    Papago GoSafe 118 Dashcam

    HD 720p 30fps

GoSafe 118 uses the NTK96632 chip, which allows it to capture video in HD 1280x720p at 30fps. The pristine recorded video will be strong proof if an accident occurs.

    125® View Angle Lens

Vehicles on each side can be clearly recorded with the 125° wide angle lens on the GoSafe 118.

    Compact and Discreet

The micro-sized design allows the GoSafe 118 to be completely installed and hidden behind the rearview mirror.

    Auto On

The GoSafe 118 will automatically turn on when the engine is started.

    Keep Recording; Miss Nothing

With the GoSafe 118, the driver will not miss out on anything that may happen on the trip. With the technology embedded in this Dashcam, it's capable of automatically looping over footage once the SD memory card is full.

    Motion Detector (Power is required)

The GoSafe 118 is equipped with motion detection. If you choose to use this feature, it will record footage while you are away from your vehicle whenever any sort of motion occurs in front of the Dashcam.

    Wide Dynamic Range

The wide range in EV values self-adjust for optimal video recording in differently lighting conditions.

    2" LCD Screen

Allows for instant playback of recorded footage.

    Backup the Accident Automatically

The built-in Gravity Sensor (G-sensor) automatically backs up any recorded footage once a sudden impact is detected. There is no need to worry about losing important footage when you're in an accident. All files recorded in this mode will be write-protected.

    USB 2.0

It's easy to back-up the recorded footage onto your computer via the USB interface.

Worth the price, but some issues

    Pros: Price
    Stopped Clarity of Picture
    Size of camera is small

Cons: Clarity in motion is not clear enough to see license
    Sound is recorded light

The item is pretty good for the price ($50), however like the other reviews, when in motion, it is hard to read license plates. When stopped, it is a perfectly clear picture. Pretty small so does not interfere with vision when you are driving. Sound is very light so it sounds quiet unless a rather large sound occurs (i.e. scream in the cab will register)

    Decent low-end dashcam

Pros: Good video quality for the price. Small and fairly unobtrusive if you stick it behind the rear view mirror. Long USB cable gives you plenty of room to run the cable around the side of the windshield.

Cons: Resolution is too low for any type of small detail (license plate numbers, address markers on the side of the road, etc.). MicroSD hard to remove without unplugging the USB. Power cord has an awkwardly-placed brick that you'll have to find a spot for (on mine, I'm going to have to find a way to stick it to the A pillar, which is pretty conspicuous). Mount comes with one adhesive pad, so it's one-and-done. If you don't like your initial placement, you're on your own for figuring out how to stick it someplace else.

We got this as our first dashcam on sale to see how much we really liked the concept. We're pretty happy with it. It's fairly discreet, the adhesive mount feels quite secure. Video quality is pretty good in a variety of conditions. Since the price of this one went back up, we ended up spending a little more and getting a 1080p model (GoSafe 200). The resolution definitely makes a difference in the detail, but if you mostly just want to be able to record what's going on in front of you, this one does the trick.

Spring for a small circular polarizing filter to reduce reflections of the dashboard in sunny conditions. We picked up a 24mm, and it barely fits, so don't go any smaller than that. There's no mount for it on the camera, so you'll have to rig it.

    Pros: Easy to install

    Cons: None yet

Camera takes clear pictures (once you take off the clear film on the actual camera lens). Easy to use and configure. I have it set to motion and its always powered up so we'll see how long it lasts......

    Great camera for the price

Pros: Very small and unobtrusive easy to install
Retrieving and viewing files via USB cable direct from the camera is super easy
720p resolution good enough for the purpose
Easy to detach camera for downloading files
Small LCD great to ensure correct aim and capture

Cons: Instructions mentioned ability to do 1080p, but camera does not have the option (rechecked description and it is only a 720p camera)
    Audio quality could be better
Instructions don't mention leaving enough room for power connection between camera and mirror mount, which required me to remove and reattach mount to windshield.

I've been considering purchasing a dash cam after receiving a traffic ticket for something I did not do cop's word always wins out in court. I didn't want to spend too much and when this one went on sale, I took a chance. Having a camera definitely provides peace of mind and this one is very easy to use set it and forget it.. I just used one of my 32g gopro sd's, so didn't have to buy memory. With all the distracted drivers out there, it's just a matter of time before one of them will adversely affect me, so having video proof could go a long way. Maybe one day, I can help someone else out of a bind with some incriminating evidence.

    Pros: good idea

Cons: does not work, does not light up except for the red glow on the charging cord. terrible start up instructions , did not state i needed to buy a micro sd card until i started to read start up.

i ordered it, so i must have wanted it. But who needs something that doesnt work and the instructions are so bad you cant figure out whether the item is defective or i have done something wrong.

Thank you for your review on PID 13607. I am truly sorry to hear about the inconvenient experience you have had with this dashcam. Regarding powering it on, the dashcam should automatically turn on and start recording (if a MicroSD card is installed) once the engine starts. If it does not turn on automatically, can we try pressing and holding the power button for five seconds? Also, can we test it with a different cigarette lighter socket just to see if the results change? Just to verify, is there a MicroSD card in the camera currently? If so, what size and make is the card? Please let me know so we can best assist you in resolving this issue. My apologies again for any trouble and thank you in advance!
