When we asked earlier, "What the heck is Monoprice doing at CEDIA?" some of you said they have no place in our business.
From the response of the CE Pro Blog Mob at CEDIA Expo 2012 -- you're wrong.
Seven of the Mobsters visited Monoprice at the show, and were astonished at some of the low low pricing, as well as the small form factor of Monoprice's Redmere-enabled ultra-thin HDMI cables.
Joe Whitaker of The SoHo Shop said, "I can't believe someone built an HDMI cable that looks like an Apple power cord."
The biggest surprise at Expo was that Monoprice announced a line of unbranded products that dealers and OEM customers can resell without the Monoprice logo emblazoned on them.
When I was discussing this move with one high-end manufacturer on the showfloor, he said one of his customers opened up a chassis and was not too pleased to see a connector with a Monoprice logo on it. Fear no more.
