laptop (for the occasional living room browsing), and a Pioneer DVD player. It worked great once I figured out that I had to have the input source turned on before I could power on the switch. One pleasant surprise was the small size of the switch it's about the size of a small book length-wise with a very short depth. As far as the service from MonoPrice is concerned, they have become my go-to company for all my cabling needs. Both the prices and quality of merchandise are amazing.

HDMI SWITCHER
|
Purchased first switch and didnt work, requested help and tech. stated to go with bigger cables, still no work. Returned and received credit, ordered new switch rev.3.0 and works perfect. Using Vizio, hdcable, xbox with hdmi cables. Tip-the switch did not work with xbox in the 1080p mode, adjusted to the 1080i and works great. Great turn around time, and fast delivery of new product. With new switch I rate this from a 1 to a 10+. Monoprice has great customer service

It works great. My Logitech universal remote can control it just fine, so now I just press "watch DVD" and it sets the switch to the right input while turning on the DVD and the TV. There is a slight delay when the input is switched as everything sync's up, but probably not more than 1-2 seconds.

Im so glad I found this switch. I currently have it hooked up from my PS3 and Comcast HD DVR to my Sony 58 rear projection HD TV. Both look like they are hooked up directly to the TV.
I initially went to Best Buy and asked someone there what options I had for hooking up multiple HDMI devices to my TV, and they showed me a $120 switch. Im really glad I found monoprice.com. I would recommend them, and this switch, to anyone.

I reveived my switch and associated cables for my DVD and Comcast receiver yesterday. The shipment was on time and in perfect shape when it arrived. It took me all of 30 minutes to setup things up and get them running. I am very impressed with the quality of the products and will buy from Monoprice in the future. As an aside. I checked into buying this stuff from local retailers and it would have cost me almost 100% more. Best bang for the buck, MONOPRIC.COM!!

Ive used the 5x1 box before but they didnt have those available. This one works great. The leds are really bright but a little electrical tape fixes that. As always pairs up with Harmony remotes.
ONLY downside is it uses another power box, why cant they put the transformer further down the wire and not right at the plug?

Great small switcher! Great for people with only 1 or 2 HDMI Ports

This switch was easy to setup is small in size and is made with quality workmanship. Im using this with cables #3993. This work great on my PS3, Home theater system, Direct TV HD system and my Vizio tv! (Vizio has an amazing tV that beats Sony in price and is better in quality than some sony models) Vizio and Monoprice have things in common (affordable and great quality).
Im going to buy more of these cable next week! Go ahead order these and other great items from monoprice they wont disappoint you!

Great HDMI Switch for the $$$!!!
|
Just got mine in the mail yesterday. Very quick on getting here too. Ordered on Wednesday, and it was here on Saturday.
Hooked it up yesterday, and was a little skeptical because I had problems with a Radio Shack version...(Green Screen when the cable box was connected via Comcast/Motorola HD/DVR Cable Box), which I took back. Paid $60.00 for that one too!
Hooked the Monoprice Switch up, and it worked like a charm first time! I think it even enhances the HD too. I now have another remote, but it is quite handy is switching devices from the couch, and more than enough HDMI inputs/outputs.
I highly recommend this product, especially if you have a Comcast HD/DVR box!

Excellent Product
|
Works perfectly, in fact much more reliable than a competitors product that I purchased prior to this. It also cost 70% less than the other HDMI switch cost, and it seems like a much better made product. I was surprised at the quality for the price.

Works great, Fast delivery, Low cost
|
No problems hooking a Cable Box (SA 4250HDC), DVD/VCR Combo (Samsung DVD-V9800), and a Playstation 3 to the HDX-401E (HDMI 1.3b certified switch) inputs and output to a 37 inch 720p LCD (Olevia 537) using 24AWG cables (from Monoprice of course). All the devices look good on the TV.
My wife swears the cable TV signal looks even better then when the cable box was hooked directly to the TV.
All cable lengths were 6 feet. Using a Harmony 550 remote to control it with no problems. Fast delivery, low cost, been using for two weeks without problems. What else could you ask for.

Excellent
|
Bought this to help alleviate the fact that my TV only has one HDMI input. Running a DirecTV box, an upscaling DVD player and a PS3 through it. All inputs play perfectly through the splitter with no clipping or noise.
The box itself blends into our black entertainment system without issue. Holding it in your hands, the box is sturdy and well made. The inputs do not feel flimsy and even the remote feels well made.
You absolutely can not beat the quality or the price.

You Cant Beat this Deal with a Stick!!!
|
You absolutely cannot beat the price of this switch!!! The audio and video quality is outstanding!!! Make sure and read the red type on the product page. This is key because you need a thicker gauge cable for the switch the work to its potential. When you hook it all up like they tell you to, you will have a heck of a setup. I have my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 hooked to it and it works flawlessly. I have a 2006 model Sanyo Vizon 26 inch LCD television with one hdmi input and it works beautifully!!! If you go to a local retailer and price a switch like this one, you will easily pay over $150.00. Way to go Monoprice!!!

This works great with everything I connected. I connected my PS3, Vudu, and Comcast Motorola HD DVR cable box. I have a Sony HD 1080P Overhead projector and have no problems. The remote works and no problems switching between devices. I am never disappointed when I order from Monoprice.

Marvelous product!
|
Heavy metal casing that is well built and well packaged.
I have this switching a Time Warner Scientific Atlanta 8300HD and a Sony 350 Blu Ray through with a Logitech RF/IR repeater remote.
The two input cables are 1 ft Monoprice 24 gauge with the output 24 gauge 25 ft going to a 720P LCD projector.
This little miracle actually solved an intermittant HDCP compliance issue that would crop up from time to time between the projector and the DVR.
Monoprice does it again!

Exactly what I needed and exceeded my expectations. working with a Denon 2807 receiver, Panasonic combo VHS/DVD upconvert, Atlanta Scientific HD Cable DVR, Toshiba HD DVD player, and soon to come blu ray player all to a single Hitachi 55 plasma .... everything works perfect just plug and play.
I was very pleasently surprised that this switch is included in the HarmonyOne device library, so a couple very simple mods to the harmony one and everything just works!
Perfect, and am buying anoother one for the projection theater in the basement so the kids can take advantage of the HD output of the Xbox 360, HD Cable to a Mitsubishi HD projector...will keep you posted!

Very Pleased
|
Im very pleased with my purchase. The price is great! I picked up this switch and some HDMI cables all for less than $60 shipped to my door ( hit on exchange between CAD and USD). Thats great considering a 10 ft cable would cost more than this if I went to a local store.
The Switch works fine with my Sony KP-51WS520, Xbox 360, and Motorola Cable box. I will also be hooking up a PS3 later this week. I dont notice any effect on picture quality, and it works with my Harmony remote.
I am thinking that I should have picked up some more HDMI cables because Im using all the new ones now and it works fine, but it seems that some people have had issues with older cables (which I will be using when I hook up the PS3).

Very Reliable
|
Ive been using this for about a year now to switch output between a Sony BDP-300 blu-ray player and an RCA DVD recorder/SD tuner to my Mitsubishi 1080p projector. It has been very reliable, but often it doesnt pick up the signal immediately after switching and I have to switch back and forth once and then it picks up the signal, but for all I know, they all have that quick. So I dont count this as a fault, because the switch is absolutely reliable and Ive had no problems with it. For the price I cant beat this.

Great Product
|
If you only have one in-wall HDMI cable going to your TV, then this is what you need to run all your components into. I was very impressed with this devices build quality (metal casing) and ease of use. The surround sound unit I was given as a gift doesnt have any HDMI inputs, and I was worried about having to run more cables through the wall later on to accommodate it and any other devices I might purchase in the future (blu-ray player, wii, etc.) This is the perfect solution. You can run up to 4 devices into it, and run the one output to your TV. You then just switch between inputs depending on which component youre using. And you get all this for about the same price as one HDMI cable. I highly recommend it!

Works great, as long as your cables are good
|
The switcher looks great and feels very solidly built. The only thing that I want to note is that right after hooking it up between my cable box and tv, I started getting an GS511_HDCP_DLG message, your tv does not allow display of this program through the DVI input source Please choose another TV input source. It turns out that one of my cables wasnt up to snuff, and even though it worked fine by itself before, it produced a glitchy signal when hooked up to the switcher. Replacing it with a newer HDMI cable fixed the problem.
The switcher works great and can be controlled easily with either the included remote or a Harmony remote.

For the user in Lake Forest, CA...
|
Im thinking about getting this, but for now will help out the previous poster having trouble. Have you tried having your HDMI out on the switch box go to one of your INs on the DENON receiver, while having the OUT on the receiver go to the tv? That seems like it would be the best way to fix it. If you still need help, leave me an email at winkyhead_69@yahoo.com. Though, if you do what I stated above, I think that should fix your issue.

HDMI Switch Works Perfectly!!!
|
I bought this switch because my 42 Philips LCD HDTV only had 2 HDMI ports. The switch works perfectly with my Directv HD receiver and Xbox 360. I tried to hook up my Sony BDP S350 Blu-Ray player to the switch but there was no picture. I had to hook the Blu-Ray player up directly to the TV and it worked fine. This is just a heads up for those that may be thinking of getting this switch to work with the Sony BDP S350 Blu-Ray player. Other than that small issue, which I fixed, this switch is awesome and works just as described! The remote works flawlessly and the switch between HDMI ports only takes a few seconds. This is a top of the line switch at a bargain price. Thank you Monoprice for offering quality electronics at wholesale prices.

Great Product

I just received this today - so I do not know about the length of service, but I connected it to my DirecTV HR20, PS3, Popcorn Hour A-110 and my HD-DVD player. All work and switch perfectly. I have a 35 foot run of HDMI cable that I also purchased from Monoprice that goes to my 1080p projector and everything worked perfectly right out of the box. Thanks again Monoprice for a great product.
One other note - this unit feels very solid and the remote worked great also. I highly recommend this unit.

Have had the REV 3.0 HDMI (1.3b) switcher for 2 days now. Worked great out of the box! Using it with a Sony PS3 (80gb) and Comcast Motorola HD DVR. So far no issues with HDCP handshake or ANY other glitches. I usually dont take the time to write online product reviews, but I wanted to let customers considering purchasing this unit that it works as advertised and is a great price relative to others I looked at on the market.

I normally dont take the time out to review good purchases but have been debating whether to buy this switch or the 8x the price Geffen for a while. I took the chance with this unit and must say I am very happy with it. I have a TivoHD, Xbox and BluRay Player connected to it. I had some difficulties getting the handshake on the BR Player but after swapping out the hdmi cable it linked with no problem.

Love Monoprice!
|
I actually had a dud port on my first HDMI switch (sparkles on only one port) and Monoprice customer service was FANTASTIC! The new switch was shipped right away and works very well with my system.
As to the switch I had one odd audio issue. I have a Samsung BDP 1400 and an Integra 5.8 reciever. When I had the Samsung do the decoding and send the audio out via PCM I lost some of the audio streams (center channel audio primarally). I tested a bit and it _looks_ like this is an issue with the Reciever, not the switch. I ended up setting the player to send out bitstream so the reciever did the decoding and all is well. Works great with my Logitech One remote as well.

I gotta say I was a bit on the fence when ordering this. I had purchased an item from best buy that said it would do the same thing for $100. It didnt work. So when I found this on the internet I was like for $40 its worth the try. Man was I amazed. It worked perfectly. No problems at all. On top of that it switched between my Xbox 360 and my PS3 with lighting speed. And the Terk that I purchased from best buy degraded the picture on my PS3 and had no picture or sound from my Xbox 360. My picture now looks just like I plugged it right into my TV set. This item is well worth it and did everything it said it would do.

Well, I installed my theatre at Christmas last year. My projector has only one hdmi port but I though I could unplug and plug between my cable box and dvd player. I bought a $200 20 cable (not Monster), but it wouldnt work with my Motorolla cable box, so I returned it.
So Ive been using S-Video since then, waiting to find a decent cable that works. Lo and behold, not only the cable but this switch. WOW! So easy. So cheap. So reliable. Monoprice is my saviour! And in plenty of time for football & hockey seasons!
If you have 2 or more devices connected via hdmi, BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Oh - and the shipping. I live in Nova Scotia, about as far away from California as you can get in North America. I ordered this on Friday and it was delivered to my door on Tuesday! For $25.00. Just, wow. Great.

Apple TV error with 4088 switch
|
The switch works great until you try to rent a movie from Apple TV. A message comes up to inform you This content requires HDCP for playback. HDCP isnt supported by your HDMI connection. Use component video conection to veiw content.
When I bypassed the switch and went directly from the HDMI on my Samsung DLP to the Apple TV HDMI port the error was gone indicating the monoprice switch is not HDCP compliant with Apple TV.

So far it works great, I have my PS3 and Xbox Hooked up to it. As long as it lasts, its a 10/10. It switches quick and no signal loss, Blurays look just as good as if they were directly plugged in to the tv. For the price, i am very happy, i also used some HDMI cables from here, they worked great as well.

Works like a charm!
|
I am using this device to hook up my Time Warner HD DVR, and PS3 up to my Sony 50 LCD set. Installation was a snap, including adding the device to my Harmony 880 remote. Switching is seamless now, and I can finally watch the PS3 in 1080i (my Sony TV does not do 1080p). The picture is perfect, and I noticed no difference in quality when comparing a signal directly into the HDMI of the Sony TV to the signal going through the HDMI switcher. I highly recommend this unit. Its affordable, and works perfect. Add a couple of low priced MonoPrice HDMI cables, and the whole setup was still only $60 including shipping. You wont find anything that even comes close in terms of value, and quality.
