    Great, but...
This is a great way of bringing in a bunch of different card readers and the HD dock is really useful for helping out other people with "dead" drives and the like.

However, it's been four months now and I can't get the thing to stay powered on. When I first got it, the power switch was really loose - as if the actual "switch" was missing and there was a plastic teeter-totter there instead. Well, now I can't get it to turn on long enough to read a card.

Hopefully they've fixed that in the later batches!

    PROS: USB 3.0
    Lots of readers
    HD docking station

    CONS: Power switch is iffy.

    Great value that delivers
I've had great performance from this.. sustains large transfers at over 70MB/s - up to 95, 100. Really impressed with this, no drivers needed, plug and play with Win 7 64bit.

PROS: Crazy fast transfer speeds through USB 3
Reads the SDHC card out of your camera
    Reads USB sticks
Did I mention USB 3 SPEED!

    CONS: Short power cord

    2nd one worked great
If you need a good cheap external hard drive reader, this is a good way to go. I work in an IT Dept where you need to read hard drives pretty often and so far its handling the task well.

PROS: Nice hard drive reader, and has lots of slots for reading card data

CONS: First one received would not read hard drives, only cards. MonoPrice quickly processed an RMA and got a functioning unit very quickly

    Awesome dock
    Would definitely recommend!

PROS: Easy to use, great for 2.5 and 3.5 sata drives, excellent multi- card reader

CONS: wish there was a thunderbolt version

    wrong or missing cable
Monoprice was quick to ship out one, but should have checked the box when a customer takes note something si wrong. It will prevent you from shipping out lots of items that are wrong. Obviously it came this way wrong from manufacturing? Or your packing department keeps making the same mistake.

PROS: Seems like a nice unit, havent been able to use it yet

CONS: First one came with no USB cable. So they sent a second one out. It came with the wrong cable. It was a USB A to B cable. I noticed in an earlier review someone mentioned there's had a B cable. B cable is for the device side not the computer side. This unit has an Female A connector on it, the same as the computer. So B version is the wrong type.

    Great Docking Station
This is my second one! My Son talked me out of my first one. They both still do the job, and Windows recognizes them just fine. I noticed the new one is faster at transfers. (USB 3.0).

    PROS: Reasonably fast transfers.
Well made. The cards and hard disks fit well.
A lot of functionality for the money.

CONS: None for me. Premature failure would change my mind, but I haven't had a Monoprice product fail yet!

    Works great, fast
Have had the unit for about a week now and used it to do quite a bit heavy file copying for many hours. Since I was putting together a very nice, portable and inexpensive way to house 4 TB of data with product 8672 (USB 3.0 dual drive enclosure), I needed a way to get data from various SATA drives I had laying around onto that other device. This unit made that extremely easy - just pop in a drive, let Windows recognize it, and fire up robocopy.exe.

Used it heavily with 2 different drives - a 750 GB Samsung and a 1 TB "green" WD. Both drives were recognized immediately and worked beautifally. I also briefly tried it out with a couple of others, including a 2.5" laptop drive I happened to have sitting around. Those worked great as well.

In the past I've had some other devices (a bit older and USB 2.0) that allow attachment of HDD's that were extremely flaky. Drives and/or the device itself wouldn't be recognized, or would for a while but then would go "off air," etc. But again - over several hours of heavy use with various drives this thing has been rock solid.

Almost forgot - I also tried the SD card reader the other day to grab some pics from my digital camera. As I hoped, that worked great as well and the speed was awesome. USB 3.0 is the real deal!

    PROS: Fast, reliable

CONS: Yet another power brick, but not much way around that since USB 3 can't power the drive.

Works as advertised, and works with Linux
I tested this on Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 16, and SystemRescueCD works great with all of them. I'll try it later with Arch, but since they're all using newer kernels I doubt that it will be an issue.

The speeds are good what you would expect from a USB 3.0 device. I'm really glad I waited to buy one of these and saw Monoprice's version for much less than retail!

PROS: - USB 3.0 docking station for USB 2.0 docking station price (most retailers are selling the 3.0 versions for $45 and up)
    - Works flawlessly with Linux no additional drivers, just works

CONS: - Provided cables are a bit short (especially the USB one), but nothing really detracting
