    Issues with Mounts

Pros: Cost effective, easy to mount speaker

Cons: Break way too easily. Would not recommend.

I purchased these mounts as a low cost alternative to the $50 mounts sold by my dealer. They mounted to the wall easily and there were no issues attaching my sub 4 lb speakers. With the system setup we began watching our first movie. About 15 minutes into the movie one of the speakers came crashing down off the wall into a subwoofer. The box the speaker was in shattered (but the speaker was still ok). The speaker manufacturer sent me a new box, so all was good. About a week later the plastic bracket that attaches to the second speaker split, but did not drop the speaker. I have another set that I will take and donate to Goodwill. I love Monoprice items, but I think I will stay with the higher price mount to preserve my system.

    good not great

Pros: solid built, tons of extra connector screws provided- shipped fast, great price

Cons: bought as same time as the 5.1 surround sound speaker system. the speakers only have one mount hole, vs the two that are on the back of the mounting brackets for these speaker mounts. plus, none of the screws provided properly threaded with the mounting hole on the back of the speaker.

you really have to wrench on the thumb screw to tighten it enough to hold the speaker in position.

double check to make sure the bracket provided with whatever speaker mount system you decide to purchase matches the mounting holes of whatever speakers you buy from here. I would have assumed since they both had the moonrise logo on them they would match each other. I was wrong. I just drilled to screws into my speaker case to mount these to the bracket now. hope i didn't hit anything vital in them!

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 8284. I just wanted to note that these mounting brackets were released before PID 10565. You are correct in that they do not match and the screws provided do not fit. For our 5.1 satellites, I strongly recommend using PID 11410 instead as they were released after PID 10565 and not only fit better, but also include the correct hardware needed for those speakers.

    PID 11410:

I should also mention that making modifications such as drilling new holes does void the warranty for the product. Should you have any questions regarding our products, please don't hesitate to contact our tech support team either via free live chat or email at tech@monoprice.com .

    Speaker Wall Mounting Brackets

    Pros: They look great

Cons: Cannot hold the 4 lbs. as advertised.
Mounting hardware holes do not line up with the holes in the 5.1 Premium speakers from Mono Price.
The screws supplied do not fit in the speakers.

I ordered these brackets to mount Mono Price Premium 5.1 channel speakers. The speakers weight 2.9 lbs. and the brackets are advertised to mount up to 4.0 lbs., but the speakers tilt down. The brackets cannot hold the weight of the speakers so they face forward and level. The brackets are not made to house the speakers as the bracket holes do not line up with the speaker holes. Also the screws supplied to mount the brackets to the speaker do not fit the holes in the speaker. I have only on screw holding the speakers to the brackets.
I expected parts from the same Company to be compatable.

    Poorly designed

    Pros: Cheap and flexible.

Cons: Poorly designed. Use only for very lightweight speakers that need a lot of up/down, side/side movement potential for proper placement.

Tightening the thumb screw resulted in pulling out the threaded insert. Ball mount is smooth and moves easily, requiring the nut to be very tight. Had to do a lot of workaround just to get these to hold my speakers in position.
