Pros: Nice size, works as advertised.
Cons: None so far.
Works well, switches between BluRay player and Xbox360 as needed.

Works on TVs but not computer monitors
|
Pros: it physically works but not on my new monitor
Cons: I have to give it a 1 because it does not work with brand new computer monitor. If i use it with a TV it works fine, but if i use it with my 1080p 24" dell monitor it powers the monitor down. Further more, i chatted online with a tech and he helped me realize the unit works on a TV, but could not provide any trouble shooting help with my particular problem. I asked for specifics on the unit so i could call Dell and he said there is no additional information he can help me with. so I have a unit i cannot use, and he did not offer any assistance on one i could buy from them that would work.

Hi Michael,
My apologies for the product not working for on your specified monitor and not offering you any alternative solutions. Do you recall who spoke with by chance? If I may ask when connecting to your Dell monitor what were the sources you were using? Also what was the distance you were traveling from source to display? We do have a few other options to consider in the event switch continues not to work with the Dell. Below are a few links, one being for our 2x1 manual switch and the other for a powered unit that you should definitely not have any issues with.

I do not know who i spoke with, it was an online chat. I was using the two HDMI cables i purchased from you on the same order they are 2 feet in length each. So i connected the pigtail to the Dell monitor, then connected a 2ft HDMI cable to the apple tv, and a 2ft HDMI cable to my computer. Both HDMI cables work directly from the computer or apple tv to the Dell monitor, but neither sources display when going through the pigtail. The pigtale does work on a samsung 55inch tv. However i did not buy it for my tv, i bought it for my office monitor. The Dell monitor is 24inch 1080p model S2740L. I am talking to Dell at the moment to try to see if there is something they can help me with. Ultimately i would like to get a pigtail that works with this monitor, if you have one i would love to swap it for one that is compatible.

Hi,
Thank you for the information. Have you tried adjusting your resolution or refresh rate on the computer to see if that makes a difference? For the Apple TV if you hold the Menu and Up button for six seconds. The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals. Pressing the Select button will immediately cycle to the next resolution.
This would be the only style pigtail we carry other than the 3x1 which is the other than having an extra input. The other units I mentioned would also be alternatives although not a pigtail solution. If the unit is still giving you trouble I perhaps try another source like a DVD player to see if you get different results. If not I can issue an RMA for a return, I would just need an order number to get things started. Again my apologies for the trouble.

Nice switch and price.
|
Pros: It works with two hdmi devices plugged in.
Cons: I have to switch manually.
Great switch, both of my analog component inputs stopped working on my Samsung DLP. I thought my blu ray player was bad. Not so, just the inputs.

Short lifespan
|
Pros: Worked great out of the box. Easy to hook up and use.
Cons: stopped working after a few uses.
I bought this on 4/13/12 since my tv only has one HDMI input. I wanted to keep my BluRay connected and tired of disconnecting it to hook up my iPad. This did solve the problem initially. But after only using a handful of times it failed. The switch light still works but neither the DVD or the iPad's signal transmits through the switch device. When I remove the switch and connect each component separately they both work fine.
Unfortunately it has been almost a year so I don't think I qualify for a replacement or warranty.
Just know quality may be questionable.

Quick & accurate
|
Pros: Works just as advertised. Switches transparently between active devices.
Cons: None found.
I happened upon Monoprice while searching for a switch to allow two devices to serve one HDTV. The price was good and reviews indicated quality, so I ordered from Monoprice. My order was processed with no delay and received within the stated ship time.
I am entirely satisfied with the product and service. Recommend highly.

Pros: non powered
auto switch
manual button
sturdy construction
Cons: bright red LED
not sturdy enough for me
Great product. I love that it can auto switch without being powered. It has a button but I never use it because it switches back after one source is turned off.
This probably could happen to anyone with a movable wall mount but after about a year of usage the plug broke from being pulled sideways too hard. I guess I need to get a port saver next time. I plan on ordering another one as soon as I get the funds.

Did not work

Pros: Did seem to sense which source was on and switch to it.
Cons: Did not pass any signal to the TV, even with only one plugged in.
Unfortunately, it didn't work for my application. I have a HD satellite box and an AppleTV. Even with only one source plugged in, the switch would not pass any signal to the TV. I will be returning and trying a powered switch.

Pros: Couldn't be simpler...does all I had wanted. Would like to see this item in ultra slim cabling and also the m/f HDMI extension cable's in the ultra slim style as well.
Cons: NONE!!!
This is a great switch...just wish it were available in "ultra slim" cable. The "fat" cable and "fat" extension cable are awkward to work with,although they do a great job.

Needed a pigtail for my 27" Asus Monitor and got 2 HDMI cords as well from Monoprice. This product works as advertised. Plugged it into the back of the monitor and change the output and it shown both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The button to switch is kinda small but it works. Thanks Monoprice! :D

Pros: Works great.
Cons: I got to use with AppleTV but since it does not power off, I still have to manually switch. Still better than separate cables.

Pros: Well werth the price if you are short on HDMI ports. This switch sences which device is bing used and switches according. No fliping swtichs manualy fumbling with a remote.
Cons: Just make sure you turn on your TV first. I have noticed that if u turn on the device the display works fine but no sound. If the TV is on first it works great

It didn't work for me

Cons: Did not switch consistently
Probably won't work with HDMI devices that always output a signal
I thought I'd save a little cash and get this budget switch since I only have two devices, a Roku and a Panasonic Blu-ray player. Unfortunately both devices seem to always have some sort of signal coming out of them so this switch was a bad choice since it switches based on what's on and what's off. But when I physically cut power to the Roku or the Blu-ray it still did not consistently switch. I even tried the manual switch button with little-to-no effect. I ended up buying a proper 4-way switch with a remote and couldn't be happier. Normally I hoard old, unused tech gadgets but this one was so unreliable, I chucked it in the trash. Your mileage may vary.

Works great, red LED is very bright
|
Pros: automatically switches between my Home Theater PC and the Verizon Box when I boot up the HTPC. Then switched back to the Verizon Box when I shutdown the HTPC.
Cons: The LED is very bright, lights up the wall behind the TV. I fixed this with a piece of electrical tape over the LED.

Pros: Small, auto switching.
I bought this to connected my Xbox and PS3 into the same HDMI port on my TV as I only have two and the other one is already used. When it arrived I thought it was a manual switch and I was a little disappointed. When I connected both units and turned them each on I found that the switch infact auto switches. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a HDMI auto switch. I haven't had any issues with this unit yet.

|
Pros: I have it hooked up to my PS3 and HTPC. It automatically detects the signal and switches to the source. Great solution.

Pros: Works exactly as described and switches automatically between sources. Heavy duty cabling and switch just like other Monoprice products!
Cons: Minor static screen on occasion while switching.
I used this switch on my older Sony HD set which only has one HDMI input and version 1.2. Switching between my Sony Blu-ray player and my iMac works flawlessly.

Two Laptops and one HD Monitor

Pros: Great. See review
Cons: None
Device works much better than expected. If you have one computer on and then switch to another, the switch senses the change and automatically picks up the new computer. No need to select a monitor. I do not see any deteroiation in video or audio schedule

Pigtail Review.
|
Pros: It works.
Cons: Might not fair with huge power hungry HDMI devices. LED light is always on. So something in my circuit/devices is eating up power, even though they are turned "off".
Plugged both a blu-ray player and Motorola Atrix dock display HDMIs to to switcher. Works flawlessly. Worried about LED burning out sometime. It's always on even though devices are powered off.

Pros: Saves one cable!
Cons: Can prevent your TV to use the right input if the component is not powered on quickly enough for the switch to switch (especially with Harmony remotes)
