Z-Wave Garage Door Sensor- NO LOGO

Monitor the status of your garage door using this Z-Wave® Garage Door Sensor from Monoprice!

Z-Wave is an interoperable, two-way RF mesh networking technology used for home automation and security. Battery-powered Z-Wave devices, such as this sensor, "wake up" when triggered and broadcast a Z-Wave alarm signal, which can in turn be used to activate other devices or perform preprogrammed tasks. Any Z-Wave enabled device displaying the Z-Wave logo can be used with Z-Wave devices from other manufacturers.

This sensor is designed to detect angular changes, such as would occur when a garage door is opened. When triggered, the sensor sends a wireless Z-Wave alarm signal, which can be used as a simple alarm or as a trigger to activate or perform other functions, such as turning on a light. It also has a tamperproof switch, which causes a different alarm signal to be sent when triggered.

    Zwave Garage Door Tilt Sensor
    5/5

PROS: Purchased three of the tilt sensors for my garage. I use a Vera lite zwave system and I configured it under other zwave devices since vera doesn't have a tilt sensor included. This was recognized as a vision product after inclusion. Works great however on letting me know when the garage is activated but you cantbtell if its up or down. Trying to figure out how to make the device reset after it is triggered so I can tell if the door is open or closed. Other than that it was a good buy at the onsale price with coupon.

    Works well
Simply to set up and install. The only problem is that my Z-wave controller keeps alerting me that the sensor dead because it only wakes when triggered, but that's a problem with the controller in my opinion.

    PROS: Works as advertised.

    Exellent Product
Purchased two of these, one for me and one for a friend. They connected with our SmartThings hub with no problem and work very well as one would hope and expect. We use Smartthings and these to alert us when the garage door has opened and also when it has closed.

PROS: Works well with Samung Smartthings
    Reasonable price
    Easy to install

    CONS: None

Works Extremely Well with SmartThings Hub
At $20 on sale this device is a steel! I bought it for my Smart Things Hub (the newer Hub version that came out late 2015). I installed the battery while about 3 ft from my Hub. On the App I said locate device automatically but it didn't see it. I then went into the specific menu to add a specific device under garage door openers (I think) and it found it right away. it sync'd. i then used the 2 sided tape to mount it to the inside of the garage door. Overall installation time less 10 minutes. Now I can easily know if the garage door is open or closed. I plan to set some actions as well. Highly recommend this device for your smart home!

    PROS: Low price, $20
    Compatibility with Smart Things
    Easy installation
Tested it and it works as expected

    CONS: None

    Great Value
I bought this product over more expensive Z-wave garage door sensors at other sites. This was by far the least expensive and performs as expected. This kind of price makes me wish I was Jay Leno with a 20 car garage!

    PROS: Great price!

CONS: Would prefer better mounting instruction ....but I went tubing for that :)

    Garage Door Sensor
I use Homeseer HT Zee, and set up an event to send a push notification to my phone any time the sensor changes state so i know if my door is closed or opened at any time. Haven't had any false alerts or trouble whatsoever

PROS: It works and it is cheap - Monoprice is always a good bet

    CONS: None

    5/5
I gave this 9 stars vs 10 only because at first I could not get the device to indicate a an open/closed status with my Aeon Zwave Stick and Openhab. I was almost about to return it till learning to need to add the device as a member of Controller and setting zwave:masterController = true in the openhab.cfg file.

Now it works great and I add a rules to trigger lights etc when the door open or closes.

    PROS: Works as advertised

CONS: Little tricky to get correct status
