    6ft DVI-I to 3 RCA Component Video Cable (DVI-I - 3-RCA)

This cable is intended for use with projectors that use a DVI-I connector for its component (YPbPr) video connection. This cable DOES NOT CONVERT DVI signals to component video or vice versa. It DOES NOT CONVERT digital to analog or vice versa. It functions only with devices that use the DVI-I connector for component video.

This cable has a DVI-I connector on one end and three, color-coded RCA connectors on the other end. The connectors and pins are gold plated for smooth, corrosion-free connections.

Good quality / do your homework b4 buying
Didn't do my homework before I purchased this cable. If your purchasing this for Hi-Def or connected it to or from a HDCP device it will not work. HDCP requires a handshake before sending or accepting a signal. Might work on a device 6 years old or older since that is when HDCP was first introduced.

    PROS: Good construction

    Great cable for the job
Cable plugged in and worked, what else could I ask for? At this price, I am super pleased with its use.

PROS: Cable construction good and solid. Works with clear signal for connections

CONS: Colored parts of cable could have bit thicker sheathing, but that hasn't hurt the life of the cable yet.

    Does the job
I purchased this cable in combination with PID: 3002 3-RCA RGB Coupler for Component Video Cable Extension. I use these items along with the Sony PS3 Component A/V cable to view my PlayStation 3 on my Sceptre X20G-Naga III monitor. To my surprise it actually worked! You can no longer find the Sceptre adapter for this monitor on their web site, and this monitor is too old to accept digital DVI (HDCP) signals over the DVI port, much to my dismay.

But on to this product itself!

It is very nice length and build quality. A very sound purchase if you need a cable like this.

The only con I can think of is that my monitor along with this cable will only do 720p. The monitor says it supports 1080i and 1080p... but both of these resolutions, while perfectly viewable, causes the monitor to generate a floating "Out of Range" error box that cannot be cancelled. I don't know if that would be caused by the cable or just a compatibility issue with the signalling of the PS3 and my monitor (most likely).

Also the video is not very smooth. But I don't know if that's due to the cable or my monitor (again, I have a feeling that this feature was added as an afterthought to this monitor).

One size does not fit all.
The cables were nice quality and a great price. Shipping was also good. However, they did not fit the DVI port on my Dell monitor. Seems like they are meant for a different type of DVI port.
