    Deluxe GigBag for Electric Guitar

Carry your guitar in style with this Deluxe GigBag for Electric Guitar from Monoprice!

This guitar bag is sized to fit most solid-body electric guitars, including the Monoprice California Classic, Retro Vision, and Route 66 guitars. It is made of heavy duty 600D nylon. Each seam is reinforced with a bead, so the bag will not come apart.

The bag measures approximately 6" wide at the neck and 13" wide on the body. It is about 40" long, top to bottom, and about 3" thick. It is generously padded on all sides and is lined with nylon for maximum protection. An 8" square canvas patch is sewn into the inside of the bag, right above the bridge, so the sharp metal parts will not rip into the nylon lining. A similar patch is sewn into the bag above teh headstock, to keep the tuning pegs and string ends from ripping or tearing the fabric. A soft, wide loop at the top of the bag wraps around the neck to keep it securely in place.

The front of the bag features two primary pockets and two thin, secondary pockets. The interior of the upper primary pocket measures about 12" tall by 4" wide and the lower primary pocket measures about 12" tall by 10" wide. Each primary pocket has about 1" interior thickness. The secondary pockets are outside the primary pockets and are more suited for thin items, such as strings, picks, sheet music, etc.

The back of the bag features two adjustable shoulder straps, so you can carry your guitar on your back. A nylon loop handle above the shoulder straps is suited for hanging the bag and a windowed pocket is perfect for inserting a business or ID card. On the side is a reinforced nylon handle with plastic wrapping for a firm, comfortable grip.

    Zippers seem a little weak

    Pros: Good padding and price

    Cons: Zipper seem weak

Have my doubts on the quality of zipper. Padding is equal to $60 cases. May not be a touring bag, but works for the once a week practice or lesson just fine.

    Can't Beat the price

allot of people complaining about the zipper, but tell me even expensive gig bag will definitely can be broken after awhile, you just learn how to take good care of it. i love my monoprice gig bag, and i know it will last for a years.

Review revised, broken after 6 months

    Pros: Good padding
    Good value

Cons: Zipper failure may cause your guitar to fall through the bottom side and hit the floor.

Like the other reviewer said. I want to like this gig bag. I'm using this to transport my kid's junior electric guitar to his School of Rock lessons. The strap became detached after about 5 months. A good friend of ours helped us fixed it. That's no biggie to me. But today, the zipper split on the bottom and the guitar fell through the bottom, just like what the other reviewer had said. From now on, I wouldn't trust that zipper on the bottom anymore and will be thinking that the zipper will fail. Luckily there's a top velcro strap I can use to hold the neck to help secure it a bit more, but it'll be more of a pain to have to keep using that. So yes, I'm disappointed.

Monoprice, my suggestion would be to have the whole bottom side sewn completely, and only use the zipper on the side and up. This would be way more secure.

3rd replacement and still having problems

Pros: Lots of padding and has a velcro strap to secure guitar. Good pocket storage

Cons: Not well made. Strap pulled out of case.

I really wanted to like this gig bag, especially for the price. Unfortunately the first one had a zipper failure causing my guitar to fall through the bottom. The replacement I received had a tear along where the handle is stitched to the main bag. The next replacement held up well for about a year. Although it is only used to transport my guitar to and from my car about once a month or so. This past weekend, I picked it up from one of the backpack-style straps and the bottom portion of the strap completely tore loose from the case. Had I been carrying it, I easily would have dropped the case. Considering how infrequently I use it to actually carry my average-weight guitar (a Fender strat) I am really disappointed in the construction. Since the 1 year warranty has now ended, I will just be using it to store whatever guitar I am not using in the closet.
