120-inch, 16:9 HD Gray Fabric Fixed Frame Projection Screen
Give yourself the gift of a true Home Theater system with this Projection Screen from Monoprice!
This screen is made from a high-quality four-layer fabric. The surface layer is embossed with PVC microdots, which produces a 0.8 gain across an extra wide 160 degree viewing angle. The second layer is made of PVC, followed by a fiberglass layer, and another PVC layer to complete the screen. The result is a smooth screen surface with a stretch rate of less than 1%. By comparison, traditional chemical treated fabric screens have stretch rates as high as 33%!
This is a non-retractable, fixed frame screen. It features a black aluminum frame, which keeps the screen taut in both dimensions. The frame is covered in black velvet. The screen measures 120 diagonal inches and is sized for a 16:9 aspect ratio. The package includes hardware to mount the screen to a wall.

PROS: Was concerned the screen would be difficult to put together based on reviews. Not true at all. Supporting documents were well written.
CONS: Can't say that I have any.
So, it's been 6 weeks and I'm very pleased with the screen - for the price, it's by far the best and all of my friends that have seen it are 'wowed' about it. I paired the screen with an Optima HD8600 projector, used the Monoprice ceiling projector mounting brackets (worked perfectly and looks very clean and finished), and the picture quality (I went with the gray screen at the suggestion of Optima dealer) is spectacular. Screen is very tight, no sagging, and given my installation is very easy to take down (it actually covers a big opening to the back side of my electronics closet so it's easy to access this space) with two people and goes back up perfectly - no realignment of projector is needed.
So, in summary, measure carefully if the screen's dimensions are important in the installation, and be prepared to be impressed and proud of your work - every person that's seen the theater room is impressed with the screen, picture quality and brightness. The sound is awesome - I purchased the Monoprice speakers for this theater room - wall subwoofer in rear (with free standing subwoofer in the front), front and center speakers, 4 side speakers, and two rear speakers - really creates an environment that is superior to nearly any theater. Would I use the same equipment from Monoprice - absolutely.
PROS: Sturdy, nice frame, and easy to hang on a wall.
Screen can be stretch very tight, no sagging after 30 days in the frame.
Installation was easy (in spite of the 'cons' comments).
Comes in a huge box - requires two people to carry unless you're the Hulk.
Looks extraordinarily professional - I had gotten a bid from a local theater shop - would have cost 5x what I paid for this screen and it's as nice (or nicer) than anything in their display rooms.
CONS: This isn't a 'con' rather comment - triple check the dimensions (screen dimensions are in metric versus inches/feet) if the location of the screen is important, because I miscalculated the outside measurements/dimension of the frame - necessitating that I trim the frame - but amazingly, after some careful cuts, peeling back the black velvet frame cover and reinstalling the frame wrapping, and then stretching to one side, the screen alterations were not the least bit obvious.
PROS: Very easy to assemble and to install. Looks like a much more expensive screen once installed. Feels like it's on the wall pretty sturdily.
Once up it sits square and straight. No wrinkles whatsoever on the screen. VERY happy. I am proud to have the monoprice logo displayed on bottom frame. Tells me every time i watch a movie i saved 2k going with this option. Buy it. You wont regret it.
PROS: Well packed, easy set up.
CONS: Directions not greatest
