Would not recommend this product to someone who is a novice at phone installation. If you have a tool to terminate a jack, use it and buy the regular "punchdown" style jacks, these are a headache and I will not make the mistake again. Live and learn.

    PROS: Tooless connector

CONS: Not that good of a jack, would recommend spending a little more and getting the regular jack, not this toolless style. I had a hard time getting all the connectors to make contact, also if you are wiring them for 2 line phones, the color coding on the jack is wrong, had to rewire all the jacks after I had 10 stations installed on cutover day.

    RJ-11 Jack
    As advertised, good product.

    PROS: Toolless

    CONS: None

    Works fine but with modification
It took me a few minutes to figure out how to remove the clear plastic clip.

I placed the wires over the metal pins, then secured the plastic clip.

Wire made instant contact and a good connection (solid gauge cable)

The wiring diagram that is printed on the clip is incorrect.

There diagram puts blue & blue w/wht on pins 2&3, green & green w/wht on pins 4&5.

Traditional POTS wire primary line 1 to pins 3 & 4.

    PROS: Cheap (cost)

    CONS: Cheap (quality)

Tool-less RJ-11 Toolless Keystone Jack needs a tool BAD!!!!
I want mention I got help with my order from Monoprice Chat support and watched the easy 1-2-3 instruction video. Not even the wall plate matched the mounting bracket after cutting a hole in my sheetrock wall. I like Monoprice store I learned to work around there bad search bar. I read others review of these connector most have similar trouble. But this cable operation was a true miserable Cable Gate. BB

PROS: Never mind pros Tool-less Keystone Jack don't work...

CONS: After wiring my house for a Magic Jack adventure I learned nothing worked. Man I was pissed to learn none of the jack made there connection. So I used my either net cable circuit reader box and learned if I pushed the wire down into the jaws I got the connection so I put the clear cover on damn I lost the connection I removed the cover and all the wires pulled out . What the hell is going on??? BB

Took me a bit to figure out how it is connected
So I did a lot of teledata work 10 years ago but this connector mounting system took me a while to figure out [no instructions]. So take the clear cap off and turn it over and lay the wires in the guide then push it back on the main body.

Works great once you learn to place the wires in the plastic cap FIRST then press it on the connector. This type phone connector was all I could find for a keystone jack.

    PROS: great low price

    CONS: cheap contact system

    Not the greatest
I bought this without really noticing it was tool-less. I tried to use it, but stranded wires don't work well with it. I eventually gave up on it and purchased a tool-required RJ-11 keystone jack locally. I expect that with solid wires it would work better.

    PROS: Doesn't require tools.

    Good price.

CONS: Doesn't work all that well, particularly with stranded wires.

Hard to get the wires to stay put while assembling.

    They Simply DO NOT WORK!!!
I've installed 3 of them and neither one of them work. At first I thought it was an issue with the connection from our carrier company (Verizon Fios), but they technician performed several tests and checks on their voice cables and they seem to be fine. When I carefully checked this RJ-11 Toolless Keystone Jack, I realized that the none of the wiring inside were pierced to make contact. I've installed all 3 of these following the demonstration video I found, but none of them work. When you put the wires in and then press the top toolless piece down, it does not puncture the wire to make contact. This was a very frustrating experience and a total waste of time and money. I will never buy these again!

    PROS: NONE!

CONS: Product Does Not Work - Toolless Press Down Does Not Puncture Wire to Make Proper Contact with built-in Terminals.
