I have 15inch macbook with OS X running on it which i connect to a monitor with a VGA cable . Whenever i put mac on sleep and leave the adapter and monitor connected to it, after logging in back again the 2nd display is not recognized anymore. I have to disconnect it from the mac and do a reboot, connect it again to get it recognized. I was wondering if this can be resolved with a driver install or some setting change.

Note :- I have tested this with couple of different brand monitors.

PROS: Works as expected, except one issue which is explained below

CONS: 2nd Display not recognized after putting mac to sleep

    Great Display Port Adapter
This is a great little Thunderbolt to VGA and DVI output (didn't test the HDMI output). Some reviews mention issues with 2nd display not being available after waking computer from sleep. I haven't had any issues with either the VGA or DVI-D connections, wakes up perfectly every time.

    My setup:
2012 13" MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt Port (Firmware Version: 25.1, Port Micro Firmware Version: 2.1.3)
    Intel HD Graphics 4000
    2nd Display: View Sonic VX2260, Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz

    Reviewed Product 12799

PROS: Good price with may output options.

    CONS: None

    Simple, but super effective.
Adapter works, plugged it into my MBP & a monitor - spare monitor fired up immediately. Set the resolution properly and got back to work. Works at monitor's max resolution.

PROS: Works at monitor max resolution. Can close lid of laptop while still connected.

CONS: None that I can think of.

    Saved the birthday party
I bought this so when I give presentations I have insurance that the host's projector will connect to my newer laptop. But my first use was for my next door neighbor's daughter's birthday party. They bought an older projector to play a movie projected onto a screen in their backyard, but their laptop didn't have a VGA connector like the projector did. They asked to borrow a laptop and - lo and behold, this multi adapter did the trick.

    PROS: It works
Just one adapter for multiple situations

CONS: None yet, see what happens when I used it in the future

    Pretty great
We bought one on a whim, and found it to be a great go-to adapter. Then it became the best travel adapter. Then we bought more. They're great adapters.

PROS: works great, better than carrying multiple adapters, doesn't compromise

    CONS: none

Works great with Surface Pro 3
Seems to work well and is compatible with Surface Pro 3 and its docking station. Had issues with other converters on docking station.

PROS: Multiple display outputs key for travel and unknown projector setups.

    CONS: None.

    Works as advertised
I had tried a friend's Apple branded display port adapter on my Lenovo Windows 10 laptop but it didn't work.

I decided to purchase this product instead and it works perfectly with the VGA output port on a 1920 x 1080 monitor. The picture is crisp and clear. This will work well for my purpose (viewing présentations, web pages, etc. on external monitors or projectors.)

I haven't tried the other output ports yet. I'll update my review when I do only if they don't work as expected.

PROS: Works as it should on the VGA port. Supports multiple resolution. Had no problem connecting on my 1920 x 1080 monitor.

Has essentially all possible display output types.

    CONS: None
