    20-Watt, 1x8 Guitar Combo Amplifier

Crank it up to 11 using this 20-watt, 1x8 Guitar Combo Amplifier from Monoprice!

This guitar amp employs a 20-watt amplifier driving an 8-inch, 4-ohm speaker. It features both a solid clean tone and an overdrive tone with 86dB of gain. It has a line level output, which allows you to send the output to a recorder or mixing board. It also features a 3.5mm AUX IN jack, which allows you to plug in an mp3 player so you can play along to your favorite tunes. The 3.5mm headphone jack disables the speaker when in use, so you can practice in total privacy.

Unlike most amps, which top out at 10, this amp has been engineered with volume controls that go to 11! This allows you to crank along at 10 for most of a show then, when you want that extra push over the cliff, you can crank it up to 11 and really send the audience into a frenzy!

    Pros: Solid Construction
    Good tone

This little amp is solid, has a nice tone both clean and overdrive, perfect for practicing in my apartment anytime without disturbing the neighbors. Tonally the overdrive reminds me a bit of the old Peavey "trans tube" series amps

    Huge Bang for the Buck

Pros: Great for tossing in the car to play with friends
Plenty loud unless you intend to gig with it.
Clear channel works great with my acoustic electric
Gain channel works well at low volumes

Cons: When I hook up my amp modeller, it still doesn't sound like a Marshal 4X12 stack.

This little amp is a total hoot. The clean channel is clean and the gain channel is amazing, you can get really good sustain without having to crank it way up. I have larger amps but wanted something small that I could just toss in the car, this was the only amp in this price range with 20 watts and an 8" speaker, so I went for it. My confidence in Monoprice has once more been rewarded. A flawless(for what it is) product at a bargain price!

    Big little amp

Pros: Easy to toss in the car or carry down the street
Does everything you could reasonable expect for the cash
My girlfriend says it is "cute."

Cons: When I plug in my modelling stompbox and set it to emulate a "4 X 12 Marshall stack" it doesn't sound like a "4 X 12 Marshall stack"
My girlfriend says it is "cute."

I was looking for a cheap little ultraportable practice amp. The usual suspects are like the Fender Frontman 10W with a 6” speaker. I figured that if I could get a Monoprice with two channels, 20 watts and an 8” speaker for less money, I should go for it.
First off, there were no cosmetic flaws. Second, everything works all of the knobs and plugs do what they should.
The clean channel produces no noise other than the sound of the guitar. You can turn it all the way up and still hear only the guitar. What more can you ask? The gain channel works well also. What does works well mean? It means that my distortion pedal definitely produces more of a tube sound, but the amp does well enough that the pedal stays home. Using gain, the sustain is impressive. I even get a surprising amount of sustain from the clean channel which indicates that some form of uncleanliness is occurring, but I do not hear it.
Bottom line? Big Bang for the buck!

This amplifier did not even make it thru one song before it stopped working. No power no red light. No Bueno!! Now I wait probably a week or more for a replacement
