    A Golden Egg
A great little device which does exactly what is purported to do. The price is reasonable, the egg is cute, and it works like a charm.

PROS: Small, lightweight, easy to use

CONS: I wish one could very the magnification, but that would be asking a lot at this price

Wow - great quality and more than expected for such a cheap price
We cannot stop picking things up to look at with this thing - We stuck it in our noses, ears, skin, heel of the foot, where the nail meets your cuticle, a strawberry (outside and in), clothing, rugs, hardwood flooring - just so much! We even took a video of our eyeball! What a great way to explore.

We're going to start playing a family "Guess what this is" game where someone has control of the microscope while everyone else has to sit on the couch and cannot look at anything except the tv/computer screen (our tv IS our computer).

By the way, looking closely at your skin you'll quickly find flakes of black things - that's dirt - and you'll promptly want to go take a shower. :)

PROS: Bright, good focus, amazing to use

CONS: Get so used to just grabbing anything to look at that you quickly get disappointed that you can't look CLOSER at things. But not really a "con."

    Great Egg!
I really didn't need this. But I'm glad I purchased it. Got my monies worth already. From the enjoyment I get from using it for different applications.

    This microscope is pretty cool
I bought this 41 power microscope for my three grand kids (all girls ages 5, 7, and 9) as a gift for what we call little Christmas (which is actually January 6th) and gave it to them yesterday Jan 4th. I didn't know what to expect, after all it was just $15, nor did I know how the kids would react. But boy was it a hit!!! They played with that thing for about two hours looking at dead bugs, lint, hairs, wood surfaces, their skin, etc. whatever they could find to put under it and look at magnified, they did and they had a blast with it. They even took about 20 pictures of different things. And I must admit I was blown away at how well it worked. Heck I even played with it as did the kids father. It was worth twice the price, and at less than $15 on Monoprice, it was hard to pass up. This turned out to be one of the best and most inexpensive gifts we gave this year. Thanks Monoprice.

PROS: Easy to use even by kids
    Low cost
    Works better than expected

CONS: Really no major cons, the only thing I would mention is that the software can take a little time to recognize the device.

Cute, easy to use, takes crisp small photos
I like to take closeup photos of jewelry. This little microscope camera with a ring of lights makes it surprisingly easy, compared to the interchangeable lens camera with microscope adapter I used once before. The included Mac software is simple and easy to use. It's easy to focus the camera. The photos are crisp. The photos are quite small and there is no way to control the lighting, but I don't expect giant photos or fancy lighting from a product in this price range.

    Nice Egg
Bought one for work and it worked so good i bought another one for home use.

XP install went without a hitch

Win7 x32 Not so well, but did get it going by using the USB port on the rear of the computer.

I'm very happy the this device

PROS: A great little microscope for the price.

CONS: No way to control the lighting.

I wish it had an On-Off switch so I could leave it plugged into the USB port

Limited, but great for the price!
If I could I'd give this four and a half stars I would. Great little gaget for the price. Very easy to install and use. A very quick install on Mac Maverick. Nice, clear photos. Great fun. My husband is excited to bring in bugs from the garden to see what exactly is eating his tomatoes. It would be a good gift for children wanting to explore nature in more detail.
The half-star deduction is because there does appear to be an off/on switch you plug it into the usb slot and it is on, lights and all! I'd like to leave it permanently plugged in, but off for my technologically impaired hubby. Also, there is only one magnification option. However, for the price, what does one expect? All in all, a sturdy well-working device.

    PROS: Sturdy for the price
    Easy to install and use
Does what it says it will do
    Great photos

    CONS: No on/off switch
    Only one magnification level

    Cool product!
This thing is cool! It is definitely a novelty as I have no practical use for it at the moment. But it's still awesome that this thing exists and at very low price.

PROS: Very clear, very good resolution. Compact. Interface is simple.

CONS: Limited resolution. Comes with a CD for install only.
