3D Printer Extruder Heating Assembly Replacement
This is a replacment 3D Printer Extruder Heating Assembly for the Monoprice Dual Extrusion ABS/PLA/PVA 3D Printer (PID 11614). This part is also compatible with our Maker Architect 3D Printer (Model 13861).
This extruder heating assembly melts the 3D filament and extrudes it through the 0.4mm nozzle.
PROS: Shipped from US, quality seems high
CONS: More expensive than whole extruder assemblies on Ebay but US shipping and having Monoprice to call if there is a problem is worth it.
PROS: Works great, heats quickly, fits great
CONS: Not really a con - but the connectors weren't perfect for my needs. I just had to swap some wires over.
PROS: Plugged right in
No mods needed
CONS: Just a little pricey
Oh well my bad for not looking before i bought
PROS: It works
PROS: This replacement part worked perfect in my PowersPec 3D Pro Printer, all connectors and wires were same color, it was a very quick and easy fix.
PROS: Just what the title says, the replacement part is identical to the original. Even the wire connectors are color matched with the original part.
CONS: From the factory the connectors in the printer are glued to the socket, fortunately the connectors were still easy to remove and replace.
No zip ties included.
PROS: Arrived preassembled and in great condition!
So, I ended up removing the heater assemblies from the Monoprice version, but upon doing so the very very small setscrews stripped, requiring me to drill them out.
After I had gotten the heater elements free, I drilled out the small holes in the Makerbot silver piece, to allow the larger monoprice versions to fit. Next was soldering the wires to the existing ones, which went smoothly.
All in all, I would consider this a viable, low cost replacement for the makerbot hot end, though it takes some technical aptitude.
PROS: Partially compatible with Makerbot 2X
CONS: Setscrews stripped upon removal. Ridiculous torque on the 1mm buried setscrews.
