6ft 28AWG DisplayPort to DVI Cable - White

Use this cable for connecting your DVI equiped HDTV or monitor to the DisplayPort connector on your computer without the hassle of using a separate adapter.  This reliable, high performance cable has flexible 28AWG, tin plate conduits with pure copper cores and gold plated connectors for long life.
Note:  While DisplayPort connectors are capable of passing a DVI signal, DisplayPort and DVI signals are basically different and not compatible with each other.  In order for this cable to function properly, you must have a DisplayPort source device capable of producing and passing out a DVI signal through the DisplayPort jack.

Note* These cables are not recommended for eyefinity setups, as they are a passive cable adapter.

My entire reasoning for buying this cable is because I have a dual-monitor setup. What's special about my setup is both monitors are capable of 120HZ, with my main monitor only having 1 DVI port and nothing else, and my second monitor having a DVI-D, HDMI 1.2, and VGA.

My graphics card is the MSI Gaming 4G GTX980 a card with a single DVI-D, 3 DP, and 1 HDMI output.

My goal was to use this cable to achieve a reliable 120HZ on both monitors. Let me make the following very clear:

THIS CABLE DOES NOT SUPPORT 120HZ 1080P

and thus was unable to do the one thing i wanted. not only that, but the only way for DP to adapt to DVI @ 120HZ is with an active adapter, which is both janky at best and (at the time of this review) over 90 dollars USD on amazon.

Final Thoughts: the 5 represents the fact that this cable will display 1080p60 between DP and dvi, however that's the most you're going to get out of it. it accomplished half of what i wanted, i am half-pleased, and thus i'll call it a 5/10

PROS: - It's a monoprice cable as such it is high-quality at a good price

    - It does manage to reliably send a good signal between my GPU DP and my monitor DVI

    Response from Monoprice
    Hi Cory,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear PID 6015 did not work out for your needs. That is correct that PID 6015 is not the best solution for your setup and you would need an active adapter for what you are trying to accomplish. The only active adapter we carry at this time is PID 12784 which supports Dual-Link DVI resolutions up to 2560x1600p @60Hz:

I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. If you no longer have a need for the cable I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a return. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with an RMA and I can get that started for you right away.

    Great So Far
I'm running this cable from a EGVA GTX 660 to a 23" Dell 1080p monitor. Picture looks great. I also tried it from an Elitebook docking station to same monitor and still looks just as good. I now wish I got several since several I'm in need of more. Monoprice has never disappointed on their cables.

PROS: High quality construction. Picture looks great from several sources.

CONS: I only got one. I need two more.

Every bit as good at a fraction of the cost.
We have used hundreds of these cables and they have worked flawlessly.... at a fraction of the cost of the manufactures' equivalent.

PROS: With this type of cable, they either work or they don't(some of the other reviews speak to the proper application usage... I am speaking for the quality)... we have yet to receive a "dud".

    CONS: None.

Does Not Work with DVI Out DP In Configuration
I tried hooking it up to my video card with DVI and to a monitor with display port. My computer was not able to detect the connection. I konw it worked the other way around, DP on my video card to my Monitor via DVI.

    PROS: Inexpensive

CONS: DVI out and DP in Configuration will not work.

Great cable @ a greater price
As usual monoprice is providing high-quality cables at an inexpensive price to get the job done. This DP to DVI is no exception. It is a passive link cable but works very well with most applications. High quality construction and excellent connectivity at a great price.

    PROS: Excellent cable
    High-quality construction
    Durable

Purchased these since our new workstations started shipping with Display Ports instead of HDMI. Works like a charm, one thing to note is they have a clipping mechanism so you can't just yank the cable out like you would an HDMI.

    PROS: Great price

    CONS: Not offered in black

    Latitude E6410
Bought this to use with the dual-mode DisplayPort output on a Latitude E6410. Hooked up to the DVI input on a Panasonic CT-36HL43, and it works great. Needed to mess with the nView control settings to stop it from overscanning with this particular screen, but I'd expect that when hooking up a computer to a screen not really designed for use as a monitor.

    PROS: Works

    CONS: None

I've used this site twice for business and each time I got what was needed and have had no problems. I used this site personally for some HDMI cables for my new HD TV and was very pleased with the price compared to what they wanted at Best Buy.

PROS: Easy to order, delivery time was good.
