    8-Channel Speaker Selector

Spread your sounds around your home or business with this Monoprice 8-Channel Speaker Selector!

This speaker selector allows you to connect up to eight stereo speaker zones. Each zone can be individually toggled on or off with the front panel switch. Built-in impedance-matching circuitry ensures that the overall impedance level to the amplifier does not drop below 5 Ohms, no matter how many speaker zones are selected or how many speakers are in each zone.

The impedance-matching protection circuitry can be disabled using a front-panel button, but this should only be done if there is another protection circuit employed or the system is carefully designed to avoid amplifier damage. The unit can handle up to 100 watts per channel with the protection circuitry enabled and up to 200 watts per channel with the protection circuit disabled.

I use this with a denon X2000 zone 2 through a Yamaha 100W reciever(1988 model year). I have 7 zones hooked up. I have done several maximum volume tests, have not noticed any difference between any of the zones. Can really get the house rock in, I use the Denon app with a tablet to control volume and inputs with both zones, only draw back with my set up is individual volume and being able to turn zone off or on remotely. I used 14 gauge to the selector and 16 gauge from the selector. 14 gauge will work but 16 worked quite a bit better and no chance of the wire pulling out. When you hook up 8 pairs in a tight cabinet there are wires every where. If doing whole house audio and want an inexpensive way to accomplish your goal using this speaker selector is the way to go. Also when building a new house just run wire to each room and patio/deck is the best advice I can give even if you never hook those wires up.

PROS: Solid construction, easy to hook up,

CONS: None, for 30 dollars never expected this quailty

My first one has been working for 2+ years feeding 8 zones without any trouble.

I ordered 2 more since then,

one for inside & outside the garage, and one sitting in a box waiting for me to set up a 2nd receiver system for in & outside the rest of the house.

Great item at a cheap price,

    thanks Monoprice!

    Works Perfectly
This unit works perfectly, as specified. Since this is a passive device (not externally powered) I was concerned that the volume would drop in each room as I turned on zones. I was pleasantly surprised that this is not a problem. I should state that my AV unit can handle 125 per channel, and that seems to be more than enough for this monoprice 8-channel selector to maintain consistent sound in each zone. The unit is also designed to handle between 100 and 200 watts depending on whether the circuit protection is turned on or off. That said, this unit keeps the speakers impedance within safe limits, no matter how many zones I have running at the same time.

PROS: Does exactly what it should, distributes stereo sound to eight other sets of speakers in different areas of your house (eight zones). It is also a well constructed case. It is easy to set-up and you can use up to 14 awg speaker wires. It's completely quiet, and does not get hot.

CONS: Only two SMALL cons. The labels are tiny, but they work. Not a big deal. And I'd love to see this unit have independent volume control on each zone. But since this unit is so inexpensive, I don't mind not having this feature!

Great addition to my setup. Runs bose, infinity, klipsch, altec, and a couple mid brands allowing comparison that provided some surprises. A really fun "wall of sound" when 2 or more speaker pairs are combined. Useful and entertaining.

PROS: Quality look and feel. Easy setup no noise

    CONS: none so far

    Works as Advertised
This is a well-built basic product that does what it says it does. I use it to control 8 zones of speakers throughout my house. Each zone can have a left and right channel

PROS: No noise in switching. Distributes power nicely. Sturdy build.

    8230 8-Channel Speaker Selector
Great product at a great price. The unit works very well and I would recommend this speaker selector to anyone that needs to feed up to 8 speakers from a single amp or receiver.

PROS: Well made heavy guage metal case with easy to connect push in connectors for the 8 speakers. The switch operation is clean with no noise introduced.

CONS: The speaker switch labels provided are very small as designed to fit in a resess on each switch button. I made larger easier to read labels to stick on below each switch button.

    Excellent audio (PA) product!
I was looking for a good speakers selector/spliter with the maximum outputs and MONOPRICE had exactly that!.

This device has 8 spk outputs from a 100Watts (protected) up to 200Watts RMS (no protection) with the protection switch on front.

Very satisfied with this device and on a budget price.

Wish I could spend some more money and go for the one with the volume controls as well but for now it's just great.

My personal opinion on MONOPRICE products is that it's a trustworthy US company where all devices are well made and there's still respect for their buyers.

I recommend MONOPRICE to professionals and amateurs on audio products.

PROS: This is my first speakers selector/spliter for my personal studio and rest of the house device.

CONS: Solid metal heavy construction device with good spring color connectors on the back and good touch switches on front.
