Mini DisplayPort 1.1 to HDMI® Adapter with Audio Support, Black

Connect your mini DisplayPort equipped MacBook®, laptop, or PC to an HDMI® display using this Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter from Monoprice.

This is a passive adapter, which requires no additional power. It converts the mini DisplayPort signal to an HDMI audio/video signal. The adapter supports resolutions up to 1920x1080p and up to 36-bit Deep Color (12-bits per channel). Note that this is not bidirectional and therefore will NOT convert HDMI video to mini DisplayPort.

Note: This is a passive adapter and is therefore NOT suitable for AMD® Eyefinity installations. An active adapter, such as PID 5135, is required for Eyefinity setups.

Works well with the Surface

Pros: Inexpensive and works like it's supposed to

Cons: I can't think of any

I was looking for an adapter to run dual monitors off of a Surface. Microsoft was selling their adapter for around $40. I came to Monoprice and found an alternative for around $8 and figured I would give it a shot. It works perfect. I connected the adapter to the surface and plugged in the HDMI chord from the monitor and we were all set.
