    A "Sound" Value
My "desk" headphones are the Audio Technica ATH-M50x, which are a great value in and of themselves. But they're not made to wear around in public. These Monoprice 'phones are perfect for thatlightweight and comfortable, with a shockingly nice sound. Clear mids and highs, and surprisingly deep bass. After more than 30 hours of break-in, there's a very slight boominess at 125 Hz, but I can remove that with my Onkyo HF Player iPhone app (I also boost the lower frequencies a little). The in-line play/pause switch is nice too, and the mic worked great on a phone call this morning. I don't need a volume switch, so its absence doesn't bother me.

Some have complained that the cord is too short, and it is a little short for use at my desk (my Audioengine D1 DAC is on a shelf underneath), but for portable use, it's just fine.

Another note: these headphones are pretty easy to drive, allowing lower volume settings (and thus less battery drainage) on your portable player.

As a professional musician, I'm picky about sound, and I really enjoy listening to thesemaybe because I can't believe that sound this good is so inexpensive. I will buy another pair. Highly recommended!

    PROS: Inexpensive

    Great sound!

    In-line play/pause switch/mic

CONS: No in-line volume control (but I don't care, so it's not a "con" for me)

Way better than the price would indicate
I recommended these to a friend based on Steve Gutenberg's C-Net review. He loves them. Once I heard them, I ordered two for myself. They compare favorably to my $100+ Audio Technica ATH AD700. While they sound really good directly from a smartphone they also "scale" well, sounding amazing when driven from a quality DAC/headphone amp. (I should point out that one unit arrived defective and Monoprice immediately shipped a replacement.)

PROS: Price, Sound quality, Isolation, Comfort, Monoprice customer service

    CONS: None

    Very Pleased
I was very satisfied with these headphones. I was looking for some light weight on ear headphones that would work well for my kids on planes and trips. They have had some Disney themed ones in the past that have broken too easily and didn't work well with a headphone splitter. These are perfect for the application and sound a lot better too.

PROS: LIght weight, good sound quality. Low cost.

    Monoprice Hi-Fi Lightweight On-Ear Headphones
When first removing these headphones from the packaging, I got the impression that the build quality may not be a strong point of this product due to the extreme lightweight design. However, after spending a few hours with these headphones, I completely changed my mind. The top padding could be a little firmer, as it tends to compress down quite easily, though the lightweight design of this product allows the plastic band to rest on top of your head without much of a problem. The fact that these headphones can lay flat make them very portable and perfect for throwing in a bag to take on the go. The ear pads feel flimsy to the touch, but when you put them on they provide a satisfying feeling and seal. One of my favorite features of these headphones is the fact that they are a closed design, meaning they isolate sound VERY well, making them perfect for travel, either on a busy subway or at the airport. Though these headphones are closed, they still manage to provide a pretty decent soundstage and listening experience, especially at this price point. Extreme low end bass response is not quite there, though midbass and above seem to be quite present and decently punchy for something of this size. Mids are clear and decently satisfying, and highs are solid, though there is a pretty significant fall-off towards the extreme high end (only noticeable on electronic music, not most genres). The cable of these headphones is awesome, as they do not easily get tangled or snagged. The in-line mic is handy to have, though I haven’t ever run into a situation where I needed it. Overall, these headphones are excellent. If you need something to replace studio headphones, obviously look elsewhere. For an everyday comfortable listening standpoint, these headphones are very hard to beat, especially at this price range. Highly recommended. Monoprice provided this product to me free of charge in exchange for a review, but that doesn’t change the fact that these are awesome headphones at an awesome price.

PROS: Lightweight, comfortable, in line mic, quality cable, decent sound, isolate sound quite well

CONS: Not a lot of low end bass response, extreme high end frequencies are lacking. Distortion at high volumes, though not apparent at standard listening volumes.

For the price, honestly can't believe the how good the sound it coming out of these little things. Very impressed with the low end especially, some very solid bass.

    PROS: Lightweight

    Great sound

    Long cable

CONS: starts to get a little sweaty underneath but I'm a furnace

Quality On-Ear Headphones at a Great Price
These are definitely great headphones at their price point. It is very lightweight and feel very comfortable. It folds down flat for easier storage. The inline mic is a bonus as well. It helps out when listening to music on a smartphone and a phone call comes through.

I love the soft padding on the ears and the headband as well. The textured plastic is a nice touch compared to the smoother finish on cheaper sets. The plastic on these feel like they are of very high quality and will be durable.

The single wire design is great. There is one less wire to snag. I own a pair of headphones in the same size/price class that has two wires. I definitely single wire a lot better. I do with the wire was a little bit longer.

I normally use higher end headphones when listening and doing work, but these work great and I didn’t really mind using them for over a week straight. I played games on my PC and listened to music on my smartphone and even made calls. Most people won’t be able to discern the difference in sound quality between these and higher end headphones. Technically, it does lack a bit in the extreme highs and lows. It’s not really bass heavy, but that can be good for some users. I really didn’t notice much when I was using them except in extreme cases where I knew the songs like the back of my hand. These are really good all around headphones for any person of any age. I can definitely recommend these headphones this to anyone who may needs budget or simple all-around-general-use headphones with great quality.

These headphones are definitely a 10/10 based on the class and price point they are in.

    PROS: Price

    Included inline mic

    Soft earcups

    Textured plastic

CONS: Lacks in extreme Low and High frequencies

    Cable length

    No modular cable

Amazing sound quality for the price
I dare you, I double dare you to find a better pair of headphones under 20$. These cans sound great, bass is punchy but not overwhelming, the highs are crisp and clean, overall very well balanced sound. No need to fiddle with the EQ to get decent sound! And because they're so light they are (fairly) comfortable for long listening sessions. A great buy!

PROS: Lightweight, seem sturdy enough, and the most important : Great sound, well balanced.

CONS: Definitively not the most comfortable or stylish heaphones, but then again, can't ask too much at that price point.

Great headphones especially for mobile devices
These Hi-Fi Lightweight On-Ear Headphones have a nice minimalistic look with the complete black headphone unit and cord. The headphones have a smooth lightly textured pattern throughout and a non-glossy black cable.

These headphones have a good sound to them with a comfortable headband cushion and soft earpieces covered in a faux leather material type.

These headphones will be best used in a mobile-device situation due to the short cord, plugging the headphones into a headphone port makes you feel like you are sitting on top of your computer case to use the and have some slack from the cord.

The headphones will come in a frustration-free packaging. They come in a white box with a plastic bag around the unit.

I was provided these headphones from Monoprice free of charge for review.

    PROS: Minimalistic Design, Soft Padding

    CONS: Short Cord
