4x2 True Matrix High Speed HDMI® Powered Switch with Remote Control, 3D, and x.v.Color™ Support

If you're like most people, you have your home theater setup in one room, but have TVs in other rooms as well. This gives everyone in the house the ability to watch what they want, when they want. But what if the kids want to watch a DVD while you want to watch the big game in the living room with your friends? You can lug the DVD player to the other room for the kids, but a better solution is to use an this 4x2 HDMI® Mini Matrix Switch from Monoprice!

With this switch you don't need to move equipment from room-to-room, nor do you have to buy duplicate equipment for the other room. This matrix provides 4 HDMI inputs, which allows you to connect the Xbox 360®, cable box, blu-ray player, and the output from your Android phone. Any of these four inputs can be independently selected for either of the two outputs. Both displays can select the same or different inputs.

This matrix features an S/PDIF Digital Coaxial audio output via an RCA jack on the back of the unit. The Digital Coaxial output can be used simultaneously with the HDMI output on channel A (channel B does not support S/PDIF audio).

The switch includes a remote control, allowing direct selection of any of the inputs for each of the two outputs. It supports the full High Speed 1080p@60Hz HDMI video resolution, 3D video, Deep Color up to 36-bits, and x.v.Color. Additionally, it supports high definition multichannel audio, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio™. The matrix is powered by an included 5 VDC, 2A AC adapter. The four input and two output HDMI ports are gold plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections.

Just set this up last night. It is working absolutely perfect. got this because me and my roomate sometimes argue to what we are watching/Playing. Since we have two monitors now we can do which ever we like on either monitors/TV. Also if we have several of people over for a game we can display the same feed to both screens. Output A does output the DTS/Dolby Digital for true 5.1 audio. This has been test using Blue-ray video on the PS3. I give this a 9/10 only because output B froze up. Was fixed by turning output B off and back on. Not a big deal since output A and B have different power buttons.

    Current application:

    Inputs to Video switch:
    1x Xbox 360
    1x PS3
    1x HD PVR
    1x PC/Media Server

    Outputs from this device:
1x Logitech Z-5500 5.1 audio system via SPDIF Coax Audio.
    1x 52 Inch Samsung TV
    1x 24 Inch Samsung Monitor

    Great Product!
This is a great product!! I have been looking for one of these for a while. Set-up is extremely easy. I purchased the flat heavy duty HDMI cables from Monoprice. I have my HD DVR and blu-ray player hooked up along with a 40" HDTV and a 22" HDTV. First, I turn the TV on. Then, using the remote, I turn on the splitter. Usually I just hit the reset button on the remote. That turns on both outputs. It takes a few seconds for the TV to receive the signal. Initially, I had a problem that the signal from the cable box kept dropping. It seemed to be a problem with the connection at the splitter. I switched the HDMI cable and I have had no problem. If I did not turn both TV's on initially, I have to hit reset after I turn the second TV on. This also synchs the sound on the TV's since they are in rooms right next to each other. It works out well!!

PROS: Allows us to watch in our den and kitchen at the same time!

CONS: None really . . . only that the reset button has to be pressed each time a second TV is turned on. It's a minor inconvenience.

Except for the occasional "freeze" that occurs when more than one device is turned on works great.

CONS: Occasionally hangs when more than on device connected to the box is turned on, then turned off, prohibits moving to one of the other devices, requires the unit to be reset.

    Great - Slight issue
I have 2 of these and they are mostly great. They are an important part of my home entertainment center. Each device is full of hdmi cables and is used anytime I watch anything. Both devices are fully functional, only issue is that one needs to be reset nearly every time I use it. I must have a faulty device. It still works once it is reset so I can't complain that much, but it is annoying to have to go press the button on the back almost every time I watch TV. I know it is the device because I switched both of the ones that I have around the and issue follows the device. The other one works perfectly though.

Love monoprice hardware! Saves me a boat load of $$$

    PROS: Works great (mostly)
    easy to use
    looks awesome

CONS: Needs to be reset a lot (1 of 2)

    Love this gadget!!
Easy, easy, easy to set up. Clear instructions. Simple to use. Now I can watch Netflix stream on the tv in front of my treadmill in the next room, while DTV box plays something else in the family room. Just what I wanted.

PROS: easy set up, does what it claims to do

    CONS: none yet

Works so well, I forgot what life was like before...
I did my research on the site before buying, and grabbed the proper HDMI cabling along with it and have had ZERO problems with my setup. Very good purchase, and have recommended it to many others. I have a PS3, Xbox360, PC and an HDPVR running into this thing feeding a 50" plasma and a 24" LCD desktop monitor, and I swear it has already saved my marriage several times over. I just love it.

    PROS: It just works.

    CONS: None.

All purpose solution! Does the job well!
I choose this HDMI Matrix over product 5312 because of the 12 bit deep color feature and the faster transfer speeds. Following monoprice recomendation I paired it up with some 24AWG cables.

After connecting all the cables, it all worked perfect! The problem came when switching inputs with the remote, sometimes I would get an out of range message in one of my TV's. After speaking with a monoprice rep he adviced me in the correct order on turning on the equipment to avoid errors.

    The order is:

-Turn on TV (or both TVs)
-Turn on source device (PS3, Cable Box, etc)
    - Turn on Matrix.

As soon as I tried this method I haven't had any problems since!
This is a great device and I would recommend it all the way!

Great Switch at an ubeatable price
    My setup:

    - Motorola HD DCT
    - Sony PS3

    - Lg 50" 720P plasma TV
    - Optoma HD200x 1080p projector

My 7.1 Pioneer reciever does not have HDMI in/out but using this switch allows me to switch between the TV and projector without having to upgrade my Reciever. I looked at buying a new reciever, but the cheapest I could find one that had 2 HDMI outputs was $1799.00. So for around the $80.00 mark, this was the better option.

A big bonus is that I can control it with my Harmony one.

PROS: Works with Harmony One Remote

CONS: only does digital coax to 1 output, which doesn't matter because I run the Digital coax/toslink directly from the DCT/PS3 to the reciever and it works fine.

    Works Great With Minor Issues
This product has worked as advertised switching four sources between two display devices. The only problem I've had is that is occasionally gets out of sync and doesn't display any picture at all and then I know it just needs to be reset. There is a Reset button right on the remote so I don't even have to get up to correct that issue. The fact that I have to hit reset once in a while is the only reason I gave it a 9 but other wise it has worked great for me. I haven't watched a 3D video yet so I can't attest to whether or not that part functions correctly.

PROS: Conveniently switches four sources to two displays

CONS: Occasionally gets out of sync and needs to be reset

    Amazing Device
I researched for a HDMI switch for a week before deciding on this product. First, I decided to choose from the Monoprice switches because of their extremely low prices. Then, I picked this unit because of the reviews. It has everything I am looking for in a switch. Connected to the switch I have a PS3, XBOX 360 S, U-verse. All seamlessly outputted to a 50” Samsung DLP and 32” LG LED LCD. Every time I switch between devices it does so quickly, around 2-3 seconds. Not once have I had to reset the switch like some reviewers mentioned. Picture quality is excellent and I have no complaints about the sound. I am very happy with this switch and believe it is worth a ten. If you’re reading this you’re probably on the fence about buying an adequate HDMI switch for your needs, and if this switch does everything you need it to then look no further because the price can not be beat.

    PROS: Works as advertised
    Superb picture quality
    Switches quickly
    Never had to reset

CONS: IR controller must be pointed at unit to work
    No auto switching
..but very small almost insignificant cons..
