    2x2 Matrix HDMI® Switch & Splitter

Switch, split, and amplify your HDMI® signal with this Monoprice Switch/Splitter!

This Matrix has two HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, so you can switch between two input source devices and send the signal simultaneously to two displays. No setup or special configuration is required, simply connect the input device(s) and output device(s), then start using it!

The unit also has a built in, automatically adjusting amplifier. This means that you can use longer than normal HDMI cables running to the inputs. The built-in amplifier will then regenerate the HDMI signal before sending it to the outputs. This lets you extend your HDMI beyond the normal range (25 feet) for High Speed (1080p) signals.

The unit supports up to 1080p resolution, 12-bit per channel color depth, and high definition audio signals, such as DTS® Digital, Dolby® Digital, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™, as well as standard LPCM stereo.

Note that you don't have to have two inputs and two outputs to use this device. You can use just the switching function if you only have one display or just the splitter function if you have only one input.

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI cables when connecting a device, such as this switch/splitter, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.

Replacement for VGA to Composite Video splitter
I run a computer Karaoke system and was tired of poor video on my monitors. I used to operate, like most KJ's, VGA off my computer into a composite video converter and splitter. The signal was 480P at best. Now I run HDMI from the computer and HDMI from the Karaoke player to both monitors through this splitter and the resulting video is great.

    PROS: Sturdy Cable
    No Signal Loss

    suprisingly superior build quality
This device is simple, all too often these days simple devices are deligated to manufactures who are tempted to skimp on materials. Not this one! They started with a REAL METAL CHASSIS and fitted it with a sturdy rocker switch and easy to read and well marked indicator LEDs. I have mounted it proudly in my equipment rack next to pro audio components and it looks right at home.

PROS: made from real metal like in the old days.
Does exactly what it is supposed to do

CONS: I ordered two of these 2x2 splitters and a 1x2 also Of the three items i purchased one has frequent issues displaying the highest resolution. I expect no issues from Monoprice regardingg an RMA replacement if they extend the exceptional customer service that i hear from first time customers. especially considering that we have spent close to $1000 on widgets for this clasroom AV project in the past several weeks.

We purchased this device after buying my husband a wireless DVD/Blueray player. We needed it to connect several components to our TV without wires showing. The price and quality was better than anything we could find in any of the big box stores.

PROS: Delivered very quickly. Easy to use. Reasonably priced. Does what it's supposed to do.

    CONS: No Cons.

I'm switching an HDMI signal from a Dish Network Receiver (722 VIP) and from a Samsung Blu-Ray DVD into a 55 inch Samsung HDTV in the family room and into a 40 inch VISIO HDTV fed with 65 feet of Monoprice HDMI cable in a bedroom. Works great in both TVs. Both TVs watch the same High Def. (1080i or 1080p) input which can be switched, or if only one is active, automatically switches to that input.

PROS: Fast delivers. Works out of the box. Easy to install

CONS: I ordered this just before 2:00 PM and missed that days shipment. It was shipped the next day. Takes a few seconds to initialize when the system is first turned on. Not a problem.

    works well

    PROS: does what it should

CONS: when it's turned on my other 2 HDMI inputs cannot get a proper hand shake and output No audio. not a biggie for my application just strange.

PROS: Works with my old pioneer receiver that has chromecast/PS3/Wiiu connected to input 1, cable input 2, outputting to the tv or projector.

CONS: none so far...time will tell.

    Splitting one signal
I am using this matrix to split my Directv signal to two tv's in my newly finished basement, and it works great. I am feeding a 65" Vizio Razor M and a 32" Vizio Razor M, the quality is great on both. The 32" is run though a 50' Redmere cable (9172) that I had the contractors run inside the wall/ceiling, and the 65" is going through a 15' Redmere cable (9169), the cable between Directv and the matrix is a Redmere 3' (10206). This setup is working great for me, note that I am just using it as a splitter, I read reviews on splitters and noted that in some cases you need to make sure that both TV's can output the same resolution, so I kept this in mind when selecting the Vizios

    PROS: Great Monoprice value

    Works Perfectly
This Switch Splitter does a great job. I attached my PS3 and Direct TV to two HDTV in two different rooms. I am using a Redmere 50" HDMI cable, no signal loss at all, sound and video is perfect. Only gave 9 star rating because it would be nice to have a remote control feature . . . but it is auto sensing. However, every now and then, but rarely, it won't sense the signal and I'll have to manually select the source or output, but very rarely. Happens so rarely, but has occurred. But for the cost, and the fact that it sends all sound and video through perfectly, makes this a minute con.

PROS: Sends 1080p and below . . . all HD audio types: TrueHD, Master Audio HD, Dolby 5.1, 7.1, etc.

CONS: Red lights in front are a bit bright . . . I put black tape over them. But you can place this unit out of sight once it's set up, so this really isn't a big con at all. Would love to see this unit have remote control, too.

    Solid product
I bought this to to run a dual display setup in my familyroom. I have to switch between my panny plasma and epson projector and the hdmi "sub" output went bad on my receiver. I needed a solution and here it was. inexpensive, rock solid and easy to use. Thanks for another quality product monoprice.

    PROS: Simple setup, solid build

    CONS: LED's are bright

I had intended to get the 1x2 splitter but it was sold out so i sprang the extra 10 bucks for this one and am VERY happy with it. There's a power switch and a select button on it- that's all. I say it's almost stupid proof because it has an auto detect feature that doesn't always detect as fast as a user can push the select button so sometimes it cycles past the intended I/O combination.

The LEDs are red which i was told make the device look "angry and menacing" by my wife...I really don't care but she is partial to the green LEDs on all our other devices...

    PROS: "Almost" stupid proof
    Sturdy metal enclosure

    CONS: nothing bad so far
