2x4 HDMI® Switch & Splitter - REPLACEMENT PART NUMBER IS 15866 -
Why make everyone at your football party crowd around one or two HDMI® displays? You can run up to four High Speed displays with this Monoprice Switch/Splitter, so everyone can have a clear view of the action!
This device has two HDMI inputs and four HDMI outputs, so you can switch between two input source devices and send the signal simultaneously to four displays. No setup or special configuration is required, simply connect the input device(s) and output device(s), then start using it!
The unit also has a built in, automatically adjusting amplifier. This means that you can use longer than normal HDMI cables running to the inputs. The built-in amplifier will then regenerate the HDMI signal before sending it to the outputs. This lets you extend beyond the normal range (25 feet) for High Speed (1080p) signals.
The unit supports up to 1080p resolution, 12-bit per channel color depth, and high definition audio signals, such as DTS® Digital, Dolby®, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™, as well as standard LPCM stereo.
Note that you don't have to have two inputs and four outputs to use this device. You can use just the switching function if you only have one display or just the splitter function if you have only one input.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a Matrix device and thus will not allow simultaneous use of each input source on different output displays. To see various Matrix devices, please click here.
Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI cables when connecting a device, such as this switch/splitter, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.

PROS: fast deliverly
PROS: Quality & Price
PROS: Easy installation.
PROS: Great price
CONS: the unit when a second TV is turned on must be powered down so that it sends sound to the second tv.
PROS: It works as described.
CONS: The LED's that indicate what's on will light up your room. Sometimes great products just need to be subdued, they shouldn't be the focal point of what's going on.
PROS: It does exactly what it says
was an good price for what it does
PROS: Straight forward setup and worked first time.
CONS: LEDs are bright.
CONS: It is not a matrix as advertised. A matrix lets you assign different inputs to outputs. This simply switches all outputs to either input 1 or 2. If that is what you are looking for then it is just fine. However, it was advertised as a matrix switcher, so it doesn't work for what I had purchased it for.
I had been using a simple single source 2-way splitter (that I got from Monoprice) that I needed to upgrade because I wanted to go to an additional TV. I thought this might also solve a problem I had with one of the TVs on the splitter not working. Come to find out it was BOTH the TV and the Monoprice 35' cable that would not work with the splitter. When I put on the new RedMere cable that I bought to replace that cable with, PLUS another TV from my son's room it worked.
Now, when I tried THIS splitter it almost worked but when you would turn on a SECOND tv, after the first was already on BOTH TVs would lose their audio. The picture remained, but they BOTH LOST their audio. This occurred with BOTH the new RedMere cable and the older Monoprice cable and with the new TV. In order to "fix" it, each time, you had to unplug ALL of the HDMIs (source and destination), turn off TVs and this unit, and then replug, turn back on the unit, then all the TVs. So, unfortunately, this did NOT work as it should even switching the sources did not reset the audio.
I really wanted this to work! Can I vent and say HOW MUCH I hate HDMI and how ANGRY it makes me that we have to put up with this horrible technology (encryption) due to entertainment industry's GREED. It's MADDENING! I'm hoping this is just a bad unit but it is so hard to justify burning MORE hours playing with this.
PROS: Build Simplicity controls
CONS: Ultimately it just didn't work reliably.
