    This premium cover has a durable polycarbonate shell, with soft, felt padding inside, which fits around the back of your iPad Air 2. The shell is covered in a padded, synthetic leather material, with an attached lid that folds over the front of the tablet, providing all-around protection for your iPad and a professional appearance.

    The lid is hinged in three places, allowing it to be rolled into a triangular base that supports the iPad in a horizontal/landscape orientation, perfect for watching movies or other video content. A magnet in the front-most portion of the lid provides a light grip on the frame of the iPad, keeping it in place when closed, yet allowing it to be easily opened with just a gentle pull on the edge.

    As with other iPad covers with a magnetic latch, this cover will automatically turn your iPad on when it is opened and off when it is closed. Note that this feature will not function until it is enabled in the iPad settings. To enable it, first install the cover and close it. The iPad will detect the magnetic latch and will reveal the settings for the automatic on/off function. Then go to Settings->General->iPad Cover Lock/Unlock on your iPad to enable the feature. The cover has cutouts for the connectors, camera lens, microhone, and controls.

    Complained and got a replacement, which was just as bad, the corners of this case just crumble away. Pick at it lightly with your nail and it's like a cracker disintegrating. I've been a monoprice client for 8+ years and always have had anything but good things to say. I hope this is not indicative of a decrease in quality, as both this and the last iPhone case I got were absolutely terrible.

    Doesn't turn off the iPad properly

    Pros: Cost

    Cons: Doesn't work as advertised.

    I bought this with the expectation that it would operate as well as the native Apple cover. Wrong! My iPad battery has depleted several times due to the auto On/Off feature not working properly. It could be because the cover is just slightly (about 1/16th inch) undersized and, the magnetic On/Off feature is rendered unreliable.

    Corners crumble

    Pros: Nice looking.

    Cons: Poor quality or defective materials.

    I've only owned this item for a few weeks and barely used it, but the corners have cracked and the material has crumbled away. I see that others are having the same experience so I'm not really interested in trying a 2nd one. At least it was inexpensive, I suppose too much so.

    Brittle case

    Pros: Works well otherwise

    Cons: Plastic falling off and cracking.

    The plastics corners of this case are cracking. The pieces then fall off, which is dangerous (my baby thinks they are food!).

    I returned the first case, but the second one is doing it as well. I never had a problem wth any of my prior iPad cases.
    Maybe it was a bad batch of plastic

    Replacement just as bad.

    I was asked to update my review based on my replacement unit and I encountered the same problem almost immediately. Brittle plastic on the back that breaks at the corners and splits down the sides. This happens within a few weeks no matter how gentle you are with the case.

    Big points to Monoprice for sending out an RMA and replacing my first one right away but unfortunately the replacement is just as terrible. It's too bad because if it was any good it would be the perfect case for me. Stay away from this one.
