This says instrument cable. Does that mean it will work for electric guitar, or do I need something different?

BEST ANSWER: Electrically, it will work great. Some guitarists may prefer to have a right angle plug to mate with the guitar, however. With 20AWG inner conductor and a cloth covering, Monoprice cables should last a long time. I purchased various lengths for our church sound system and I am very happy with them.

This definitely works for electric guitar. I've been using these for about 8 months now without any issue. Electric guitar, piano, synth. Couldn't be happier with them. Great value in my opinion.

This will work for electric guitar, but it's short, so you'll want to be right next to your amp or audio interface. It's good for a seated playing position.

Yes, this is a standard 1/4" cable, used for guitar, synths, and many other instruments. I have used with both guitar and keyboards.

Yes it will work. I use it for connecting a synth, but it is the same cable type for guitars (mono).

Work well, with small caveat
I have ordered a half dozen of these over the years and used them on many gigs with no problem. Yesterday I tried to plug one straight into the mixer board for the first time. The first two cables I tried would not plug into the mixer's 1/4" jacks. Tried multiple jacks--no luck. Intrigued, I pulled out my other cables and tried them. Some fit, some didn't. I pulled out cables from other brands and they all worked. As far as I can tell, there is some manufacturing variability in these cables' plugs that is wider than other cables I own. Other than that they have worked flawlessly in all guitars, pedals, and amps I have used them with.

Good cable great price
These cables are very well made and look expensive. Good quality, good price, lifetime warranty. What could be better?

Great cable
Nit much to say other than well built, sturdy and looks nice. The price is too good to pass up. Just get a couple of them to make the shipping cost worth it.

Great performing guitar cable. Kinks easily though.
The Monoprice 6ft cloth series 20AWG guitar cable in black & gold looks nice and performs well. The build quality feels solid. What I don't like about the guitar cable is that it doesn't untwist itself easily and that it holds twist kinks. Every now and then I'll need to unplug the cable from my guitar, untwist the kinks from the cable, and the plug the cable back into the guitar. The kinks are not sharp kinks but curved kinks in the cable from the cable getting twisted/rotated from natural movement of the guitar.

Pritty... pritty good
My first amp cable. Good quality, great price. 6' isn't as long as you think - this is good for sitting down next to your amp or plugging in at your desk. My next purchase will probably be a longer cable with an L shaped plug (for the amp side) so I can walk around in my living room and play plugged in.

Nice quality cables
Quality seems good, have not used them yet though. When i ordered them it said free 2 day shipping. Took 8 days. Kinda bummed about that. Still gave 5 stars for the quality and price.
