I am happy with this speaker.

Pros: Works well. Loud. easily connects with Bluetooth.

Cons: Master and Aux and source device all need to be turned most of the way up for your music to be loud and sound decent. The charger plug is definitely a nuisance as a mini USB charging port would be vastly superior.

The other reviewers here have valid points form the ones that I am reading. For me however I am using it in a situation where I don't care that much about tone control. I just need some more volume than my nice little Bose unit provides. Also amusingly enough I have recently used it as a sound system in a 15 year old beat up car I drive occasionally when my primary vehicle is in the shop. It still had 2 of the 3 bars left after using it for a solid 5 hour drive.

    Good features

    Pros: Price, features

Cons: Not loud enough, too much bass

Sound has too much bass in the mix. Needs tone controls. Had to EQ my source to clean it up, but still not very clear highs. Surprised at the maximum volume. Was expecting more for it's size. Not much more than some of my other mini bluetooth speakers. Great features. Plug your phone in to USB to keep it charged, and plug the speaker in with AC charger and you can run your music all day. Or run fully unplugged and get a least a few hours.

Never in MY ENTIRE LIFE have I been more disappointed with a product.

Pros: The $50 Price Tag, which ends up way too much for this awful product

    Cons: Awful sound quality.
Speaker doesn't even go that loud.
If you do turn the speaker anywhere near it's maximum volume, the music it plays instantly becomes static.
Fails in every possible measure of being a good speaker.

I honestly wish I could give this less than one star. Out of every single thing I have ever bought, be it online or in person, this goes down as the worst purchase I've ever made.

There are three essential categories that every shopper uses to filter which speaker to buy: price, sound quality, and volume.

PRICE: At first glance the price looks amazing. $50 for any kind of Party Speaker is automatically a steal, no matter what the sound quality is. At least that's what I thought, until I purchased this speaker. A $20 mini-bluetooth speaker out performs this one in sound quality. Buy one of those if you're looking to save money, or drop a little extra money on an infinitely better speaker. A dirt cheap speaker at Wal Mart for the same price will inevitably have much higher quality noise than this speaker.

QUALITY: The sound equalizers on your phone do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the sound quality. The speaker manages to mash up every possible frequency of sound together, into one low quality mess. It doesn't matter how strong your Bluetooth connection is, or how expensive of an aux cord you use. The sound quality will be mercilessly destroyed by the speaker.

VOLUME: The volume is the main reason people buy this speaker and it's not bad. The only issue is that once you turn the volume to half the speaker's maximum, the sound quality instantly becomes so awful that the song is just unintelligible. At maximum volume the sounds that come out of the speaker are literally just static.

In short, you can keep the speaker to an extremely low volume, lower than that of the standard cell phone, and get awful quality. Or you can turn the volume of the speaker up to its intended volume, and get nothing but static. It's a catch 22 and a total waste of $50.

You would be much better off saving $50, or investing slightly more money on a better speaker. Because honestly either option is better than having to deal with this awful product.

    Nice little speaker

Pros: Sounds great, Mobile, great Battery life (so far) easy to connect to.

Cons: No tone controls - they should add a mini-equalizer so that you can adjust the tones. Wish there was just the master volume. I found myself thinking my phone was not working because there was no sound. Had to turn up the Aux volume first, then control with the Master. I'm no sound expert, but this just seemed like a wasted control?

This little speaker sounds great. I have an android phone, using Slacker and it sounds just great. I love the mobility and the sturdiness! For the price you can't beat it.

Looks and feels great, but that's about it

Pros: Lots of inputs (Bluetooth, RCA/Aux, Mic)
    Well built
Carrying handle makes it easy to move

Cons: No tone control (becomes very bass heavy at high volume)
    Short battery life
    Poor price to performance ratio
Plug type power connector (see review)

Even after reading all the reviews about the lack of tone control or how smaller speakers performed better, I still bought this speaker. Oh, how I wish I listened. Seriously, put your money towards something more worthwhile. Let's start with the good.

Bluetooth and RCA inputs make it easy to connect just about any device to the speaker and there's a dedicated mic input if you're in a karaoke mood or need a loudspeaker. The speaker is well built and very sturdy. I would have no issue relying on the handle to lug this thing around. Unfortunately, I won't be taking this thing anywhere because that's about as far as the good goes.

No tone control! The other reviewers are right! The only way this speaker is even usable outdoors is if you max out the Aux and Master volume (not sure why there are two volume controls). Problem with this is the speaker becomes very bass heavy at max volume, so music is no longer clear (or enjoyable). Secondly, since you have to max out the volume to get any decent performance, battery life becomes dismal. 4 hours at best. Thirdly, the price to performance (as well as size and weight) ratio is horrid. Comparing this to the Bohm Soundblock from Amazon, I can certify that you really can get a louder and clearer speaker with better bass control in a much smaller package with better battery life (at the same price too). Lastly, since this unit has a plug type connector for power, you'll need to find an outlet to charge it. Most Bluetooth speakers use a micro-USB connector to recharge the unit, so if you pick up an external battery pack (like PID 10392 or PID 15122), you can use that to recharge the speaker and significantly extend your playtime.

I love Monoprice and the wide range of goodies they sell, but this is the first product that I am actually disappointed in and had to return.
