Add another dimension to your HDTV wall mount with this Smooth Motion Adjustable Tilting/Swiveling Wall Mount Bracket from Monoprice!

Most fully articulating wall mounts provide adjustment on three dimensions: swivel the display angle horizontally, tilt the display angle vertically, and extend the display out away from the wall. This mount adds the ability to adjust the height of the display.

Equipped with an adjustable counterbalance weight in the extension arm, this mount can be height adjusted up to 13" with nothing more than a gentle push. When the counterbalance weight is properly adjusted, the arm will stay in position, without creeping upwards or downwards.

The mount is designed to fit a wide range of TV VESA sizes, including 100x100, 200x100, 200x200, 300x300, 400x200, and 400x400. The extension arms allow the display to be situated anywhere from 2.2" to 22.8" away from the wall. The bracket can swivel 90° in either direction, can be tilted up to 15° up or down and can be rotated ±3° to ensure that your display is leveled.

The bracket is designed to fit most TVs in the 26" to 47" size range, with weight between 5.5 and 44 lbs (2.5 ~ 20 kg). It comes with all the hardware needed to mount the bracket to a wooden stud or concrete/brick wall surface. Additionally, it comes with eight sets of mounting screws of various sizes to attach the bracket to your display, as well as the Allen keys needed to adjust the arm counterbalance.

    Overall very happy with product

    PROS: Positions are endless

CONS: Directions could be more defining, explain more in words.

    Because I was asked.......
With the weight of the TV given the sizes allowed for this unit, it does not get very close to the
wall and when you move it side to side it tends to tilt sideways. This side tilt may be due to the
    operation of the arm also.

All in all, I am satisfied with what I got for the price I paid. It Works....

PROS: The product was as described

CONS: The instillation was a but More difficult that I anticipated. Took two people.
Although it does swivel and tilt, it is not that simple to move.

    Read this before you mount
For this review, I will first provide some help in mounting because the instructions omit some crucial information. Then I will review the mount. This is the fifth Monoprice mount I have hung in the last year. All of the prior mounts were the heavier black mounts and they all work very well. This time I was hanging a smaller television and decided to try a mount that also ranges higher and lower. Prior to purchase, I read the reviews that say it has poor instructions. Having hung four mounts recently, I figured that would not be a problem. With one exception, that is true. When I opened the box, the mount was in the up position. I tried to move it into a straight position with my hands, to no avail. This is even after loosening the nut. From there, I hung the mount at the height where I wanted the television, thinking the mount's level would be the proper level. From a hanging standpoint, this mount is very easy with three screws. The TV plate comes off easily, meaning you can place the mount flush against the wall with a level and have it up in less than 10 minutes. The key piece missing from the instructions, however, is to hang it higher than you think. Once the TV is placed on the mount, it automatically lowers. You can anchor it at any point on its axis by tightening the nut. But if you hang it at the level where it comes out of the box, you will only be able to lower it. In other words, as I said before, hang it higher than you want the TV. That will allow you to lower the TV from the highest position, which also extends the arm to provide full function.

Once mounted, this is a sturdy mount, like all of my Monoprice mounts. It also swivels very easily. Unlike other reviews, I do not see a problem with the TV lowering, and that problem should be easily fixed by tightening the nut. My primary complaint is with the tilt. It uses two Allen wrench screws, and the Allen wrench is included. I cannot, however, get the screws to tighten very well so the mount is perpetually facing down. Bottom line, the swivel action is the easiest of any of my Monoprice mounts. I move my TVs regularly so this is important to me. With my hint you should be able to hang perfectly in less than 10 minutes. Hopefully there is a way to fix the tilt so it holds a little better.

    PROS: Solid range of motion

    Easy swiveling action

    CONS: Tilt not easily tightened

    Poor instructions

    Mostly good, one big bad
This is the first Monoprice item I have not been totally satisfied with in four years and hundreds of dollars of purchases. This mount MAY work with lighter TVs but that I had an issue with sag and someone else did as well leads me to believe this is a design flaw that needs to be fixed.

PROS: Sleek, well-crafted mount, solid parts, heavy duty

CONS: The interface between the mount an the TV itself is flawed. The nut used to tighten the vertical tilt can not be adequately tightened to hold the TV (even though it's well below the weight limits stated in the specs) on its' vertical tilt. I have put a thick machine screw to hold the tilt in place but will have to find a better long term solution.

don't push it with large/heavy monitors
We hung some 47" 42 pound monitors on these brackets. We adjusted them occasionally. After a month we went to adjust one and the pin inside one of the arms sheared off (where it was mushroomed like a pop rivet rather than bolted). We're really lucky it didn't come crashing down on someone's head. We are returning the brackets that we used for the big monitors.

PROS: Smooth action is good. Clean looking and stylish. Works well with a 39" monitor.

CONS: Not engineered well enough for heavy monitors 40 pounds.
Can drift a little so that the monitor doesn't stay quite level if you pull it far from the wall. Again this problem gets worse with the heavy monitor.

Great mount, but will fail on you about 1-2 years after purchase
This mount is honestly one of the best out there for the price. However, it will eventually fail on you. It worked perfectly for my situation and handled moving around my 40inch on a daily basis for a little over two years. Given the price I say I definitely got my monies worth.

The failure came via the sealed grease that is in the adjustable part of the arm leaking. The arm will not be able to support the TV any more and will just droop down and the remaining grease will leak all over whatever is underneath it. So if you start to notice the arm not supporting the TV like it was before be prepared for the grease to start leaking. That being said I purchased another one because it fits my situation so perfectly.

PROS: Great price, ease of mounting, maneuverability, and compactness

CONS: The sealed grease canister will eventually leak, but it should last a good 2-3 years.

    ***DOES NOT FIT VIZIO 39"***
This looks like it could be decent IF it fits your TV, but it sure as shooting did not fit mine. I have no idea how you can check that ahead of time, perhaps your TV specs tell the mount size on the back.

Here is my problem. 1) There are only 4 predrilled holes in the back of my TV, and they are very small. 2) So, the 'wings' part of the TV mount wont' work as there is no place to screw on the outside part of the wings to the TV. 3) So, I'd be stuck using the inner square part of the mount only. 4) BUT, the 4 screw holes in the center of the mount are huge, and the predrilled screws in the back of my TV are tiny. 5) These tiny screw head and the huge hole leave no way to attach the mount to theTV.

I followed the instructions in order, and an hour later, ended up with a mount attached to my wall before discovering that the TV would not attach to the mount. I assumed it was a 1-size fits all mount, as the product description led me to believe. Not true!

PROS: Looks good (if it would attach to my TV)

CONS: Need 2 people 2 install (very heavy). Does not work with my 39" Visio TV.

May be a great mount, but pointless if screws are weak
I would love to be happy with this purchase, but I cant use it due to the giant but soft screw used to mount it to the wall. All three striped on me before going in completely. I even slightly marred the finish in my hard fought battle to remove the screws once they stripped. Really unhappy to have such an occurrence. I'm not new to mounting equipment to walls so it's not a case of a learning curve..Why cant harder screws be included instead? They are incredibly hard to get in at such a diameter as it is.

    PROS: Looks pretty sturdy

Similar design to models from other companies charging up to $250

CONS: Certain important parts are cheaply made,
    December 9, 2014
could not even install it properly because the screws were really bad and just bent even before it was completely installed therefore returned the product

    Amazing wall mount..

PROS: Very easy to install, great looking wall mount and well made.

CONS: Hiding cable in the arms is not wide enough.
